Zac Efron is Gangster

Zac Efron is looking pretty thug in costume on the set of his new movie, 17 Again.

Producer Adam Shankman had this to say about this look: “When he first turns 17, he’s got this old 1989 haircut that is not the cutest Zac you’ve ever seen. But he is quite shirtless in much of the movie, which the female fans are going to be quite happy with because the boy has been working quite hard on it.”

Shirtless, ladies!! Zac Efron!! Shirtless!!

I agree tee.

I think it’s several factors, but mostly $ and it is Hollywood so money talks. Even if a beautiful film is made, if it’s backed by a relatively small, unknown studio how would they have the money to market, advertise, or release the movie on that many screens (hence why so many independent films are released in select cities on only a small amount of screens across the country)?

I wouldn’t worry, we’ll see the films eventually because even if they don’t come to certain countries, it will eventually be released on dvd (I hope!)

An independent movie does not have big budgets or a big studio like Disney or Paramount backing the movie being made. They get their funding elsewhere and don’t have as much money for it so that is why the movie doesn’t usually take as long to film as a big production like Star Wars or movies like that. The actors get less money but usually they take those movies because the script is good and the characters are interesting. Movies like Juno is an independent movie which hit big at the box office and many of the independent do. These movies often make the rounds at film festival in hopes that some distributor will buy it and supply the money to put it out on the big screen and promote it. But because of all of this we often see the little independent movies only in selected theaters in big cities and sometimes they end up going directly to DVD. However, Zac Efron is a big name right now. If 17 Again does well and HSM3, his name will still be hot so this movie will probably be in theaters—-even if limited.

I don’t think it’s a good thing to market a movie around the fact that your lead is shirtless in much of the movie. It kind of implies that there isn’t much meat to the movie and the only reason your going to spend $10 to see it is to see Zac without his shirt. Not that shirtless is bad, but if you wait for it on DVD it will only cost you $6.00 more and you can see him without his shirt anytime you want.

GOOD POINT KIERSTEN, BUT I DON’T THINK THAT’S HOW THEY’RE MARKETING THIS MOVIE. HE’S JUST SAYING THAT 2 GET PEOPLE(MOSTLY GIRLS) EXCITED ABOUT IT, SO THEY’LL LIKE U SAID SPEND MORE MONEY ON IT GOING 2 C IT IN THE CINEMAS AND NOT WAIT.
