M magazine’s “readers” always “vote” against Zanessa or HSM.
I hate this one.

When has M magazine become a credible source of real opinions? It sounds as chidish as its readers. Personally, I’ve never heard of it and couldn’t care less. The poll will not affect Vanessa in anyway.

After sampling a lot of adults’ favorable opinions on Vanessa and her single, I really really really really hope that after HSM 3, she cuts all known ties with Disney and it’s associated companies. She should focus on the indie scene or in fact any other scene as long as it has nothing to do with Disney. It’s better to start small and be respected by the adult population and critics than to be a teen sensation, seen as a draw for tweens. Then, she can have a meaningful career that she would enjoy even if she is not ‘big’. When it comes to mainstream, not many stars are really big but at least they have respectable careers.

i really like how this song is just..different. not that i didn’t like her previous album, but you just get a little tired of hearing the same thing, and now it’s something fresh and new. and i think this album is gonna be a whole lot better. plus who knows? (for the haters) you might like her other songs. alot of people just expect that one voice and style from vanessa but she’s doing the style that SHE wants to do now. and i love that. :)

I agree Tee. I was referring more to the tween targeted movies. Having said that, she still needs to move away from Disney. If you’re not an established actor like Johnny Depp or Denzel Washington (established in non-disney movies), Disney is not the best place to be as they are more interested in teen sensations than real talent.They would remain only interested in you if you can deliver that, if not, or you refuse to conform, they lose interest. Look at Orlando Bloom, he is still struggling to be taken seriously as an actor. Keira knightley had the good sense to branch out to more complex roles.

While Vanessa got her big break from Disney, to develop herself she needs to leave as Disney will never give her the opportunities she needs or promote her except she’s ready to play the whole ‘I’m a Disney princess and I’m 12′ game.

I just don’t think the children’s movies division of Disney is the best place for any talented artist wanting to build a meaningful mainstream career especially if you don’t want to do the whole teen sensation thing.

Don’t worry, the word “sneakernight” isn’t even on Urban Dictionary (yet). Though, according to this new single from High School Musical starlet Vanessa Hudgens (a.k.a. The Most Relatable Surname in Teen Pop), the term is pretty self-explanatory — a night of partying and dancing involving people wearing sneakers on their feet. “Basically what we’re gonna do is dance,” sings Hudgens. And it all seems innocent enough — but that “basically” makes us think there may be more to these sneakernights than mere dancing. The innuendo is there for those who want to hear it (”Put your sneakers on / Let’s go all night long!”). Teens will dance (and giggle), parents will overpay for the concert and all will be right with the teen pop universe.

M magazine just did a poll of this and 86% of the people who voted HATED it. better re-think this one vanessa

hated it? i dont blame them really. i was really dissapointed myself.. but the song has grown on me.. hmm. the only thing i actually like is that they’re actually letting her use her vocals for this album.. unlike her debut album.

100% digitalized? not really.

it seems they make the wrong choices with Vanessa’s singles.

For example, in her debut. Lets Dance would have easily been a better single that the other two.. :/

i love it! it’s so cool, ‘basically what we’re gonna do is dance’ this song makes me wanna dance haha, it’s kind step up (movie) song, isn’t it? haha. love her, i’m waitnig for her new album! :).

are you serious? first of all the lyrics and premise of the song is sooo idiotic, and she can’t sing at all, but luckily that doesn’t matter anymore in the music business. its horrible, her voice sounds worse than normal. its all nasally , and awkward sounding.
