OlderEllen Pompeo: I Sold Vodka at the Age of 15
Grey’s Anatomy star Ellen Pompeo had a very interesting childhood story to tell on Friday’s The Late Show with David Letterman. Apparently, as a 15-year-old, Ellen sold Vodka to baseball fans at Fenway Park, the home ballpark of the Boston Red Sox baseball team.
On selling herself at such a young age: “I made a great living at Fenway when I was 15-years-old. There were lots of guys in the neighborhood and there were always these great job opportunities at the time. They all seemed very nice, innocent and fun!” (The audience laughed because of her suggestive implications.)
On how she got away with selling Vodka in public: “When I was 15, one particular man asked me if I wanted to make some money. He said, ‘All you have to do is sell slush outside of Fenway.’ I thought, ‘Now that sounds easy.’ They’d drive me to Fenway, set me up on the street with this nice cart and nice umbrella. And inside the cart, there were two flavors: lemon and watermelon. And then beside the two flavors was slush inside one of those big ketchup bottles. But there wasn’t ketchup in it, Dave. There was Vodka.”
On how she sold her product: “I used to stand around saying, ‘I got the special slush over here. Special slush!’ I’d [usually] give them one pump but if they gave me a few extra bucks, I’d give them two pumps.”
On not feeling guilty about selling alcohol: “Listen, I just gave them what they want. I had the longest line. There must have been 12 slush carts on the street. No one else had a line. I was the only one!”
On the possibility of being arrested: “I could have been in prison but all of the cops that were standing around didn’t seem to mind. They clearly knew what was going on. I was giving them slush too! You know those Boston police. Have you seen The Departed?”

lol its so funny, i guess KW fans, saying we are the worst cause if you try and say something bad about her….they do everything to basically try and kill you over the net, thanks guys. But they’ll turn a blind eye to it, it think its called you all being hyprocrites. (sorry if it was not spelt right, and i only brought KW into my post cause previous posters have)
I agree that she is akward in interviews, but thats just so her she has never been comfortable with the attention, unlike some actors she didn’t become one for the attention but her watnt to act and do something like what she is doing now.

I seen many posters on this thread who are EP fans and they are meanest posters I seen. The only time I see KW fans come out is out of defense first and foremost. They are always pedestalling…not see to see the shoe on the other foot. EP just caught trashing everyone under the sun in this interview….even her father….

I grew up in a rough area.
It seems to me that the reason some of the people on here are so quick to judge is because they clearly never had to earn their own money.
So she broke a few laws…. At least she didn’t rely on the ‘bank-of-daddy’ to give her everything.
Word #111. I’m not even a fan of anyone all the show, but I have noticed the KW fans only come out in defense. EP fans are the worst trash talking all GA girls and their fans. Nice to see the show on the other foot indeed. Now they vastly trying to backpeddle and praise EP even thought she just trashed everyone, and was just darn right boring. Yea, I can’t see her getting any jobs after GA cause she can’t act worth a damn.
Sounds to me everyone judges. It’s part of being human. There is nothing wrong with having a father take care of you. That’s their job IMO, but there sure in the hell something wrong with selling illegal liquor. Seriously, there are other jobs out there for 15 year old. Breaking the law is no excuse…it was lazy…and stupid..and in the end she just trashed talked Boston Police Department. btw, you’ll be surprised how many EP haters there are…….

I LOVE both actresses the same. Superb in their acting and they both seem to be very kind, nice, modest and funny people. But I guess that is impossible in your opinion and I don’t understand that. Why can’t I admire both? Why am I either a KW or EP fan? Why do their fans always - ALWAYS - seem to think that a hateful comment comes from the ‘opposing’ (for lack of better term) parties?

This storie was 18 years ago, I wasn’t even born, personally I don’t care what she did at this moment, legal or not, I’m not God to judge her!!!
The way she told her story was funny, she makes me laugh, she doen’t take herself seriously and it’s refreshing!!!! A lot of stars seem fake in their interview, EP is natural!!!
