“Sneakernight” is off of V’s new sophomore album.

To all the ppl complaining about the lyrcis - since when did a dance/pop song need to have deep and meaningful lyrics?!?

Are you people serious? It’s really not about sneakers at all! What is she going to say? HighheelNight? Yeah… just listen to it more than once. The first time i was like “…………………………. huh?” but then the 3rd time i loved it. It’s different. That’s good… last i checked.
Hopefully they get this out on the radio cause then i know it’ll be a magor hit among fans and non fans.

guys, you cant expect her to sing like just songs. i mean she’s not miley cyrus who can sing about kids stuff. she’s 19 this year and ofcourse she’ll sing more mature stuff. i love this song, the beat is rocking. you guys said it wasnt that good cause it’ not really her stuff. like she said, her style is ever changing. would you like to hear her sing the same type of songs over and over again? its like more jazzier and stuff. its different and its nice.

i thought the song was awesome and nessas voice has gotten better:) the lyrics were a little weird but the beat is so catchy:) the reason why i think some people didnt like was because its some thing we are not used to hearing but i LOVED IT!!!!!!

As I said in the first thread: Vanessa sounds amazing, it has a great dance beat, and I can totally see someone from Dancing With the Stars doing a dance routine to the song. I really like songs that have great lyrics and moves me in that way BUT this song isn’t meant to be that kind of song. It is meant to dance to and get your body moving—to give you a certain feel and put you in an upbeat mood. It was not meant to be a life-changing type song. So, if all you haters have to go on is that the words are terrible you will have to complain about a lot of music out there right now. And if that is what you are complaining about then I suspect you just want to say something negative about Vanessa.
I think she may have wanted to release something totally different than what was on her first CD so she could show she was versatile and liked different kinds of music—something more than ballads and love songs, etc.
#99 Naomi, I’m with you on that. Vanessa’s vocals have matured. Forget about the lyrics. Since when did a Dance number have to be meaningful?! Remember the song, I’m too Sexy.? What about Umbrella, ella, ella, eh,eh.? Just because Jared posted the lyrics, we are nitpicking here. C’mon try listening to the lyrics of other hits especially the fast, hip, dance numbers and see if you can make sense out of them. Jared always did like a bit of controversy, I still can’t get over the “Fiercification of Zac Efron” a pic of Zac’s head superimposed on Celine Dion’s Bod.

Yes, Karen, those that don’t like Vanessa for whatever reason, are just nitpicking here. If the lyrics were right, they’ll go for her voice or the musical arrangement. But her voice here is great and has the right ingredients and the music too. So it has to be the lyrics. What can I say.
