Gossip Girl Ratings Get No Love

i love Gossip Girl it’s a pretty good show and last night’s episode was not too bad hopefully it’ll get better

Yeah, what’s the deal with the no gay character thing??

I was so curious!!

Very disappointed.

Still…… can’t wait for next week!

For the ratings to be upped, the cast needs to do something seriously drastic in the personal lives and have it splashed all over the magazines or better still starting hooking up with each other and have it accidently on purpose leaked, cloak and dagger style! That’ll get the ratings up, great show though, don’t cancel it, let it ride out until more people catch on!!! Come on rest of the cast, don’t just leave it up to Chace to do all the hardwork!!!

The CW doesn’t get high ratings. About 2.4 million is average for most of their shows. ANTM is their top show and only gets about 4 million viewers.

Too bad it didn’t rate well - maybe all the hype actually ended up working against it.

hahaaaaaa. a lot of you seem to be clueless.

first of all, GG won’t be cancelled. it has already been picked up for a full season in the fall. it has a loyal following, whether you think so or not. the ratings from nielsen weren’t high, but those ratings dont show all of the houses that DVR the show or record it, which most people do these days. who the hell watches shows live anymore? (and this show is on The CW– not NBC, ABC, or CBS)

also, GG episodes are always in the top downloads on iTunes.

secondly, they don’t just have sex on the show, to the person who commented about that. and the acting isn’t horrible. it’s an interesting show with hot people and good storylines. “The OC” was successful for a reason and had great fanfare, just like this show has and will continue to receive.

but seriously people, if you really liked gossip girl you would know when it was going to premiere, plus i’ve seen commericals on bravo, mtv (?) and on the radio. they were definately trying. but people, if you visit this site not knowing gossip girl was starting, thats sort of pathetic. jared has gossip girl posts almost dailyyy.! that i enjoy thank you very much (: pluss on almost ever one of his posts he says when the next one is. so get in tune people! lets get those ratings up. haha

People, have you not ever noticed that Gossip Girl is not a show for kids. it’s more of a Drama directed towards 16-18 year olds. If you don’t like the show, then don’t watch it, it’s as simple as that. I watched the show for the very first time ever last night, and I thought it was Good! have you not seen The O.C ? its like the modern version of that and One tree hill! (which both involve lesbians and SEX!) I really hope they keep this show running, they can come a long way with that. now there will always be haters over everything, I’m sure that the producers won’t axe the show just because of some constant winging Critics!! the O.C was once canned, but then came back for another 3 seasons! and that show was brilliant. there’s no way gossip girl will be axed.

Well, personally, I love the show, but wasn’t home to watch it. No DVR either. Had to watch it online. Some youtv or something like that. Serena won’t be the gay one, in fact, they’ve already said it would be a guy. And they can’t hope for ratings like on NBC, I think if they got ratings that were good considering the network, they would be happy. And it’s already been renewed for a second season as far as I know so they can’t cancel it now. And pres of CW Dawn Ostroff fights for shows she likes. Look at how long Veronica Mars lasted (3 seasons) and almost no one was watching that show.

Louise: You dont know much about rating do ya? ANTM gets 6! million viewers. Smallville gets around 4-5 million viewers. OTH gets around 3, 3.5 million viewers, just not now, bc of the bad lead in (Gossip girl) and dancing with the stars is on the same time. Supernatural gets around 3, 3.50 million. The comides gets around 2.50, 3 million. And they are comides. Comidies has Always lower ratings these days.

And then we have Reaper, who gets 2.50, 3 million and LAST! Gossip girl. 2, 2.50 million viewers. The ratings for gossip girl is terreblie!! Why cant you 9 year old fans get that!?

I have to say I have no clou how your ratingssystem works (I’m dutch…) but I guiss for a big country like the USA and your comments on it that a low rating

though I like the show, I think they could have done much better. I had to see 3 episodes before I really got in the stor, There wasn’t a click form the first moment……. I think thats the weakness of the show. I always think if you see 1 episode of a show. It has to grab you, no matter if its in the middle of the season. You have to turn it on and something has to make you curious to see whats happens next. GG doesn’t have that, the storyline is to flat for that.

I love the show now, but thats because I always wath more that one episode of a show, so by the 3th episode I thought it was a fun show.
but I do get that a lot of people dont like the show.

well the ratings of gg has always been low and honestly i dont think they will improve much. but the ratings really dont mean much anymore. most people dont watch tv live, especially not the cw, they either record it or watch it on youtube or something. the fan base, the mentions in the press blogs etc are the measure of show’s popularity. and gg is what everyone talks about these days. i really really don’t think it will get cancelled, it’s so popular. look at oth, it never had high ratings etc and it was never as popular as gg and it will still have 6th season.
and everyone talks about how the storylines are ridiculous and how the acting is crappy and all that. people what do you expect? seriously i absolutely love the show but you cant expect it to have great acting or incredible story lines. it’s a teen show which is about sex, high school drama and love. accept it for what it is.
