Mariah’s Sights Set on Leona Lewis
While Leona Lewis‘ album has hit number one, Mariah Carey’s album is predicted to have one of the biggest opening weeks of any album in recent years.
Leona’s album Spirit has sold 205,000 copies this week in the U.S.
Mariah’s new album E=MC2 opened with sales of 154,000 in the first day.
Mariah was this week’s music mentor and theme for the American Idol contestants.

Jared this is a ridiculous comparison, Mariah’s been around for two decades and Leona has only one hit to her name. And OBVIOUSLY Leona’s camp is trying to emulate Mariah’s early career, time will tell!!!

Simon Cowell says Leona Lewis definitely has IT and is one of the best and I’m sure he knows. I’m liking Mariah again. Her mental breakdown put her out of sorts for a while but now she’s back. I have always loved her voice but I want the OLD Mariah—-not the hip-hop Mariah Carey. I like her to belt out songs instead of using her softy, fluffy whiny voice. She’s a great singer. Whitney Houston is my favorite singer.

what a question. MARIAH CAREY for sure. plus hearing leona’s bleeding love over and over and over again on radio has really turned me off. U CAN NEVER GET BORED OF MARIAH’S MUSIC.

i am british so i have to say LEONA. shes just so wonderful, her album was number one for 7 WEEKS in england.
mariah’s all right but her ‘brilliance’ has dimmed a bit.
I do like them both. However you can pick up a Leona Lewis anywhere in the US, there are so many sound alikes over there. Even Christina Ag has a better voice than Leona. Lets see if leona is around in 18 years time still scoring number one singles and albums or will we see her being dragged out of some seedy drug den with a needle sticking out of her arm.
