Vanessa Hudgens @ Idol Gives Back

High School Musical stars and BFFs Vanessa Hudgens and Ashley Tisdale were on American Idol last night for a hot second. To help raise money for Idol Gives Back, Ashnessa said,

“Hey everyone, we’re in Utah on the set of High School Musical 3, so we can’t be there tonight but we wanted to wish you all good luck.

“Remember, there are people all over the world who need food, shelter and medicine. Tonight, we can all do somethingn for them. Kids, dig into your piggy banks and parents, dig into your wallets.

“We’re all in this together, so pick up that phone and do whatever you can. Good night and thank you!”

I’m glad they lended their celebrity to a good cause. But, what’s with the solo mention of only Vanessa in your title when this clip also includes Ashley (who is in the above picture as clear as daylight) Jared? Don’t want to complain or moan about it- but it was a joint effort.

I was really impressed with the number of celebrities that came out last night for the fundraiser, and it’s always nice to see Ashley and Vanessa together, especially for a good cause! They look happy and relaxed, after a few months of hellish schedules and traveling!

I’m not American and know nothing about the tabloids or the Media out there so please tell me something: were Zac and Vanessa the first stars to have a “couple nickname” or was it common there to use names like “Brangelina”, “Jashley” and things like that before the name “Zanessa” was created by fans? Because I find using these nicks quite annyoing. Sure, it is easier to write “Ashnessa” or “Vashley” but it really drives me crazy.

Of course, I love the name “Zanessa” because I think it is original in a way but I’m not so sure Zac and Vanessa actually fancy it. I know they said they find it funny and crazy but I belive they would rather be Zac and Vanessa, don’t you think?

So, what’s the origin of these “couple nicks”?

I live in the UK and I think the first time I heard such was ‘Brangelina’ referring to Brad and Angelina.

Some of the name combinations are hilarious, I guess I’m just indifferent to them, they don’t really bother me. However, as you said, I don’t think Vanessa and Zac really like it. Recently, I’ve been trying not to use it personally just to recognise that they are still separate individuals even though they are a couple.

Having said that, it’s so widespread that they have to learn not to mind. i don’t think any harm is meant by it.
