Brad Pitt & Barack Obama are Related
Fri, 28 March 2008 at 12:27 pm
The View gals asked Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama this morning to help clear up the rumors that he’s related to Brad Pitt.
“I guess we are ninth cousins something removed or something,” Barack said.
Jokingly he added, “I think he got the better looking side of the gene pool.”
Barbara Walters couldn’t agree more: “We thought you were very sexy looking (applause). Don’t you think so? (to audience)”
Apparently, the other Democratic presidential candidate, Hillary Clinton, is cousins with Pitt’s partner, Angelina Jolie, twice removed.
Um, yeah. Just so you know! Watch the clip of Barack on The View here.

VOTE HILLARY!!!!!
>>to Orchid - my neighbor is into politics and I am not. Here is what he is thinking : A vote for Obama is a vote for Osama. To me it rhymes and so be it. >>
So I guess that means that your neighbor’s an idiot, and so are you?

…I would think they would see Barack’s biracial make-up and experience with Asian culture…
——-
What experience with Asian culture?
^^^^^^^^^^
obama’s step-father is Indonesian. His sister is married to a Chinese person and his nieces adn nephews are half Chinese. As a part Asian person myself, I find this inspiring. And you actually believe a Senator from the US who went to a “Madrassa” could actually be sworn into the Senate. Shows your ignorance. You have a hatred for Muslims. As a biracial person, I stay clear from hate talk. You have hate talk. My parents taught me better. Like someone said above, Obama appeals to young voters who are not tainted by hatred in old school American, he is supported by college educated people who have learned to think before voting and he is supported by higher income people who are noto threatened by people who are different. I’ll let you be the racist that you clearly are. II find it interesting that you are a supporter of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt. They would never attack Muslims the way you do. How sad for you. Ii am glad I am of a mixed race - Asian and White - background and in my home, there was never any tolerance for hatred of people based on religion and race. Who cares if anyone is Muslim. For the record, Obama is a Christian. Read a book. Learn something.
——-
What kind of sentence is that??? I don’t understand what it is you’re saying. I know he is a senator.
You jump to conclusions rather quickly. I asked a question. You answered me (your first two sentences), and should have left it at that. You added your silly assumptions. I have no time for people like you!

I’m calm.
I am an Obama supporter.
However, I happen to think that you are full of $h*t. And since supporting Obama and believing your bull$hit isn’t mutually exclusive, my soul is at peace.
Your bumpkin @$$ came on this board, talking about how Brad will vote, despite the fact that the CA primary has already happened. Trying to backtrack and say that this is about endorsements will not work; too bad, Kim Serafin.
You can get all zen, but it doesn’t make that big booger hanging from your nose seem any less conspicuous.
Tamlin–just knock it off…………. you already made a fool of yourself and your political agenda… This is a celebrity blog and it isFriday night…just let it go, you ain’t going to win
We all know who we are going to vote for and what you ;who ever you are BTW… none of us know who the crap you are , but you decided to post TODAY ((duhh))… it ’s NOT going going to change anyones opinion who we vote for …PERIOD!!! So IMO, go to a political blog not a celebrity blog….Peace
Hi Tijen, Mystify how are you ladies doing?

What exactly are you saying? Are you saying Obama doesn’t rhyme with Osama???
Seriously, Catleya’s neighbor is entitled to his/her opinion, and so are you! We are ALL entitled to our opinions. No fighting!
Does anyone else remember when Ms. Walters said how she thought Richard Nixon was the sexiest man she’d ever met?
Felinelilly @ 03/28/2008 at 12:58 pm Good morning to all the fans.
This morning on the radio I heard that according to some poll (I’m not sure which because I wasn’t paying that much attention until I heard their names), Brad and Angelina are the #1 couple that world travelers would love to run into.
Enjoy your day everyone.

I know I would LOVE to run into them!!!

Wow, you won’t let up will ya? So you think I thought Brad would vote in either the Pennsylvania, Puerto Rico primaries?????? Is that what you thought I meant? Yeah, I really did think Brad was registered to vote in San Juan.
I said Brad is SUPPORTING Obama and saying he is VOTING Obama is simply grammatically suggesting that he did and since he already has voted Obama then he is still an Obama voter. I tell people all the time: I AM VOTING OBAMA. That means he has my vote and it means he will have my support in November. Like I say, my mom is voting Obama. Yes, she already voted in the New York primary - but voting Obama means supporting him and continuing on to support him in general elections. Why are you stuck on this? Because you cannot make an intelligent argument otherwise. That is why. And you seem so comfy knowing that ONLY YOU know which states already voted so my use of semantics suggests I don’t know that Brad already voted given where he might be registered. For the record, I have been campaigning in my free time for Obama since last year. I have canvassed, I have made phone calls to voters throughout the country, I volunteered as a Precinct Captain on Primary day, and I donated so far, over $1000 to his campaign and my parents have donated WAYYYY much more than that - along with using their home in NY as headquarters for meetings, etc So excuse me, I know when states vote silly person. And yes, it is about endorsements- I am saying that Brad is not going to publicly endorse because he is too high profile. But the word from all my friends in Los Angeles is that he is in the Obama camp. As is Clooney, Damon and Affleck and Garner etc. The more you write, the more your character is laughable. people who are dead wrong but are utterly convinced that they have someone figured out or that they are on to something that no one else knows. People like you get disappointed in the long run - because you can be wrong and you can misjudge people as you are misjudging me right now. Silly child. Calm down. You are not calm at all. For a Friday. lighten up.
Brad and Angelina are popular not only because they are movie stars, but because of their humanitarian causes. So I am not surprised at that they are the couple most want to run into.
Brad and Angie’s fans all come from different political background and religious affiliations-democracts, republicans, and indenpendent; and christian, muslim, buddhist, catholics, ect. It does not matter who you support as long as you VOTE.
Having said this, if you must defend or publicly support your candidate in this blog, just please don’t demonize their religion, distort thier voting records (bill), public statements or speech, ect.
Don’t listen to the soundbites of all politicians, instead read and learn about your candidate(s) so you can vote intelligently.
I am not trying to preach here, just trying to make the blog and the conversation civil. If we must argue, we should argue intelligently.
I am tired of politics and can’t wait for this election to be OVER!
For the record, Obama went to a public school in Indonesia, which happens to be a Muslim school but does not focus solely on religion.

Hi Guli! Hi Mystify!! Hello JP fans!
I was glad to see Jared post this new non-tabloid thread, but now it is quickly turning into a political thread. O well, sometimes Jared can never win.
Tamlin- Huffingtonpost is a good blog for you. It is a political blog with some very intelligent posters. I think you would appreciate it there, and also be appreciated there. Here, it is mostly about the Jolie-Pitts and their children. You know I really like Hillary Clinton ( I loved President Clinton). I also like Barak Obama. Heck, I also think McCain is one of the better Republicans. But something about politics…it just never ends. It goes on and on. Hurtful things get said.
I don’t know how long you have been here, but this is one of the least prejudiced (racially) places you can ever find. You see we are from all different parts of the world, of different racial and cultural backgrounds. English is a second language for many of us. We have found a place where we can come and enjoy this equally diverse and unique family that represent the world we live in..a mom and a dad and much loved and cared for children who are indeed very lucky. So stay and enjoy them with us, but talking politics is tricky.
Early early review of Kung Fu Panda by Jerry Beck from Cartoon Beck. (Note is dislikes Dreamworks. So for him to love this movies says alot)
Kung Fu Panda kicks ass!
March 18, 2008 6:00 pm
I see a lot of animated features in advance and, for the most part, keep my opinions to myself until the movie is in general release. Today I had the opportunity to screen Kung Fu Panda and cannot contain myself. I’m not going to write a review or post spoilers - but I just want to alert you to what I believe is one of the best CG animated films I’ve ever seen.
Yup. Right up there with The Incredibles. Dreamworks has done it. No joke.
The art direction, the voices, the character animation, the comedy, the action scenes, the opening 2-D cartoon sequence, the heart… it all works. Don’t miss this in a theatre. I don’t care what you think of the trailer, or Dreamworks track record, or anything like that. None of that matters. This film is good, and will a big hit. Mark my words - you’ll want the action figures.
Yes, this is a rave. I’ll post a more formal review as we get closer to its release. I just wanted to be the first to tell you.

Hey Tijen,
I was attracted to this post because it guess what: talks about politics! I meant it is a thread about Brack Obama being linked to a celebrity that I like so I find it interesting that people think it is inappropriate to talk politics on a thread about a politician! Maybe this thread should not be put up here then. Dunno. Yeah, I am born of a Japanese mother who was a staunch feminist and a White father whose family was pro-Civil Rights. I have no tolerance for people who judge based on race or religion. And I don find it interesting, how some people here are alarmed to think Brad Pitt would vote Obama. Ii find that fascinating. I hope Brad and Angelina are reading these posts - it would shock them to think their fans don’t always see the world as they do. I am saddened by that. Read above: the anti-Muslim comments - I find that truly backwards and sad. Replace the workd Muslim with another religion, would that be acceptable? But yes, Huffington Post is awesome. Once can only discuss Katie Holmes’ new haircut for so long, know what I mean? Have a good Friday.
Tamlin:
You are the one that is coming across as laughable, not piper with a low. Enough with your agenda pushing. STFU!!!
209 lady t @ 03/28/2008 at 7:07 pm SOS - No it’s not racist if you don’t like Obama’s as a candidate but it’s racist if you are basing your disdain because of his race/gender/etc…
Many people want change but controllable or comfortable change and that’s what Hillary Clinton is offering with her same ole political tactics and personal agenda. I am very verbal about the politics in America right now. I don’t believe any one candidate has all the answers but I do believe in the lesser of two evils or the choice that I am willing to live with. I do believe that we would be doing our country a great disservice to elect Clinton as the democratic nominee or even worse the presidential nominee. How sad is it for our fellow countrymen to side with a hot headed, left wing Republican who may not even out live his presidency because of fear. Fear of what. That’s the question. What are the lesser of your two evils. I pray it’s not race or gender. We must be responsible in our choice for ourselves and our children’s children. Change begin within and we cannot change holding on the same ole politics, the same of way of thinking and same ole leadership…
——-
Exactly! It is my opinion that all candidates are ambitious and will promise anything to win. The winner (the executive branch) will find out that it isn’t easy to give the voters what he/she has promised during the election, because he/she needs the agreement of other people (the legislative) branch.
It also think that many people actually should not be allowed to vote, because so many don’t pay attention at all between elections, and then come election time they are swayed by looks or a sexy voice, etc.
As for change, racism won’t change overnight. It takes at least one or two generations. You can’t legislate to stop racism.
Should I send a sympathy card to the Demo candidate? I think I will - I feel sorry for him already
Tamlin,
You are wasting your time here. You know who will be the president. NOT Obama, is John McCain. Clinton supporters won’t vote for Obama for sure. No matter who is Dem candidate, John McCain will win.
My two cents…again!!!
Some men relate like men…some hang around women, and
enjoy the shock and disrespect…. tactics.
What’s up with that?? Oh yeah! boys will be boys..Hmmmm
Oh!!! the charade of cyberspace. Ha! Anywho!

You’re entitled to your opinion. She was the one who called me a fraud because I said I had friends who worked in Los Angeles and in the industry (as I do) who definitely confirm that Brad is supporting Obama like his buddy Clooney. She went on the attack. She does not know me. And she automatically assumed that I was a liar? How dare she? And what agenda? Cause you think it makes a difference to the Obama campaign or for that matter any campaign what I say on a celeb blof? Come on. I know better than this. Just as you all don’t have an agenda, I don’t either. I was making a point given the subject at hand - the link between Obama and Brad. And I further said that link is more connected since people who work for Clooney’s company have said Brad is supporting Obama. Do with it as you wish.

The beauty of America is that the candidacy is not guaranteed for anyone,. I find that cool. My mom comes from a country like Japan that is simply not as Democratic as the US so it is cool that here we never know. November 5 we will know. Not before that. For the record, Hillary has the biggest challenge because Obama has the most popular votes and if she gets the nomination - she will have a larger number of people not voting for her than vice versa. Again, the math is a fact: she can’t win unless superdelegates come in. Just a hard fact - has nothing to do with emotions. It is mathematically impossible. Either way it is exciting and I am inspired.
Obama ‘08! The people have already spoken loud and clear - the proof is in the numbers. No way around the math.

As Obama would say: won;t waste my time with your silly stuff. If you choose to believe that then so be it. My first point was simple: Brad is supporting Obama based on what some good sources told me then the attacks came cause god forbid Brad would do such a thing!!!! Silly stuff: enjoy it.
