Although I love Vanessa and think she’s talented and beatutiful, recently I don’t like her interviews at all. For example, in Seventeen magazine she claimed herself ‘more than just a pretty face’ and last week she said she ‘loved her new album’ and ‘listened to it all the time’. In this interview she thinks paparazzi are the measure of stardom. Hell, no!

I know that we have to believe in ourselves and concentrate on our positive features but for me it’s a bit much of her. I mean it’s cool that she knows her true identity and proud of herself (which is understandable and I’m very proud of her too) but I think she should let other people praise her work/character/skills/etc.

Let’s think about Zac, as an opposite example. In Details he said that he doesn’t hate the paps, however could live without them. Or watch the video interview for the same magazine he made in February where he said he was just a ’small-town guy’ who was ’still growing up’. I know that he’s older than Vanessa but he also seems much more mature sometimes. I mean he kind of respects his background more and knows exactly where he comes from.

I think Vanessa has to learn to be a bit more modest. Because in the end it’s better to be humble than cocky. Confidence is a real treasure, something that many people don’t feel but confidence isn’t the answer to everything: sometimes it’s better to back off and give the audience moderate but still true answers. Just like Zac does.

I love you Vanessa, I really do. I’m your fan and want only the best for you that’s why I warn you now. I understand your ‘confident, independent young woman’ image but please think about your future and be a little more level-headed. Thank you.

PS. Did Details seriously ask her about her scandal back in last Spetember? Please! I can understand if she’s fed up with this topic. But I think before everyone goes to an interview the managers and the representatives of the press sit down and talk about the topics they can cover. Why cannot they move on from the pics she made and concentrate on her career? And why cannot her manager save her from questions like that? I have no idea… But I hope people would forget about this issue some day because now it’s really boring and annoying at the same time.

Vanessa everytime you open your mouth you prove to the world just how stupid you are. Go away, boring child.

I really don’t think Vanessa is trying to come off as cocky. I think she’s naturally courageous, confident and strong, and that’s what has helped her get through the negatives and has brought her as far as she’s come and will take her even further.

She’s always said how grateful she is for all her fans and the way they stand up for her. She acknowledges that without her fans, she wouldn’t be where she is today. She’s just 19 and is not quite as polished as Zac at giving interviews, but she is just as sincere - even though it sometimes doesn’t come out that way. So let’s cut her some slack….she’ll get better. Wishing her all the best and I will always stand up for her.

P.S. Maybe we need to wait until the entire interview in Details comes out before we pass judgment.

About her referring to herself as not another pretty face: Anyone of you there in the real world know if you are attractive or not—you know, what I mean, if the general public sees you as good looking. You don’t have to sing “I’m so pretty” but if you try to say, “I’m not that good looking” then that doesn’t come off as being very truthful either. When she made the reference to “not just another pretty face” she didn’t dwell on the fact she is pretty. It was more like “there are numerous pretty faces in this town, I know it, but I want people to know I can be more than what so many other people are too in this town—pretty faces are a dime a dozen.” She didn’t make it sound like she thought she was the PRETTIEST or the ONLY one who is pretty. So, I don’t see that comment as being so cocky.

As for Zac, when he says things like there are many others who have brown hair and blue eyes, it makes him sound very modest, that’s true. BUT I’m sure the young man knows he is attractive—he has a mirror. And it is easy for him to say the line about there are others with brown hair and blue eyes because it is so true. That sounds like a very common description. WIth Vanessa it is a little different because she doesn’t have the same type look. She is not the ordinary dark brown-haired girl with brown eyes. Like so many say, she has a more exotic look about her due to her mixed heritage—and it makes her stand out.

Lastly, about Details asking her about photo, just be assured that 10 years from now when she does an interview with some big magazine, someone will most likely ask that question or bring it up in the narrative. I remember Barbara Walters saying once when she was getting ready to do an interview with Lawrence Olivier how he told her he would NOT answer any questions about Vivian Leigh and if any were asked that he would leave the interview and it would be over. You know what? At the end of the interview, even Barbara Walters asked Olivier about Vivian Leigh. I guess they just can’t help themselves and tehy think they are smart because like Walters, she left the question until after she got the rest of the interview. What Sir Larry should have said, IF you ask me a question about this at anytime during the interview then you will forfeit the ENTIRE interview and not get to air any of it.
