Brad Pitt flies in from Texas to tape a special segment of Idol Gives Back at the Kodak Theatre on Sunday in Hollywood. (He’s been busy shooting his latest film, Tree of Life.)
Video footage of Bradley’s appearance will air on the American Idol special, IDOL GIVES BACK, airing this Wednesday, April 9 @ 7:30-10:00 PM ET/PT on FOX.

Brad Pitt was speechless when he walked onto the American Idol stage Sunday night — literally.
The crowd when wild when the actor took the stage at Hollywood’s Kodak Theater to tape a segment for Fox’s second annual Idol Gives Back special, making talking impossible.
The crowd jumped to their feet for the hunky superstar, whose efforts to help rebuild housing for families who lost everything in 2005’s Hurricane Katrina were recognized by show. (The broadcast will air Wednesday, April 9.)
After nearly 30 seconds of cheers, the 44-year-old Pitt — who was slated to introduce a film clip about former Idol contestant Chris Daughtry’s visit to Uganda — tried to say “thank you,” but his microphone wasn’t working.
That’s when Idol stage manager Debbie McVickers rushed up to see what was wrong.
As McVickers hurried to fix Pitt’s microphone, which had come unclipped from his shirt, she joked to the crowd about her “moment” with Pitt: “I just needed a reason to touch him.”
Then, when a female production assistant came out to make sure the mic was affixed properly, McVickers joked again, “We need more women to touch him.” Once properly wired for sound, Pitt was able to get through the introduction without a hitch.
Last year, the inaugural Idol Gives Back campaign raised more than $75 million for domestic and international charities. This year, producer Nigel Lythgoe told the audience minutes before the taping began that he “could feel” the show would crack the $100-million mark.
*****In fact, the show has already exceeded that amount thanks to a $200 million pledge by British Prime Minister Gordon Brown who, via a taped message, said the country would pay for 20 million mosquito nets for African families in need.******
The impact of the evening was not lost on Miley Cyrus, who, like others in the theater, learned that even ten dollars — the cost of one mosquito net — could make a difference in someone’s life. “There’s people that can give hundreds, thousands,” Cryus said. “[It's good] to have that self-power and be able to say, ‘Okay, no matter how much I’m putting in, I’m making a difference.’ “
Other big moments of the night include performances by Cyrus, Carrie Underwood, John Legend, Annie Lennox, Gloria Estefan and Mariah Carey. And Fergie’s rendition of “Barracuda” with Heart’s Ann and Nancy Wilson brought down the house.

Stupid stupid troll. Randy Jackson has been in NOLA, he is from the area, and visited MIR with Brad. He has also supported Brad’s MIR efforts. Randy asked Brad to be on the program and also pushed to make MIR one of the charity recipients this year. Brad has made all kinds of appearances on TV programs to support MIR, he has done all he can to help get people back in their homes, this is one of those efforts. Ryan had nothing to do with Brad or MIR.
Ignorance and stupidity = thy name is trolls.

The real Idol at Sunday’s taping of Idol Gives Back? Brad Pitt!
When the actor, 44, hit the stage at Hollywood’s Kodak Theater, the crowd wouldn’t stop screaming, one attendee tells Usmagazine.com.
Idol floor manager Debbie Williams stopped the show because the actor’s mic wasn’t working.
As she tried to attach his mic, she joked, “I just needed a reason to touch him!”
Pitt - whose efforts to rebuild New Orleans were recognized on the show - then erupted out in laughter.
The screaming continued, as he introduced a video of rocker Daughtry. (See Pitt through the years here.)
Robin Williams, who also presented, even joked, “I want Brad and Angelina to adopt me!”
The show airs Wednesday on Fox.
Last year, Idol Gives Back raised more than $75 million for charities worldwide. This year, producer Nigel Lythgoe wants to rake in $100 million.
Miley Cyrus told Us she believed the number was attainable.
“It doesn’t matter if it’s a penny or a dollar or anything, it’s one more penny than they had before,” she said.
Added Carrie Underwood, “The opportunity will be presented to the
world to call in and donate money and hopefully a few people will rise to that occasion.”

First off…
Looks like I was wrong about Brad appearing on Idol Gives Back; but… hee, hee… so was E News. Sorry if I was short with some posters about this issue.
Second… Brad didn’t share the stage with Peecrust so the insults will not cease (as if Brad and Peecrust sharing a stage would merit the cessation of Peecrust insults).
Third… anyone else think that TPTB had Peecrust tethered while Brad’s mike was being adjusted? Because, quite frankly, the only chubby I would want to see is the chubby of Brad Pitt’s rosy cheeks (face).
Fourth… Brad is one handsome son of a gun with the extra weight. I wanna pinch his face cheeks!! And his eyes are smiling… yummy!!
