Brad Pitt flies in from Texas to tape a special segment of Idol Gives Back at the Kodak Theatre on Sunday in Hollywood. (He’s been busy shooting his latest film, Tree of Life.)
Video footage of Bradley’s appearance will air on the American Idol special, IDOL GIVES BACK, airing this Wednesday, April 9 @ 7:30-10:00 PM ET/PT on FOX.

Brad Pitt is making it right all around, his movie career hot, his humanitian work admirable and his family life solid and happy. His star is bright where others star are fading into oblivion. Some can’t just handle the truth.

Brad Gives Back!

It was a night with no shortage of celebrities, including Miley Cyrus, Carrie Underwood, Robin Williams, Snoop Dogg, Fergie and many others, but the biggest treat for the audience at Sunday night’s taping for American Idol’s second annual Idol Gives Back broadcast was none other than Brad Pitt himself.
Though Brad’s involvement with the special, which seeks to use the hit show’s unmatched popularity to highlight and raise money for good causes around the world, had been announced at the beginning of the season, many had assumed his segment would be pre-taped and that he would not appear in person.
But, following a video clip of the Fight Club star touring the hurricane-devastated areas in and around New Orleans and talking to the children of displaced families in the area, the hunky star walked onto the stage of Hollywood’s Kodak Theater.
“The crowd went wild!” one audience member tells OK!. “The noise was deafening.”
And even though the screaming fans began to quiet down after Angelina Jolie’s baby-daddy gestured for everyone to calm down, you still couldn’t hear him — but only because his microphone wasn’t working!
This little tech snafu, which witnesses tell OK! had also happened earlier in the evening to fellow celeb guest Reese Witherspoon, was quickly remedied. And it even gave Idol’s stage manager Debbie Williams an opportunity of a lifetime. “I just needed a reason to touch him,” she joked to the audience.
The father-to-be’s appearance on the Idol stage was brief, but he did take the time to thank the fans before he introduced a video of former Idol finalist Chris Daughtry visiting the African nation of Uganda.
“Brad actually seemed quite shy,” one audience member tells OK! about the superstar’s cameo appearance.

brad looks gorgeous. he seems so fulfilled, he is such a hands on involved father, he is in a loving relationship, he is still acting, and he is involving himself in humanitarian efforts. he looks so happy. God bless him and his family. i think hats look nice on some men and brad pitt could pull off any look. he dresses in his own style and that is very sexy. i can’t believe some people would come on a thread about doing the right thing and being philanthropic and criticize. really petty and small.
