“Sneakernight” is off of V’s new sophomore album.

I’m so late but happy birthday Troy.
Nancy#538, true words indeed. It’s no secret I’m loving the song and her vocals. However, like you, I’ve observed that it’s mostly tweens who don’t like the song. They don’t realise that by coming here to say the song sucked, rather than offending fans what they are doing is proving that Vanessa is finally moving beyond them to appeal to older and mature fans. My colleagues who are in their late twenties and early thirties really love the song as dance music.
I think if fans request the song enough on mainstream radio, it can very well and she can draw in new fans. Like so many people have mentioned before, what I’m happiest about is the maturity in her vocals and the courage to try something different and show her versatility.
I also really loved her interview, it just made me love her all the more. Especially when she said that she’s loving playing the drums and how they’re good for anger management! It was really sweet too when she thanked her fans for always standing up for her.
Naomi #553, Well said,Well said. I agree with Nancy also in that Vanessa’s mature sounding vocals in this song will surely garner her more mature fans. But frankly, the lyrics and title itself should appeal to the tweenies, the vocals and soulfulness of the song ,the adults and the dance rythm and beat to both young and old.
This song didn’t grow on me, it was an instant hit. She gave me what I was hoping for and didn’t dissappoint.
Yes, listening to her interview made me realize she’s still very young and that she does value and appreciate her fans and that she and Ashley are as close as best friends can be.
The Ashley Tisdale fans who come on here just to bash Vanessa are the Tweenies and I understand where they’re coming from. Reasoning, tolerance and understanding the complexities of human nature is not in their vocabulary yet.

I’d just like to say I love this song and my daughter loves this song and judging from other comments it seems to be appealing to all ages which is great. As for the lyrics, well it has more lyrics than most dance numbers and I love that about it too. Since when did dance songs have meaningful lyrics ?

ugh. sure the lyrics look okay, but if you heard the song, it’s absolutely horrible. her voice is 100% digitalized in the song or at least it sounds that way. M magazine just did a poll of this and 86% of the people who voted HATED it. better re-think this one vanessa
