OlderHayden Panettiere @ Genesis Awards 2008
After making a quick appearance at the Kids’ Choice Awards, Hayden Panettiere was honored at the 2008 Genesis Awards on Saturday night in Beverly Hills. (The event was produced by The Hollywood Office of the Humane Society of the United States.)
The Genesis Awards honors the news and entertainment media for showcasing animal protection issues. Hayden was honored with The Wyler Award for drawing worldwide attention to the cruelty of Japan’s whale and dolphin slaughter. The award, given to a celebrity who has made news on behalf of animals, is named after Genesis Awards founder Gretchen Wyler, the former Broadway headliner and animal activist, who died last year.
Said Beverly Kaskey, Senior Director of The Hollywood Office of The Humane Society of the United States: “We feel Hayden is a very worthy successor to Sir Paul McCartney, last year’s Wyler Award recipient. She’s an inspiring example to her generation, using her compassion, courage and celebrity to help animals in a very effective way.”

well deserved Hayden is awesome for taking her time to support this cause she is really an inspiration and she looks really pretty and normal ;)
Why is she recieving an award? Because she cried over those poor dolphins? Because she’s pretty and looks like jailbait? There are thousands of people in the world who have dedicated their lives to enviromental causes but, yeah, give it to the pretty tv bimbo and stroke her giant ego even more.
^#33 You obviously didn’t read the article because that award is for people in entertainment. There are many stars that just show up to charity events but Hayden has been with the save the whales foundation for some time and has put her words into action. She went to Japan to support the foundation, has made rallies and taken her cause to Washington D.C. Many people didn’t even know about commercial whaling a couple a months ago and that’s why I think her getting an award is great for helping spread the word.

This girl needs to start dressing her age! I know she’s dating a much older man and all but that does NOT mean she has to sacrifice her youth for it! She’s ALWAYS seen in dresses, dresseS, DRESSES! How abt a pair of jeans once in a while eh Hayden?

There are plenty of paparazzi pictures of her with jeans or sweats. This is her receiving an award what is she supposed to wear? She has always had the same style for events no matter who she was dating; that’s how she likes to dress so she’s not sacrificing anything. She doesn’t even dress bad but people just want to find anything to criticize.
