Vanessa Hudgens - “GQ” May 2008
Here is a new photo of Vanessa Hudgens from the May 2008 issue of GQ via Popstar. (Ashton Kutcher is on the cover.)
“If you have paparazzi, you know you’ve gotten somewhere,” the 19-year-old High School Musical star says.
When asked about her nude photo scandal, Vanessa shrugs it off, sayin, “Honestly, you have your ups and downs. But it’s over with and it’s done.”
As for her sophomore album, tentatively titled Identified, she says, “But not to the point where I’m singing I’m so hot! I’m so hot! Boys want me. I’m so hot!”
Vanessa and the gang (including Zac Efron) are currently at a top secret location in Utah shooting the feature film, High School Musical 3.

Sweets, nothing sweet about you, seriously. Who says she’s “supposed to have kids and teens look up to her?” She is an actress and singer; she did not sign on to be an idol, role model, or inspirational speaker. Children need to look up to the true heroes in the world, like their parents, and inspirational people around them, NOT celebrities. Vanessa is a normal young woman, who will learn from mistakes, like you. You just have the fortune of not having to do it in front of the world.

I agree with you both. I actually think that a lot of the most successful and talented people don’t have paparazzi following them around. Paparazzi isn’t about success, it’s about celebrity and notoriety and making money. I also see her becoming cocky and having a bad attitude. She seems to focus so much on things being “cute” and being “hot” and I think she’s quite immature and shallow. I used to think she was real, but now (particularly since the fall) I see her as being fake most of the time, and not being a person that I would ever look up to, or want to spend any time with in my life.

Also, I was really disappointed in her single that came out. Not that I would buy it anyway, but it really was a bad song. Actually, I think the songwriter did her a great disservice, as did anyone involved in selecting that song.
And as for children looking up to her, she has said she doesn’t like kids, and doesn’t like them coming up to her. Why would you want to look up to someone that feels that way? I’m sure it goes for 12, 15, and all-aged fans, as well. She doesn’t seem very gracious.

This is just spectualation on my part but I believe sweets used to post her bile on a Vanessa fan site I would occasionally visit under the all-too-clever nom de plume of “Person.” This “Person” claimed that Vanessa beat out a “friend” of hers for the role of Tintin in “Thunderbirds”. I have to say “Person” was quite bitter about it and was constantly talking just Sweets always does and wishing ill will on Vanessa like Sweets does.
Again I don’t know this for a fact it’s just a theory but it certainly would explain the bitterness. If it was constantly unpleasant tone of Sweets posts I would almost feel sympathy for her….”friend.” But alas if they are one and the same she makes it completely impossible.
#208 I have two things to say about your question A) I don’t BELIEVE she ever said anything of the sort. The “interview” in which she supposedly said that read like a bunch of disconnected quotes chained together. There was no author’s name attributed to that “Interview” either. I’ve studied journalism and believe me reporters like to be credited for for their work.
Plus the week that article saw print TV GUIDE Channel aired a program listing the Top 10 Teen Idols and Vanessa was ranked Number #4. They showed footage of her saying the complete oppostite of what that article claims she said.
And B) You claim she doesn’t seem very gracious. Just go to the thread on this very site of returning to LAX from New York getting off the plane and being mobbed by multiple autograph seekers and signing them. If that’s not being very gracious I guess I don’t know what is.

You can tell by the way Vanessa laughs and giggles she enjoys things and is free-spirited. Many people who are more restrained, like Paula said, find that refreshing. And Zac himself has said of Vanessa, “She makes everything sparkle”. He probably feels her joy and enthusiasm and it affects him in a good way. People like to be around those who make them feel “lifted up” and happy. She probably makes him feel energetic.

On the whole papz issue w/the “most successful”… There are Papz following Brangelina around (she’s an A-lister) George Clooney and his girl (he’s an A-lister) Come on… JJ has pix full of “successful” people EVERYDAY! That accusation that she’s a papz hog is unsubstantial.. Sorry to say, try again haters :)
oh and BTW Marie, Vanessa NEVER said she didn’t like kids… she said she didn’t want to have kids… at the moment… she said she might even change her mind…
Not wanting kids of your own does not mean she does not like kids! There’s a difference there. If she didn’t, she wouldn’t hang out w/her little sis so much. Furthermore, why would she jeopardize her career by saying something like that when the movie she’s made that was so successful, caters to children?

she is sooo full of herself, and i agree she came off as cocky and with a bad attitude altogether. looks like fame went to her head, and she isn’t the only one from the hsm cast. just what entitles her and the other “superstars” from hsm, to come off as arrogant persons? “If you have paparazzi, you know you’ve gotten somewhere” um, no you don’t. you know you’ve gotten somewhere when, you get recognized for your work, your peers at the award shows, accolades from the media(ie. the good and postive one, publications like the hollywood reporter, and other respected media outlets…etc) not because of how many paparazzi you have following you. if you have talent to back it up, then you shouldn’t count the paparazzi as the “oh, i made it big in hollywood”. i mean take ellen page for example, she doesn’t go around saying stuff like that, her work in movies speaks for itself…

I don’t understand how people can look at a comment without any context whatsoever say how people come across. What entitles you to do that? I will agree there’s a lot of arrogance generated by that comment. And it’s not coming from Vanessa.
