Vanessa Hudgens - “GQ” May 2008

Here is a new photo of Vanessa Hudgens from the May 2008 issue of GQ via Popstar. ~~(Ashton Kutcher is on the cover.)~~

“If you have paparazzi, you know you’ve gotten somewhere,” the 19-year-old High School Musical star says.

When asked about her nude photo scandal, Vanessa shrugs it off, sayin, “Honestly, you have your ups and downs. But it’s over with and it’s done.”

As for her sophomore album, tentatively titled Identified, she says, “But not to the point where I’m singing I’m so hot! I’m so hot! Boys want me. I’m so hot!”

Vanessa and the gang (including Zac Efron) are currently at a top secret location in Utah shooting the feature film, High School Musical 3.

UPDATE: This new picture is in the May 2008 issue of GQ, not Details!

But, yes, I know it’s derivative of Jealousy. Also, Hate is an awful word and a strong emotion that eventually takes over one’s emotions, which can lead to disastrous events to not only the one hating, but to others close to them… YIKESSSSS!!!

i like Vanessa but I totally agree with some of your comments about her answers during her interviews. Her answers are answers of a teenager - which she is. She tells it just like it is. Maturity comes with age and experience. Just give her time and she’ll be rockin’ her interviews.

lilly, you made a lot of good points in your post. however, what we have to remember sometimes is that they don’t always edit these articles to accurately reflect what the person’s real thoughts are. in the past, vanessa has said that she doesn’t like the paparazzi attention at all. however, when stars complain about paparazzi too much, then the public seems to criticize them for being spoiled (in that, you can’t have it both ways).

i think what she is trying to say is that she appreciates where she’s come in her career and she acknowledges that paparazzi comes along with that. i think she’s trying to be careful not to sound bitter.

#59- Thank you for saying your opinion in such a mature manner :) I know others won’t agree, and in all honesty I don’t know where I stand but it was refreshing to see a candid point of view without resorting to name calling/being nit-picky.

I’m going to try saying this without shooting myself in the foot but I think that Zac is favored in the media. I’m not thinking he has asked for this, or seeks it. But, because he is rather reserved, he has been featured on a few prestigious covers (Rolling Stones and Details), and he is very tight lipped about his girlfriend, it’s almost as if there’s this sort of element of mystery to him.

I am NOT saying Vanessa puts it all out there, but she is usually very happy, smiles for the paparazzi, she’ll laugh a lot when out in public, and her demeanor is more… girly/cutsey. The attention on her (as I’ve seen it, you all may disagree) is about her personal life: where she shops, her “scandal”, her famous friends (remember when she and Ashley tried to go to McDonalds? Scary!), and her boyfriend. I am generalizing, because I know there are interviews about her career and music, but even in the last Seventeen that she was on the cover of, most of the questions were about Zac and her scandal. Even if more mature magazines came along asking for the cover, I fear they still might only want to talk about Zac, her scandal, and maybe throw in a good quote or two about a movie/song for good measure, since they have a magazine to sell and asking her all the standard questions might be viewed as boring.

And I don’t think it’s that Vanessa/Zac ask for thingsto be that way, but it’s how the media is kind of presenting the two. Zac is the mature, talented, driven actor (and I agree, he is talented) and Vanessa is… the giggly girlfriend he met on the set of HSM who had a really embarassing situation happen.

I’m not sure what’s up with the portrayal of their roles in society, but that’s the picture I see being painted.
