OlderGwyneth Paltrow Will Work For Food (Bank)
Gwyneth Paltrow (in vintage YSL) keeps things interesting in gladiator-esque heels at the 2008 Can-Do Awards Dinner at Pier 60 at NYC’s Chelsea Piers on Monday. The event marked the 25th Anniversary of the hunger-relief program, Food Bank For New York City.
Food Bank NYC unfortunately has seen a sharp drop in food donations over the past year: “We have less food in our warehouse. We’re practically seeing empty shelves every week in the warehouse, when we used to be brimming over and able to turn food around really quickly. What that means is that there’s less food in food pantries and soup kitchens around the city, and you literally have people standing in line for hours at a time waiting for food, only to be turned away because the food runs out.”

I think she looks really good. Her hair and make up look good and the dress is pretty. But the shoes look like she is wearing ankle braces or something. UGLY…

gp tries too hard, she used to go for a classic look and now she is trying to hard to be “fashionable” and it mostly backfires. it’s because she doesn’t have the face to pull off such different looks. she is attractive, pretty even, but nowhere near gorgeous. heidi klum could pull that outfit off, or say, angelina jolie. gp just doesn’t cut it in the looks dpt.
she used to look so much more chic when she pulled her hair off of her face and wore calvin klein, donna karen, the classic styles flatter her much more. she also looks better with more color on her face, like in her earlier days, the muted look just makes her looked washed out.

She has one of the plainest faces ever - blotchy pasty complexion, scraggly uneven eyebrows, and lips that are too thin. She’s one of the few in Hollywood that hasn’t had plastic surgery, but could benefit from it.
I do not find her skinny body attractive; too large frame, too bony.
If the dress were a different color and didn’t emphasize the bonyness of her chest, it would probably look cute.

How anyone can call this woman ugly is beyond me. The shoes are hideous and would probably be hideous on anyone, but she looks fantastic. Except for the middle part which is rarely flattering on anyone. In some of the pictures she is absolutely striking.
I hate it when people say “real women” have curves. Real women come in all different shapes and sizes. A “real woman” would know and appreciate that.

Did you know that these bums get welfare checks mailed right to the banks and the banks cash them without any question? Try that with your own payroll checks, tell your employer to just mail the check to the bank, then show up at the bank and leave with your cash. Sasha - I’m happily a woman with curves of my own. But I also know better than to think that everyone is built exactly the same way. There are plenty of “real women” out there who are thin and not curvy at all, just as there are plenty who aren’t thin with extra curves. But thanks for the completely off-base opinion. Once again you’ve shown your true colors. Makes me think that perhaps you’re the one who is actually a man, since men are the ones to tend to generalize about women, dearest. Generalizations are a lazy person’s argument.
I don’t see what’s so bad about saying women have curves. Funny how everyone is a woman on the Internet or accusing others of being a man. I think the Gwynnie brigade just enjoys arguing. I can usually find curves or softness on just about any woman; it’s not hard. Real women, different bodies and yes, curves.

There is nothing wrong with saying that women have curves - which is exactly my point. The problem I have is with people saying that women who don’t fit a specific description, i.e., tall and lean with fewer curves, aren’t really women for whateve reason. I think we have things like Maxim and Playboy to thank for that mindset and I’m amazed when I see or hear fellow women subscribe to the notion. Sasha isn’t even the one who said it initially, but he/she sure took offense to my stating otherwise. Curious.
