Despite the reported $3-$6 million paid by People magazine for the photos of J.Lo’s twins, rumors are circulating that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s new baby photos will fetch almost double that!

Celebrities that put their kids deliberately in the public eye need their heads examined. I would never sell my children’s images. These kids have little chance of a normal life when mom and dad take money for putting them out there in the public arena. People (cough….justa mia…) don’t understand that if these celebrities don’t put there baby pictures out there first, some pesky paparazzi can get rich off some snapshot of their newborn baby. Selling the pictures to the highest bidding magazine puts the control in the hands of the celebrities- where the power should be.
I’d rather have a celebrity like Brad and Angelina get the money which they donate to charity rather than some intrusive pap making tons off of intrusive pictures.
Yolly (@11): I couldn’t agree more. I am not aware of any other celebrity couple who has donated the obscene amount of money they receive for the pix of their baby to charity. The rest can rot if they are pocketing the money, but the Jolie-Pitt’s at least try to do some good with our sick celebrity obsessed culture.

I think it is good to sell the pictures and get it over with. Otherwise these parents and newborns will be hounded till they get a baby picture and that would prevent them from taking the babies to parks, beaches etc.
It is good if they donate the money. It is just as fine if they pocket it. This is a capitalist society and whether we like it or not babies/children are also commodities. Don’t we sometimes use our children to get favors from our partners, parents… those are exchange relations too!!

If a magazine is willing to pay $10 milion for photos of Brad and Angie’s next baby, then I’m all for it. That means some charitable organizations are going to be on the receiving end of that windfall. I rather see the money land in the hands of organizations trying to help others, than in the hands of some paparazzi. And the same for JLo. If she and Marc decided to donate the rumored $6 million to charity, then all power to them.
When celebrity parents control the first photos, it gives the paparazzi little reason to hang around.

well, considering how much money the magazine that sells them will make - I’m all for it. plus, it’s probably less disturbing for the babies than being hunted by frenzied paparazzi for “that first image” of soandso.

There are pluses and minues to a celebrity putting their baby or babies on tabloid covers. For high profile celebs like Jlo or Angelina they know that the paps will follow them around - hound them until they get the money shot. So for the very in demand A-listers, I do understand it. However, for the B-listers and beyond I think it is gross. They use their pregnancies to gain attention for themselves and I see it as a form of Child Abuse. One of the worst offenders in using thier infant was Bridget Moynihan who is generally a D-list actress who dated prime A-celeb athlete in Tom Brady. They were a pretty low key low profile couple until she got pregnant and he, instead of marrying her, dated Gisele bundchen. Bridget, being bitter and not getting the man to marry her even with a planned pregnancy trap play, used her 4 week old baby boy to pose on Ok! with a most gross headline of ‘life without daddy’. So she used her son to hurt the father she wants but cannot have and to make more of a name for herself. Sick!

I do not believe it is arrogant for celebrities to think that magazines will pay for the pictures - it is just fact.
What do I think? Actually it is none of my business. If a magazine is willing and wants to pay them let them. If some one wants to accept the money that is fine with me. And what they do with the money is also their own business. They are under no obligation to fulfill the desires of the public in how they spend.
I only stick my nose (and rightfully so) in how the government or other government entities that I pay taxes to spend. Of if affects my own or my community or country personal welfare.
If getting paid for the “first” baby pictures is a way to prevent pap stalking and gain some control over the situation then I’m all for it. Please have the decency not to personally profit from the pics, though. Giving to charity is the only way to go.

I do think there is an element of absurdity to paying people millions of dollars for a picture of newborns…who often look alike at that phase. I understand it because paparazzi will hound to be the 1st ones to get the picture making normal life difficult. I do agree with donating that money to charity, especially to the millions of children who are suffering in the world. J-Lo does not need another $3 million to live more excessively.
I must say it is interesting how there are some celebrities/actors who don’t seem to have the same problem with the paparazzi. People like Tom Hanks, Denzel Washington, and Meryl Streep are all amazing actors who live normal lives. I think the paparazzi stalked stars are ones who like that level of attention to some degree. There are some who will just attract it naturally because of who they are…like Pitt and Jolie, but secretly I think the others like the ego boost it gives them to feel like they are so important that they are stalked.

I don’t think with celeb blogs like this and CBB, that first pictures being published will keep paps from hounding the celebs. There is always the first picture, but then they want the 2 month picture, the 4 month picture and on and on. I don’t think Jennifer wil be out much with her twins though. Twins are too high maintenance.

She will be out with the twins only for the occasional Kodak moments along with the baby nurses, body guards, drivers, nutritionists, stylists, make up artists, wardrobe handlers (we all know baby’s occasionally spit up),etc. She may need the $6 million to cover her everyday essentials. LOL. It is an unfortunate side effect of being a celebrity that everytime you step out in public you set youself up for public ridicule for every move you make. It seems to be a lose-lose situation. If they show their children too much they are publicity seekers and if they protect them by hiding them away, speculation arises that something is “wrong” with the baby.

When some women are pregnant their face changes a bit (fuller) and it is common for a pregnant woman’s nose to broaden a bit. It just takes some time to go back to normal.
This *I don’t know what to call her* is going to have some (a LOT of) other (furry) babies killed with that money. I DESPISE her for it.
But when the money goes to Brad & Angelina (before going to charity), I’m more than o.k. with it.
Jlos’ face and body will take a while to settle back to what it was pre pregnancy. She had twins just a few weeks ago for goodness sakes. Give her 6 months to be back in fashionable form. Looking at these pictures, she won’t even need six months. What made her huge were the babies and excess water, not fat. Now the babies are out, so she should almost be what she was before give or take 10-15 pounds. She always kept up with her dancing so she’s always in shape. She’s a disciplined person when it comes to health & fitness. She’s should write a book on that. As far as the money, I’m sure she’ll donate some to charity but won’t make a big deal about it. I like what Brad & Angelina did. They stated that the money would go to charity and that’s that. But the media, blogs and fans have gone on and on and on about it making it seem like a never ending reminder. Can you blame others for being sick to death about hearing about it? I stand by what I say. Andl these 2 should publicize it, would make them look less self-centred and selfish!! They must know what people are saying/thinking about them. They can’t be that stupid. And as for the theory that they need to release official pics or they’ll be hounded for that 1st baby shot, just pose on the hospital steps like some have done. Or arrange a “candid” outing at a time of their choosing and get it over with that way. These celebs all know how to play that game.

I actually watched her “Wanted” and boy! there’s so much people in theater and not enough seats. but it’s well worth watching, because I know she’ll never spend it like Jenifer. If it wasn’t for SELENA, hahah, she’s nowhere.
