Gossip Girl Streams are Just Dreams
The CW announced on Thursday that the rest of this season’s episodes of Gossip Girl would not be made available online for streaming.
While Gossip Girl has been massively popular online at CWTV.com, the decision was made to broadcast the new episodes only on TV and for sale on iTunes.
“Gossip Girl is an extremely important show for The CW and we feel it can be a signature breakout for its return,” says Paul McGuire, a CW spokesman.
“This is an experiment to see if this moves the [Nielsen ratings] needle at all.”

im hoping they will still be on youtube because the US is the only place that gets that CW (as far as i know) so everywhere else is screwed
im Canadian and since the strike, the channel that usually shows it in Canada is not showing it in the next little while so i really hope somebody will put them on youtube (and that they won’t get taken down because of copyright or whatnot - stupid google buying out youtube grr)

I think this is a great idea!
There are many other streaming sites available to watch GG that were available before too. People will find a way to watch it…But there were probably be some of those people who were just to lazy to turn on the TV which will now do so….If anything the ratings will increase or stay the same. Not go down.
Over 50% of the hits on the CW streaming site are just for GG and the first 13 episodes had over 6 million hits so if even only half of them swtiched to TV..think of how much the ratings would increase!

Also Canadians CAN get CW by either Rogers or satellite. CTV is the stupidest network ever (it has “no room on its schedule”…ugh. I guess that happens when you pick you hog 75% of all teh US shows on one network instead of giving them to other canadian networks…). HOwever, I heard that they are trying to find another Canadian network to pick up the show…most likely to happen. (I’m hoping Global or Citytv because they less likely to do what CTV enjoys doing….messing with show’s schedule, stop airing, then airing at later date, etc….This is not the first time CTV did this (same thing happneed with Gilmore Girls, Felicity, Everwood, list goes on….)

I’m french and the only way to watch TV shows is streamings.

what! i dont get it, i really want to watch it, but every time i have gone to the site, it says: were sorry, gossip girl is currently available only in the US. or something like that. so how do you in asia and france watch it if you dont watch it on tv?

I would watch it if I were able to be home at that time. I could be home, but I would have to fail a class and I am not in a position to do it. Although it doesn’t often take them long to end up on Youtube so I can just watch them there.

No, because I watched it on line because it airs at a horribly inconvient time for me. Every TV show I watch is viewed online. If they don’t put them up, I just won’t watch. Their loss.
If they don’t do this it is very possible the show could be cancelled all together. So just suck it up. I for one don’t want the show to end and can pay $1.99 to keep it alive.
i live in asia so i can’t watch the latest gossip girl episodes on tv. that’s why i watch online. waiting for it to show on tv is crap, it’s gonna take months!!!!
