david archuleta is the next american idol and of course he did an amazing job again performing tonight. love you david.

I really wish Archuleta would go. He’s so interminably boring. Meanwhile, Syesha was brilliant..

And WTF is up with Randy? I don’t know what show he was looking at and hearing tonight, but what I heard and saw was the same old boring-ass David Archuleta. He has no stage presence. And to boot, he didn’t listen to Webber and closed his eyes during a portion of that interminably boring song.

I just don’t get the hype and hoopla over this kid, who continues to pale in comparison to those who are much better IMO like David C., and yes, Syesha. At least SHE could hold notes and could sell a song, rather than being a one-trick pony like he is. Every song Archuleta sings sounds the same. And he does the same with it — the half dipping with his knees, the lip-licking in between phrasing and the eye-closing. There’s no appeal except for those clueless teenyboppers, who, by the way, I don’t understand why they were allowed on the stage to hug David A. WTF !! Talk about hype !! The producers were wrong in doing that, giving David A. a step up from the other contestants. They were pandering to that contingent mercilessly tonight. And it stinks !!

Brooke needs to go. She should have left last week, IMO.
I’m so sick of her backtalk and that phony “I’m about to cry” look that she gives week after week when she’s getting feedback from the judges. But tonight took the cake !! This is actually the SECOND time that she stopped and restarted a performance. And why didn’t somebody correct that liar when she pronounced that was the first time that she did that. Ryan should have jumped all over that. I mean, do they really expect us fans at home not to remember that blaring faux pas ? Puleeze !! She’s gotta go !!

I don’t know what Syesha did to piss them off, but I can’t understand why, up until tonight, she had been getting only lukewarm critiques from those three. I think she has a big voice and is one of the strongest voices and performers on the show this season. But somehow she keeps getting these half-hearted comments from the judges. Poor Syesha. I love her though. And I keep voting for only her. I sure hope she is one of the Final Four, where she belongs.

I’ll be happy though to see Brooke go bye-bye tomorrow. It’ll only be fair.

David Archuleta was amazing tonight. I was surprised he spiced up the song a little bit. And the end of his performance was really sexy. which surprised me.

I agree with the above about Archuleta. And although I have not always been a fan, Syesha definitely shone tonight. (I dont think she should win the whole thing, but it was great tonight.)

Do Archuleta’s legs work? The kid is rigid.

I’m tired of Archuleta too. He sounds the same week after week after week…he needs to change it up, seriously.

okay, I’ve been a staunch Jason fan and haven’t liked David Cook (especially his always be my baby) but David C. won me over tonight. It showed that he had a lot of versatility. Can Brooke please go home?

the Davids totally rule the show! David A and David Cook are both amazingly talented! You can’t deny that . even if your not a fan of both . they have talent..

Syesha did really good, but let’s face it.. she doesn’t have much hype .. she’s not the one people talk about

Jason.. As talented as the guy is .. He’s boring.. He seems to do the same stuff each week. sit on a chair .. sing a slow song.. either with his guitar or without?? disagree?? watch his performances. they’re all very similar. I think he would make an incredible acoustic artist. But i don’t think he’ll become the next American Idol.

Brooke.. Wow … I really liked her because i felt she had her own style of music and her voice was very recognizable and unique.. BUT omgsh tonight she did horrible! She had great emotions .. But she was way off .. and considering she was in the bottom last week i think she might be in trouble again.. As emotional as the performance may have been and as hard as it would’ve been for her to sing the song.. She cracked and let it get to her ..

David A.. Anyone who says he’s not as talented needs to seriously get their ears checked.. He’s the real deal .. adorable, great vocals, and yeah he may sing ballads all the time.. But that’s what show cases his voice a lot .. To sum up .. He’ll be in the top 2 .. someone save this comment .. cuz you know I’m right.

Carly.. incredible voice! Probably the best vocals in the competition.. BUT with that said i don’t think many people pay attention to her .. It seems like everyones labeled at this point .. *David A: adorable, pop one.. David C: rocker. blues. jason: accoustic mellow guy* .. But i don’t think Carly has found her identity yet.

David freaking Cook: I wasn’t a fan in the beginning cuz i like Michael and David A .. then Michael went home.. And i started to really really like him! .. His performance tonight in my opinion was the BEST!.. the guy can sing .. I think he really is the whole package.. He’s a musician, ya know he can play the guitar, great vocals, recognizable voice, has his won vibe! ..To again sum up .. he’s amazing no doubt about it..

Honestly i feel like the competition at this point is just between the Davids.. They’ll definitely be in the top 2 .. Sure of it .. Unless people don’t vote for them cuz they know they’ll be safe..

totally disagree OMG.. david is in the competition because he’s got an amazing voice! .. Is he adorable and cute.. yes.. but if he wasn’t i would still like him..i don’t like him because of his face.. i like him because of his talent.. he may sing slow songs every week which may give people the impression that he’s boring.. But it’s what you take of that performance is what makes it meaningful.. People like him because he has a great voice not just because of his face..

David Archuleta was AMAZING!! david cook is soo overrated! and jason is sooooooooo hot i hope he stays!!

I find it funny that people say David A is “adorable.” Youth is usually adorable, but take a good look at that face and add a few years. Unless he gets some work done, he will most definitely NOT be considered very attractive.

Hell no, Brooke NEEDS to stay. That was great tv and one of the most uncomfortable performances in AI history. The best of the worst by far. Brooke is becoming more unhinged every week. The show would be boring without her.

If the judges were being true to themselves, and ALL OF THEIR “YOU’RE NO WHITNEY HOUSTON” COMMENTS then they would have been fair and said DAVID COOK is NO Micheal Crawford, his music of the night was amatuerish. I did not like it at all.

I really don’t care for him either but that is not what the above comment was about. He did a very boring imitation of the original song. Blahhhh! I agreed with Simon most of the night. I really love David A’s voice but his song was boring. I have a feeling if he sang any song the way he really could have - Simon would have sent him packing to Broadway, so he played it safe. His Dad is definately coaching him. Didn”t overdo it and didn’t try to copy anyone.

Hurrah for Carly! She is not my favorite BUT she did a fantastic Broadway stage performance of Jesus Christ - Superstar.

I’m from England, and to be honest, I think the only one of them that can make it internationally is Jason Castro. His style is fresh and laid back, which is very much embraced in Europe at the moment. Even though he’s not the best vocally.
He will definitely do well.
David Cook is a bit too cheesy for the international market, will be commercial rock.
Archuleta will end up doing stuff for Disney, not mature enough. Also I’m surprised that people in America are not bored of his style of singing. He has a great voice, I have to say, but overall, very boring personae.
That Brooke, really gets on my nerves when she talks back at the judges, she seriously needs to be kicked to the kerb. I think she will go this week anyway.

the only thing that labels him with having an “amazing voice” is the fact that he can add a long “wow-oh-wow-oh-oh!” to the end of his songs or just generally making words spread out longer like thissssss. -yawn-

I agree with whoever said it first…. yesterday really made me miss Michale Johns. He was my favorite sine the audition where he did that Ottis Reading song….. melt my heart!! Since he left I’ve been watching live (not DVR the next day) and actually voting. I’ve watched every season except the Carrie Underwood season and only voted once (Fro Kelly Clarkson). Now I’m voting a gazillion times. But depending on the results tonight… I may stop voting and watching all together or go back to my watching it recorded the next coupld days later and FF thru the BS. This whole Theme week crap is so lame. I understand they want to narrow the focus of songs but it’s ridiculous and the fans don’t want to see 5 people who will probably never sing on broadway have to be tortured singing musical crap.

I must be the only one that doesn’t like David Cook, I liked him in the beginning, but his cocky ways bugs me. I don’t think he performed that great last night. David Cook does the same thing week after week. Holding his microphone like he is about to swallow it, then belts out a scream..People seem to like yellers,I prefer smooth sounding music.

I like Jason Castro and David Cook, because I can see them making an album with their type of music. David A doesnt’ have a style–what type of songs will he put on his album? Also most of the guest (mariah, dolly, etc) said that Jason has a unique style. I can see myself buying Jason or David’s music. Syleisha should go straight to broadway.
