OlderZac Efron Meets Young Cancer Patient
High School Musical fan Connor Steventon meets star Zac Efron as a special surprise for his birthday on March 1.
Sadly, Connor, 13, died on March 19 after a two-year battle with cancer. His memory will live on with plans to form a charity in his name.
Connor’s mom Tracy Mason shared a little about how Connor got to meet Zac: “About six weeks before his birthday I thought, ‘He is going to be 13, what can I do that’s really special?’ He had everything, didn’t want or need anything and was mad about High School Musical. When I saw on iomtoday (Isle of Man Today) that Zac was coming over I thought we have got to make that happen somehow. Before his birthday he had started to go downhill, sleeping a lot, and I thought we would have a High School Musical party and asked Zac to come and surprise him. [When Zac agreed to come,] Connor’s little eyes nearly fell out of his head.”

This was a very touching story. It’s always nice to hear when celebrtities do something like this because it shows they haven’t lost touch with reality. Here’s hoping Zac never does.

I hate that stuff like this happens. Little kids should NOT have to suffer with serious diseases like that, it’s cruel and unfair and they don’t deserve it. There are billions of people out there with the same sickness Connor has, and my heart goes out to them, their families, Connor, his family and Zac, for doing such a nice thing for this kid before his passing away. God Bless.

oh my gosh! this is so sad but really really sweet of Zac. I wish all celebrities were more like Zac. My prayers are with COnners family.

Sarah, and whoever else might be asking . . . this picture was taken while Zac was filming Me and Orson Wells on the Isle of Man last month. And his character, Richard Samuels, does not wear a Kuuipo ring.
Much respect to Mr. Efron! We all need to see/hear more stories like this!

losing a child is the hardest thing a mother/family has to endure, especially a young one who’s been sick for a good amount of time. best of luck to his family and their greiving. but it must be consoling to the mother to know that she granted her son’s biggest wish and he passed in content.
zac is such an amazing guy to do this, grant this sick child’s wish and complte his life [it would complete mine!] <3 man. i love him even more for doing these kinds of things
