Gwyneth Paltrow Talks USA Weekend

What do Liv Tyler, Gwyneth Paltrow and Maggie Gyllenhaal have in common?

All of these lovely ladies will be starring in superhero flicks coming soon to a theater near you–Incredible Hulk, Iron Man and The Dark Knight, respectively.

Here’s what Liv, Gwyn and Maggie had to say after being asked, “How do you think women have changed in these kind of films over the years?”

Gwyneth: There’s a reason why they’re hiring actresses like us. We’re all women, we’re all mothers, and we all normally do different films. There’s a certain understanding of who we are and what we bring and a certain respect for that.
Maggie: Twenty or 30 years ago, the women in these films were vapid and just appeared for extra silliness.
Liv: In all these films, our characters have real jobs and really fall in love and have real dilemmas. When you look at the history of the comic books, the women also have changed.

They are all delusional because superhero gfs suck. All they do is scream and get rescued ala damsel in distress. Nothing has changed at all and the superheroine films are worst remembering Catwoman,Elektra,Aeon Flux,Tomb Raider,Ultraviolet etc–

I can buy Liv as the love interest but Im puking about Maggie and Gwen. Those 2 will ruin the movie for me.

Iron Man is really getting a pounding from the critics. Look at ugly Maggie Gyllenhaal and her hideous embarassing acting.

Paltrow is just resurrecting her dying career. If Maggie solely stars in Batman I will boycott the movie but its because of the Batman and Joker Im there and nothing else. Cruise should have let Katie finish the series.

i love seeing these beautiful and talented women together. maggie and gwyneth’s choice in these blockbuster films is a surprise though.
