Vanessa Hudgens - “GQ” May 2008

I’ve mentioned this before but the paps seem much more aggressive with Vanessa than they do with Zac. When Vanessa is with Asley or even when she is with Ally, the paps seem to think they can put camera lenses up to their windows and follow them into stores. When she is with Zac they keep a healthy distance. There have been pictures of Zac and Vanessa at McDonald’s but the paps were up at the car window or trying to order for them as they went through the drive-thru. When there were pictures of Zac and Vanessa shopping one night in the mall there were pictures of them hand-in-hand walking outside or in the mall but not inside the store.

I’ve seen Jessica Biel give the paps heck for being on top of her while all she is doing is walking along but this doesn’t happen when she is with her boyfriend. What, are the paps more afraid a guy is going to take a swing at them? Then maybe the girls should start doing the same, but then they would get a bad reputation for having a bad attitude. Really, does ANYONE have to tell these people NOT to be so intrusive? Whether or not you like Britney Spears or if you think she “asks for it” with the paps, those guys are adults and should know enough not to be so close to a car that the person can’t move. That is invading that person’s space and things like that should be against the law. In Hollywood it better become a law before someone gets seriously hurt.

I think we need to see the entire article before we can say exactly what was Vanessa was trying to say. Like Malia says these answers make little sense without knowing the questions. Sara I agree that that someone is trying to betray Zac as the mature one and Vanessa as the giggly girlfriend. They ask questions to get the answers they want. My friends and I were interviewed once in high school for the news, when it came out they had edited us to the point that what we said on TV was the opposite of what we actually said.

I can’t wait for all the interview because people only look at these quotes and try to find something negative about what she is saying.
If they took time to look at what she is saying it’s how she is NOT singing songs about being oh so hot and how all the boys want her. That is not what her album is about but if someone wants to find issues with her they will.

As has been pointed out Vanessa’s comments are posted without context so I don’t its fair to judge what she means or what she thinks. As far as her comment about the paparazzi goes I remember in the video where the paps surround her while she’s getting gas she’s asked how she likes the attention she says “I don’t.” And there were bunch of saying posts saying “If the paps weren’t interested in her she wouldn’t be anyone.” She was ungrateful.

She acknowledges that fact and she’s a spoiled brat. I agree with kgg I think she is very unpolished when it comes to interviews. I think she’s just a blunt shoot-from-the-hip kind of a person. That in my opinion is one of her endearing qualities but it doesn’t always come across well in print. On the other hand I think some people are just bound and determined to take offense at ANYTHING and EVERYTHING she says. She could say “Grass is green and water is wet” and people would jump all over her case saying “What a cocky little ****. Like she knows anything about nature. PLEASE!”

As far as her being so-called Cocky or over-confident - Let’s be real, most of the reason why actors are actors is #1, they’re talented (whether by little or by alot) and #2, because they’re all beautiful and photogenic. There is nothing wrong with what she said in the interview (if it was taken in context) she was being honest.. and at the same time confident. She’s not going to play dumb and pretend to be modest and say anything else differently. Get real… she did!

lilly, with all due respect, why should she have to explain herself to anyone? To be honest, if she does that, there are people that will come out and say something negative towards it anyway. Do you know what I mean? These naysayers are mostly tweens or young adults that are completely immature and rude at best. They will not care what she will say or the explanations to her actions. First and foremost… she’s an actress, she does not have to explain her actions or owe anyone any apologies. The apologies she’s made, she’s made on her own decisions.. but that doesn’t mean she HAD to do it.

Bottom line is, her fans will love her inspite of it all and her haters will hate her no matter what she says. That’s just the way the cookie crumbles… :)
