Brad Pitt & Barack Obama are Related
Fri, 28 March 2008 at 12:27 pm
The View gals asked Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama this morning to help clear up the rumors that he’s related to Brad Pitt.
“I guess we are ninth cousins something removed or something,” Barack said.
Jokingly he added, “I think he got the better looking side of the gene pool.”
Barbara Walters couldn’t agree more: “We thought you were very sexy looking (applause). Don’t you think so? (to audience)”
Apparently, the other Democratic presidential candidate, Hillary Clinton, is cousins with Pitt’s partner, Angelina Jolie, twice removed.
Um, yeah. Just so you know! Watch the clip of Barack on The View here.

I DON’T UNDERSTAND SOME OF YOU PEOPLE,
our lives are at stake, the world’s peace is at stake.
this guy was elected TWICE!!! now after 5 years into a war, thousands of deaths, and you complain about politics at a gossip blog?
we are cyber friends, we care for each other’s thoughts, we have things to LEARN from each other.
quit b*tching already! come back another time.
The Daily Mail says that Angie is constantly tired because she has to be in Texas with Brad Pitt. Uh! Give the woman a break and let her stay in one place … like Paris. Hello any Angie fans would know that she would rather be in Paris or Africa for her pregnancy. like … DUUUUH! can you imagine her tattooing Texas on her arm ? I don’;t think soooo.
Hi angel
. Yeah i know, it’s gotten heated a little bit.

All Hail, AG! She rocks! Er…except for that Porgie fixation…
I just want to add one thing - I know CHRISTIANS of different denominations in the same house who can’t get along with each other. Blathering on about whether or not Obama went to a Muslim school when he was freaking SIX YEARS OLD is just plain stupid. I’ve got a cousin that went to a Catholic school her whole life…girl turned out to be the biggest ho in the neighborhood.
All this talk of whether or not Obama ever practiced the Muslim faith is silly. The man isn’t a Muslim now and even if he was the Earth is somehow still managing to turn. For a country that was based on religious tolerance we certainly have NONE when it comes time to put our money where our mouths are. If Obama were Jewish then people would be trippin’ over that as well. Get over it. This is supposed to be a country based on freedom from religious persecution, yet Obama is being dissected for his religious beliefs. America thy name is Hypocrite.

Now this is too funny. Comic Relief or what. AJ is with her Man and children. She has the best medical care and the love of her family. The only thing tabloids are good for is repeating cra*p from another tabloid. Don’t believe the hype. They always make drama around AJ pregnancies because it sell. Read past tabloids from when AJ was pregnant with Shiloh and you will see that it is recycle bs.
I don’t mind many of the discussions on this blog because I learn something new every time. There is a diverse group of people on this blog and the different viewpoints for the most part are interesting. I skip most posts that are smear jobs and crazy rants. However, it is all good.
Politics make good bedfellows and some you want to kick out of the bed. However, the main thing is to exercise your right to vote.
oops make that strange bedfellows. Peace to all.

DVDs of the week: The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford, Black Sheep and Rendition
+++++++++++++++++
Seeing this review of the TAOJJ DVD reminded me of something I saw in one of the tabs yesterday. It was a short blurb about Pete Wentz of Fall Out Boy. Pete Wentz is quoted as saying that since he saw the bath tub scene in TAOJJ he no longer takes showers. He only takes baths now…because he was so affected by what Jesse said about being able to keep his gun nearby. All I could think was, “Ya big wimp. If Ashlee Simpson scares you that much then you really need to get out of the relationship.”

Could you state your facts just like she did and we did all throughout the thread??
Thank you, PT for doing something I tought was impossible, finding something to laugh about in this thread., your comment about your cousin made me choke on my coke.

And could it be possible that Obama is the ultimate sleeper cell planted by the Jihad in America?

Oy-vay. You know what, Orchid, I always considered you to be fairly intelligent, but that statement totally changed my mind.
FYI, Obama is an African name, not an Arabic/Islamic name.

Jill -
To be perfectly honest I stopped reading Orchid’s posts when she started going on about Obama supposedly going to the madrassa in 1967…when he was a whopping 6 years old. Call me silly, but in the ’60s it wasn’t all that uncommon for 6 year olds to bearly be reading yet. Somehow I doubt the madrassas back then jumped right into teaching the kids Jihadist theories, pipe bombs and matyrdom.

Try to follow along, recent studies have shown pea membranes are more sophisticated than you might lead yourself to believe. Don’t strain too much but here goes:
Obama has 1625 delegats and Hillary has 1486.
He has won more states than she - double her number actually.
Since when in America was the size of the state you win an argument for winning the nomination over winning overwhelmingly more states and more popular votes? You and Hillary please explain to the American people how you will petition for the nomination when the majority of voters have voted for Obama. Please explain this. Yes some states give more delegates to each candidate upon winning however no one has ever made a case for winning the nomination based on the size of states.
+++++++++++++++++
Sorry…but I stopped reading when I got this far. I’m ROTFL. Uh…let’s see…you win 20 states with a total population of 20MIL…versus 10 states with a total population of 40MIL. Nobody’s ever going to call me a math genius, but the last time I checked 40MIL votes is twice as many as 20MIL. And THAT is why the presidency (and candidacies) needs to be decided by the popular vote and NOT the Electoral College or delegates. Or do we really need to get Al Gore to blog and explain why? One of the founding tenets of this country is supposed to be the will of the PEOPLE, not the will of the most states.
BTW - My numbers are EXAMPLES NOT ACTUALS. So save yourself the trouble of correcting me. And no, I didn’t read the rest of your post, but the direction you were going indicated to me that you were likely to continue in the same vein. If you didn’t…my bad for not continuing to read. If you did…well…I stand by my post. More actual votes should trump most states won. It’s hardly the candidates’ fault that more people live in NY, TX, IL, CA, FL, etc. than live in MT, VT, ID, ND, SD, ME, etc.

It is almost April, but the city is looking beautiful..

# 470 Some statistics @ 03/29/2008 at 2:21 pm
Counting the primaries/caucuses through electoral votes (rather than delegates). There are a total of 540 electoral votes.
By electoral votes, Clinton would have won 219 (minus Michigan and Florida) against Obama’s 203. With Michigan and Florida Clinton would have 264 electoral votes and a win in Pennsylvania would give her the majority of electoral votes.
Big states are very important in ELECTABILITY.
+++++++++++++++++++++
SHHHHHHHHH. It’s a secret. Then again, Obama’s hope is that inthe states he didn’t win there’ll be enough Hillary supporters who are staunch democrats that will vote for him simply to keep a Republican from winning. That’s ALWAYS the case when a race is as close as this one has been. It was the same way when Clinton beat Gore in 1992. The only difference was that Bill had the foresight to make peace with Gore and bring him on board as VP. That WILL never happen with Obama because he’ll always be looking over his shoulder and Hillary won’t be content to play Yes Woman AGAIN. She’s been there and done that. This is an all or nothing bid for Hillary and unfortunately I think she’s going to come up short.
Let me just say one last thing about this presidential race - here’s why I’m supporting Hillary: Aside from having issues with Obama’s wonky connections to the oil industry and several business associates from his past, it’s just my belief that after over 230 years of men ******** up this country, it’s time for a REAL CHANGE and I don’t just mean the usual political rhetoric. The fact of the matter is - women think differently than men and often see the practical solutions that men don’t or won’t due to ego, hubris, envy, greed or what have you. If AMERICA is ever going to get out of this quagmire that it’s in, then it’s going to take someone who thinks outside the usual whitebread box. Personally I’ll love for Hillary to win the election and choose Nancy Pelosi as her running mate. Let the women kick ass and take names. The men have screwed the country up long enough!
Oh God…I probably sound like a rampant feminist, but hey, I’m just sick of turning on the news and seeing all these other countries, MUSLIM countries even, that have had women running the country and America STILL thinks it’s a big deal to have women governors or a female Speaker of the House. That is simply beyond fcuked up.

Thank you!
Don’t think X’s name has been uttered even once on this thread…
Hello and thank you Jill, African Girl and Lilian. I am thinking the same way bdj is. We learned so much today, not from an article or distant source, but directly from those among us who are best able to describe different religious experiences.
Some days I shake my head when we get stuck with a dj-type series of “contributions”, and question why I take the time. I guess the reason I do and you do, too, is it isn’t just a gossip blog at this point. It has become a cultural exchange, often fascinating.
The information shared by AG and Lilian is as pertinent and timely as anything we are likely to study in a class or see on a news programs where religions are examined, yet it is far more meaningful to us because we can trust them. What they say we know to be authentic, and there is no better way to learn than from experience.
What other blog can boast that posters “Come for gossip about Brad and Angelina but stay for cultural enrichment”? Ha!
hello fans!!, wish you all a wonderful saturday!!
i´m not north american, so if someone can respond, it would be nice. Has Obama good chances to win?, as north american citizens, what is your percepcion?, what does people say on the streets?, is your country prepared to vote someone who is not white?
Julia: belated Happy Birthday!!
Hilary doesn’t represent change…She’s the same ol’ same ol’ with a softer voice and a femine pant suit…hahahahah…her ‘balls’ are too small to attempt that feminine perspective women have…she’s used to playing by the boy’s rules and she’s good at it…but she isn’t different…if she’s elected, then, she can offer Papa McCain the secretary of defense or secretary of homeland security…he only wants to be Commander in Chief…He isn’t offering or interested in given America or the world anything differently than we’ve been given the past 8 years…real change…Obama/Richardson ‘08.

That is very true!
FYI, my argument with Sheri was about the fact that I posted that I saw on TV the Islamic school that he went to when he lived in Indonesia, and Sheri didn’t believe me, implying that I lied/made it up. That annoyed me.
That’s the ONLY issue as far as I’m concerned. Nothing else. That argument is over now, because Obama himself said it in his book
“The Audacity of Hope.”
The three letters I posted was from one of the links I found re Obama’s
stay in Indonesia.
What you think of my intelligence is entirely your business.
446 Jill @ 03/29/2008 at 12:33 pm Orchid @ 03/29/2008 at 9:31 am
One more thing — there is no such organization as “the Jihad”. Jihad is an Arabic word meaning struggle. It’s usually interpreted as the struggle to attain inner knowledge and trying to live a life that is pleasing to God. It’s the loonies in Islam who interpret “pleasing to God” as killing all non-Muslims. And the loonies don’t represent Islam any more than the right-wing wackos who bomb abortion clinics in the name of Jesus represent Christianity in America.
——-
Thank you, Jill, but there really is no need to tell me stuff I already know. I think you would have concluded that if you have read my posts.
Orchid,
Thanks for clarifying…you lost me back there…hey, howabout a taco or pupusas?…haha…it’s all good, yes?
Orchid, if you already knew those letters were ridiculous, what was the point of posting them?
Anyway. The anti-Muslim hysteria is getting totally ridiculous. When I see stuff like this:
Only
Blacks
And
Muslims
Allowed,
I tend to get just a tad p*ssed off. You can push stupidity only so far.
that’s new and refreshing! @ 03/29/2008 at 4:17 pm
Reality is past connections have been severed for good.
US presidential election is lively and very interesting this time.
