OlderBrad Pitt & Barack Obama are Related

The View gals asked Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama this morning to help clear up the rumors that he’s related to Brad Pitt.
“I guess we are ninth cousins something removed or something,” Barack said.
Jokingly he added, “I think he got the better looking side of the gene pool.”
Barbara Walters couldn’t agree more: “We thought you were very sexy looking (applause). Don’t you think so? (to audience)”
Apparently, the other Democratic presidential candidate, Hillary Clinton, is cousins with Pitt’s partner, Angelina Jolie, twice removed.

Orchid I acknowledge that America is a free country. I acknowleded that anyone may abstain from voting in America (well, not technically in Australia because it is illegal not to vote if you are a registered voter and you can be fined for not voting).
However, perhaps because I’ve lived in countries where people have died for the right to vote, I value my right to vote or not. And I’m expressing my opinion that if you abstain, let it be for a well thought out reason and not merely out of petulance for not getting your best choice and you are now forced to make a better or worse choice. When you choose to abstain in this situation, what you are CHOOSING to do is to let others make the choice for you - which is, of course, still a choice because at the end of the day, you have to live with other people’s better or worse choice.
BTW, I have enjoyed reading this thread and the various opinions of the DEM candidates. I have learnt a lot.
I am taking the wedding rumors with a grain of salt. Though I do admit to checking to see if there is legit confirmation somewhere.
That would be so wonderful. I wonder when we will find out for sure.
If I have a vote I’m voting that the story about Brad and Angelina’s marriage is FALSE.

Just heard. It’ s official. They’re married. Yea!!!!! Believe it or not, that’s what I’ve read in 3 different reports.
I hope they got married, but I am not believing it until a reliable source says so.

I know what you said, lylian. I totally understand your post, but Arora can do what she wants. It’s her choice. I was surprised to see that you used the word ‘petulant.’
Even in Australia a voter who wants to abstain can go to the place of voting, have his/her name crossed out, get the form(s), go to the voting both, NOT fill in the form(s), and put an empty folded form in the box. Who is to know?
You can make people go the the place of voting by threatening them with a fine, but you can’t force people to vote.

Even though Brad Pitt famously once said that he would get married again when everyone in the United States could also do so, the rumor mill has gone into overdrive this evening with reports that the Fight Club star has said “I do” to gal pal, and mother of his children, Angelina Jolie in a ceremony in New Orleans.
When reached for comment on the rumors, Brad’s rep would only say to OK! that she had “no idea” if they were true or not.
If Brangelina, who are expecting at least one more child this summer to add to their already sizeable brood, did indeed tie the knot, it would be the second go-around with wedded bliss for Brad, whose marriage to Jennifer Aniston notoriously dissolved right around the same time he met Angelina.
This would be the third trip down the aisle for the Oscar-winning actress, who had previously been wed to actors Johnny Lee Miller and Billy Bob Thornton, which means this would mark the first time that Angelina married someone without three names.
Stay tuned to OK! as this story develops.

Me too, actually. If the story is true then, I guess, we can just hope that if doesn’t go the Hollywood way. Live together, get married, split.
It has always been my opinion that if it was up to Brad, they would have tied the knot long ago, and that it was AJ who was happy with the way things are and didn’t want to jinx it.
If the story is true, then, imo, Brad has finally persuaded her to take the step. I also think his parents have also been interested in seeing the parents of their grandchildren married.

I don’t think it’s true, although if it is, it would liven up an otherwise boring week in entertainment.
Another bonus would be that Kim Serafin’s face would be totally cracked for saying that a September wedding on a yacht was in the offing.
