Russell Crowe is a Biker Boy
Russell Crowe rides his bike around Beverly Hills, doing a little shopping for his kids at Tom’s Toys on Thursday.
Russell will be starring in the upcoming film State of Play, which is based off a BBC mini-series.
The film tells of a newspaper’s probe into the suspicious death of a United States Congressman’s mistress.
Ben Affleck and Russell Crowe are appearing in the lead roles, with support from Helen Mirren, Jason Bateman, and Rachel McAdams.
State of Play will be released in April 2009.

What doesn’t show in these pix but you can see in video of this situation, there are about 20 paparazzi who see Russell and try to chase him… but pedal power saves the day, as Russell and his assistant Keith take off, leaving the papz huffing and puffing behind on foot.
In a city like LA, bikes are better than cars or foot power to escape the hoards of photographers… plus it’s good exercise, which can only benefit Russell, who’s been looking a bit chunky in pictures lately.
He’s such a great actor, I hate to see him looking less than his best, though some of the weight may have been for recent film roles, as he’s been working on two of them recently. In an interview, Ridley Scott said that he asked Russell to gain 30 pounds for Body of Lies, in which he plays a 50ish CIA man opposite Leo DiCaprio. In State of Play, which just wrapped, he’s playing a scruffy reporter.
Crowe’s rather famous [or infamous] for changing his body shape, hair length and appearance for various roles. He’s a dedicated actor, but I’m sure it’s always more fun to put weight on, than take it off.
It´s nice that he loves and cares for his little boys - but must he dress like a child too lol lol? Crowie has the most appalling taste in clothes! He is an interesting actor though!
