Brad Pitt flies in from Texas to tape a special segment of Idol Gives Back at the Kodak Theatre on Sunday in Hollywood. (He’s been busy shooting his latest film, Tree of Life.)
Video footage of Bradley’s appearance will air on the American Idol special, IDOL GIVES BACK, airing this Wednesday, April 9 @ 7:30-10:00 PM ET/PT on FOX.

It was a night with no shortage of celebrities, including Miley Cyrus, Carrie Underwood, Robin Williams, Snoop Dogg, Fergie and many others, but the biggest treat for the audience at Sunday night’s taping for American Idol’s second annual Idol Gives Back broadcast was none other than Brad Pitt himself.
Though Brad’s involvement with the special, which seeks to use the hit show’s unmatched popularity to highlight and raise money for good causes around the world, had been announced at the beginning of the season, many had assumed his segment would be pre-taped and that he would not appear in person.
But, following a video clip of the Fight Club star touring the hurricane-devastated areas in and around New Orleans and talking to the children of displaced families in the area, the hunky star walked onto the stage of Hollywood’s Kodak Theater.
“The crowd went wild!” one audience member tells OK!. “The noise was deafening.”
And even though the screaming fans began to quiet down after Angelina Jolie’s baby-daddy gestured for everyone to calm down, you still couldn’t hear him — but only because his microphone wasn’t working!
This little tech snafu, which witnesses tell OK! had also happened earlier in the evening to fellow celeb guest Reese Witherspoon, was quickly remedied. And it even gave Idol’s stage manager Debbie Williams an opportunity of a lifetime. “I just needed a reason to touch him,” she joked to the audience.
The father-to-be’s appearance on the Idol stage was brief, but he did take the time to thank the fans before he introduced a video of former Idol finalist Chris Daughtry visiting the African nation of Uganda.

Brad Pitt was speechless when he walked onto the American Idol stage Sunday night — literally.
The crowd when wild when the actor took the stage at Hollywood’s Kodak Theater to tape a segment for Fox’s second annual Idol Gives Back special, making talking impossible.
The crowd jumped to their feet for the hunky superstar, whose efforts to help rebuild housing for families who lost everything in 2005’s Hurricane Katrina were recognized by show. (The broadcast will air Wednesday, April 9.)
After nearly 30 seconds of cheers, the 44-year-old Pitt — who was slated to introduce a film clip about former Idol contestant Chris Daughtry’s visit to Uganda — tried to say “thank you,” but his microphone wasn’t working.
That’s when Idol stage manager Debbie McVickers rushed up to see what was wrong.
As McVickers hurried to fix Pitt’s microphone, which had come unclipped from his shirt, she joked to the crowd about her “moment” with Pitt: “I just needed a reason to touch him.”
Then, when a female production assistant came out to make sure the mic was affixed properly, McVickers joked again, “We need more women to touch him.” Once properly wired for sound, Pitt was able to get through the introduction without a hitch.
Last year, the inaugural Idol Gives Back campaign raised more than $75 million for domestic and international charities. This year, producer Nigel Lythgoe told the audience minutes before the taping began that he “could feel” the show would crack the $100-million mark.
*****In fact, the show has already exceeded that amount thanks to a $200 million pledge by British Prime Minister Gordon Brown who, via a taped message, said the country would pay for 20 million mosquito nets for African families in need.******
The impact of the evening was not lost on Miley Cyrus, who, like others in the theater, learned that even ten dollars — the cost of one mosquito net — could make a difference in someone’s life. “There’s people that can give hundreds, thousands,” Cryus said. “[It's good] to have that self-power and be able to say, ‘Okay, no matter how much I’m putting in, I’m making a difference.’ “
Other big moments of the night include performances by Cyrus, Carrie Underwood, John Legend, Annie Lennox, Gloria Estefan and Mariah Carey. And Fergie’s rendition of “Barracuda” with Heart’s Ann and Nancy Wilson brought down the house.

Stupid stupid troll. Randy Jackson has been in NOLA, he is from the area, and visited MIR with Brad. He has also supported Brad’s MIR efforts. Randy asked Brad to be on the program and also pushed to make MIR one of the charity recipients this year. Brad has made all kinds of appearances on TV programs to support MIR, he has done all he can to help get people back in their homes, this is one of those efforts. Ryan had nothing to do with Brad or MIR.

Idol floor manager Debbie Williams stopped the show because the actor’s mic wasn’t working.

Miley Cyrus told Us she believed the number was attainable.
“It doesn’t matter if it’s a penny or a dollar or anything, it’s one more penny than they had before,” she said.
Added Carrie Underwood, “The opportunity will be presented to the

First off…
Looks like I was wrong about Brad appearing on Idol Gives Back; but… hee, hee… so was E News. Sorry if I was short with some posters about this issue.
Second… Brad didn’t share the stage with Peecrust so the insults will not cease (as if Brad and Peecrust sharing a stage would merit the cessation of Peecrust insults).
Third… anyone else think that TPTB had Peecrust tethered while Brad’s mike was being adjusted? Because, quite frankly, the only chubby I would want to see is the chubby of Brad Pitt’s rosy cheeks (face).

Brad Pitt has been in hollywood for almost 20 years and has remained humble and true to himself. Whereas his contemporaries, like Tom Cruise, George Clooney have grown egos and arrogance that are annoying. Brad’s appeal knows no bounds and is global. He is a megasuperstar and a movie icon.
Brad Pitt was speechless when he walked onto the American Idol stage Sunday night - literally. The crowd when wild when the actor took the stage at Hollywood’s Kodak Theater to tape a segment for Fox’s second annual Idol Gives Back special, making talking impossible.
The crowd jumped to their feet for the hunky superstar, whose efforts to help rebuild housing for families who lost everything in 2005’s Hurricane Katrina were recognized by show. (The broadcast will air Wednesday, April 9.)
After nearly 30 seconds of cheers, the 44-year-old Pitt - who was slated to introduce a film clip about former Idol contestant Chris Daughtry’s visit to Uganda - tried to say “thank you,” but his microphone wasn’t working.
That’s when Idol stage manager Debbie McVickers rushed up to see what was wrong.
As McVickers hurried to fix Pitt’s microphone, which had come unclipped from his shirt, she joked to the crowd about her “moment” with Pitt: “I just needed a reason to touch him.”
Then, when a female production assistant came out to make sure the mic was affixed properly, McVickers joked again, “We need more women to touch him.” Once properly wired for sound, Pitt was able to get through the introduction without a hitch.
Last year, the inaugural Idol Gives Back campaign raised more than $75 million for domestic and international charities. This year, producer Nigel Lythgoe told the audience minutes before the taping began that he “could feel” the show would crack the $100-million mark.
In fact, the show has already exceeded that amount thanks to a $200 million pledge by British Prime Minister Gordon Brown who, via a taped message, said the country would pay for 20 million mosquito nets for African families in need.
The impact of the evening was not lost on Miley Cyrus, who, like others in the theater, learned that even ten dollars - the cost of one mosquito net - could make a difference in someone’s life. “There’s people that can give hundreds, thousands,” Cryus said. “[It's good] to have that self-power and be able to say, ‘Okay, no matter how much I’m putting in, I’m making a difference.’ ”
Other big moments of the night include performances by Cyrus, Carrie Underwood, John Legend, Annie Lennox, Gloria Estefan and Mariah Carey. And Fergie’s rendition of “Barracuda” with Heart’s Ann and Nancy Wilson brought down the house.

Brad is so cool and nice. He’s pretty well regarded in Hollywood. I think mainly because he goes his own way. Now that he has a family is hands are mega full. There’s no room for anything else between his family work and humanitarian interests. Everything outside of that must seem pretty boring for him. I do think there is an Oscar down the road for brad but not for acting. Not that he isn’t good it’s just that he really seems to have an eye for developing intresting projects that I think he will get one as a producer. If things had been just slightly different, he would have gotten it for The Departed. That film winning best motion picture is enough. Brad’s name is the first that comes up in the credits for that Oscar Winning film. As a matter of fact, If GC is now being introduced as writer, director, Oscar winning actor and humanitarian, the least that reporters should be doing is intoducing Brad is a actor, producer of Oscar winning The Departed and critically accalimed A Mighty Heart as well as humanitarian. Those reporters need to step up their game or else 12 year olds are going to take their jobs very soon.

It was a night with no shortage of celebrities, including Miley Cyrus, Carrie Underwood, Robin Williams, Snoop Dogg, Fergie and many others, but the biggest treat for the audience at Sunday night’s taping for American Idol’s second annual Idol Gives Back broadcast was none other than Brad Pitt himself.
Though Brad’s involvement with the special, which seeks to use the hit show’s unmatched popularity to highlight and raise money for good causes around the world, had been announced at the beginning of the season, many had assumed his segment would be pre-taped and that he would not appear in person.
But, following a video clip of the Fight Club star touring the hurricane-devastated areas in and around New Orleans and talking to the children of displaced families in the area, the hunky star walked onto the stage of Hollywood’s Kodak Theater.
“The crowd went wild!” one audience member tells OK!. “The noise was deafening.”
And even though the screaming fans began to quiet down after Angelina Jolie’s baby-daddy gestured for everyone to calm down, you still couldn’t hear him — but only because his microphone wasn’t working!
This little tech snafu, which witnesses tell OK! had also happened earlier in the evening to fellow celeb guest Reese Witherspoon, was quickly remedied. And it even gave Idol’s stage manager Debbie Williams an opportunity of a lifetime. “I just needed a reason to touch him,” she joked to the audience.
The father-to-be’s appearance on the Idol stage was brief, but he did take the time to thank the fans before he introduced a video of former Idol finalist Chris Daughtry visiting the African nation of Uganda.
“Brad actually seemed quite shy,” one audience member tells OK! about the superstar’s cameo appearance.

Ryan Seacrest was in a charitable mood Sunday night: In addition to hosting FOX’s Idol Gives Back special, the host also handed over his paycheck for the evening.
A source close to Seacrest tells PEOPLE that he wanted to show fans that he was serious about the cause.
“When he and Simon went to Africa last year and saw the children, it was really life-altering for him,” says the source. “He just knew he had to do his part and be willing to put his money where his mouth is.”

I agree. Divorce is a better option than staying in a bad marriage, because you were afraid of what people would think (my parents generation). It is especially a non issue where both parties are rich, mature and have no children. Divorce is never easy for children even when they are grown, but even then, better to go your separate ways than live in constant tension and turmoil. Glad to live in these times.
When I think of wives that are murdered by their spouses, divorce seems the better choice IMO. I would like to know the age demographic of the people that bring up Brad’s marriage, it seems like a sentiment I would expect from folks who were raised in the 1920’s -1950’s. Since the 60’s, folks have been doing as they please.

I never did like the till death part phrase, I believe it was taken too literally. I don’t remember if it is still said, many couples today write their own vows, and I admit that most weddings I go to have been personalized in some way. My peers(late 50’s -60’s) and I may seem a little bit cold but to us divorcing without children is like a win/win add money to that recipe, we see no problem. Only exes mentioned in my group have children involved. Sooner or later you just stop talking about a failed marriage. Having children with somebody is always more complicated whether or not you are married, because you have a picture of that person in the flesh. Children can have characteristics of their parents whether they are raised with them or not. Worse children can have traits of your in laws lol. Angie and Brad will probably be together for a very long time if not forever, I mean they will be grandparents together! So be glad for the few couples that break up without dragging children into it. Also enjoy the love and equality of Angie and Brad’s relationship, I am glad it is a new day.

Ooooh….major sign of a dud is usually that they keep moving the release date. I know they moved the date of TAOJJ three times but each time was because of friction between Brad/Dominik/Scotts and WB over the cut and direction of the movie. But with Valkyrie I keep hearing rumblings that it totally sucks ass. I’ve seen at least 2 stories where people are laughing at TC not attempting the German accent. The reviews should be interesting when or if the move finally opens.

senior, those 5 year olds are like the energizer bunny - they just keep going and going. I’m so glad you get to spend time with them. Kids grow up sooo fast. I miss mine being little. I thought about you a couple of Saturdays ago, went to the mall with my two (son needed shoes, again) thought I was going to have a breakdown :roll: the place was jam packed, we had to park 50 miles from the entrance and of course, the boy didn’t like any of the shoes that were on sale. It took me days to recover. :D Have a good night’s sleep - the weekend is only four days away.

No I don’t watch a lot of shows last time I watched regular tv ,Quantum Leap was on . The only reality show I watch is Iron Chef America, it was hot in Kitchen stadium Sunday night battle coffee!!!.
I saw the clip that was posted here, I may watch AI just to experience the excitement for Brad from the Audience, but I don’t think I could watch an entire episode.

The New Orleans International Human Rights Film Festival will host a press conference with Academy Award-Winnning Director, Jonathan Demme, and the local stars of his acclaimed new documentary “Right to Return: New Home Movies from the Lower Ninth Ward,” on Wednesday, April 9th at 3pm at the Community Book Center, 2523 Bayou Road. The film screens April 9 at 7pm at John McDonogh Senior High School.
Mr. Demme will discuss his latest film, Right to Return, that chronicles the lives of dozens of unique New Orleans residents as they move to rebuild their lives post-Katrina. “This is an extremely personal project for me,” said Demme, who felt compelled as an American filmmaker to contribute to the record of the heroic efforts of people to restart their lives in the face of tragedy. “I wanted to be part of getting these stories out.” he said.
A post-screening discussion with the Director will take place following the screening. The screening of Right to Return is co-sponsored by the New Orleans Recovery School District.
The New Orleans International Human Rights Festival takes place April 9-20 in New Orleans.

She has the nerve to say that George is the perfect example/gold standard in terms of how celebs should conduct themselves. She also said that George and Sarah are as big a couple as Brad and Angelina. I kid you not!!

Seriously, Cruise has got to step up. He supposed to be running a movie company and yet, only one film was produced and distributed? If he’s going to run a movie studio, he needs to stop being myopic and start producing movies that doesn’t star him.
BTW… I also saw the trail for Pride and Glory (or whatever). It stars Edward Norton, Colin Farrell and JV. Something tells me that we’re in line for more reminders that a certain person hasn’t seen his grandchildren.

LOL. Sad but true. Here’s a story from today that just got my goat - guy calls me and says his network connection isn’t working. He was in another building and I’d have to schlep about 10 minutes to get there, so I decided to troubleshoot over the phone. So I had him checking a bunch of settings, the cables and getting some info for me. He says to me, “Well, I don’t understand why I’m doing this. I’ve never had to do it before!” I literally bit my tongue to keep from saying, “Listen ya dumb fcuker…you didn’t have a PROBLEM before…NOW you do! It’s called ‘troubleshooting’…now do what I tell ya and STFU!” But…nnnoooooooooooooooooo. I couldn’t say that to the user. So…I got online and was snarky to the trolls instead. Oh snap! Maybe that’s what Naomi Campbell needs to do…cuz clearly that Anger Management course didn’t work out for her….
Oh, Simon, Randy, Paula and Peecrust are on LK right now…I’m not watching it, but I’m sure they will mention Brad in some capacity…Peecrust gets a thrill every time his name rolls over the tongue. Just so you know, Porgie’s interview got a 10 page write up in the New Yorker.
In the write up:
(a) Sarah did deny she was a stripper etc. But Porgie didn’t say she wasn’t or anything like that.
(b) Porgie did say that Brad and Matt were his hollywood friends but not his closest circle of friends.
I never took much notice of Porgie, don’t like him or dislike him. Would go and see his movies if they appealed to me. However, as a Brad fan these days, it is disturbing to see how often he mentions Brad’s name - even though he is just a hollywood friend.
Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, George Clooney, Jodie Foster etc etc. They are ALL brand names, not just personal names. Every one of them have the right to be highly protective of the way their personal brand names are used. All companies and businesses are VERY VERY sensitive about the use of their own trademarks or brands.
The thing that turned me totally off was when Porgie used Brad’s name in the UN meeting fiasco. If I were Brad’s publicist, I wouldn’t be happy to have Brad’s name associated in any way to a UN fiasco which had NOTHING to do with Brad and had nothing to do with Hollywood. It’s all icky.

I liked Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day. The script could’ve been better, but overall, I was very satisfied with it. But then again, I’m a sucker for period movies, especially ones set in the 30s and 40s. Amy Adams, as usual, was adorable, and channeled Harlow, Lombard, Dunne, and all the other great screen ditzy dames. And Frances McDormand was good and kinda heartbreaking. The romances and friendships were sweet.
And I have to say that Lee Pace (the Piemaker from Pushing Daisies) was absolutely yummy in this movie. He’s a cutie on Pushing Daisies, but the camera absolutely loved him in this movie. I’m crushing on him, just a little.
BTW… Hollywood 411 pulled another goose egg; the only difference in their clip was that they showed a few seconds after she said she just wanted to touch Brad. She looked at the audience, with a very smug grin on her face, like she wanted to say ‘You ladies know what I’m saying.’

Where did Ryan Seacrest come from? I really don’t know he just popped up on TV. I don’t understand all the gay jokes directed at him either. (on Leno, talk soup everywhere) Did he win a contest or something? I don’t watch shows I hear he’s produced (the Kardashians, Girls Next Door, AI, E) Plus he is takes over **** Clark’s slot at new year’s. How did he do this? I have to get ready for bed but I will read the response in the AM, and I know the google it response but I want the whole unvarnished story.
