OlderLuke MacFarlane: I’m Gay
Canadian actor Luke MacFarlane reveals that he is gay in an exclusive interview with Canadian paper Globe and Mail.
“I don’t know what will happen professionally,” MacFarlane said. “That is the fear, but I guess I can’t really be concerned about what will happen, because it’s my truth. … There is this desire in L.A. to wonder who you are and what’s been blaring for me for the last three years is how can I be most authentic to myself - so this is the first time I am speaking about it in this way.”
In next month’s season finale of Brothers & Sisters, Luke, 28, will suit up and say his vows as his character, Scotty Wandell, marries his partner, Kevin Walker.
“From a standing outside perspective, and also as someone who is gay, I think that it’s a very exciting time,” MacFarlane said. “How exciting that we’re saying, ‘This can be part of the cultural fabric, now,’ because it is two series regulars, two people that you invite into your home and you see every week. It’s telling of the beginning of more waves and I’m very proud of that.”
When asked whether or not he was currently dating anyone, Luke declined to comment. And although Luke is not a paparazzi favorite, photogs did catch him hanging out with Prison Break hottie Wentworth Miller last summer.

If you’re going to speculate then probably best to speculate about accurate dates. Luke’s father died on the 14th December, the family received friends at the funeral chapel on the 18th (same day as the pics of Went shopping) and the funeral itself was held on the 19th.

“I didn’t think i’d have to say this again. I posted earlier, in January maybe, that Luke is somebody I’ve known for several years and he NEVER dated Miller. At the time he was photog with Miller he was in a relationship with D.G. who is a painter and a musician like me. I know them both and they joked about the story. Luke even said that he didn’t know much about Miller who was polite and friendly but very secretive. He doesn’t know if Miller is gay or not. Don’t believe me if you like and carry on speculating, I don’t care.

Just a thought, but what if Wentworth didn’t go to the funeral because that would potentially have made it into a circus all about him?
Imagine if someone had taken photographs of the two of them together there? Then a very sad and private family moment would have become the subject of massive internet traffic and rumors.
Wentworth certainly looked sad and preoccupied in those photographs taken on the 18th December — and he could have gone shopping in order to get out of the house and occupy himself.
I’m not saying this is the reason why he didn’t go to the funeral with Luke, but it’s a possibility.

First of all, all the haters out there who keep saying that Wentworth is gay, calling people like me, deniers, and idiots and $#!t, you are the ones in denial, you are the idiots and you are the delusional ones. Wentworth has said time and time again that he is NOT gay. Not only has Wentworth repeatedly gone on record as saying that he is NOT gay. But his friend and co-star, Dominic Purcell has gone on record in an Austrailian radio interview as well. Stating that “Wentworth is not gay!”

As for the “deviant” comment, I don’t know how old you are but I didn’t officially call it that. Psychology books call it deviant and yes, I’m cool with that. I adore Luke. He’s a cutie and his character on B&S is awesome. I’m not surprised he’s gay though. I assumed he was. Good for him for coming out publically.
I find it doubtful that it’s an open secret in Hollywood that Went is gay. He would not be so stupid as to repeatedly say he likes women. Plus some of his castmates have also stated he’s straight when asked about it, and even laughed about the question.
On an ET Canada interview (June 2006) when asked if he has time to see anyone special, and Went said he’d like to have a wife and kids down the line. There was no need for him to even say that. He could have said, “I hope to find someone special, but right now, work is my priority.” He volunteered the wife and kids info.
