Fergie - “Labels or Love” Lyrics

Here are the lyrics to Fergie’s new song “Labels or Love,” the new Sex and the City movie theme song. You can listen to it here. It’s a hot-hot-hot track!!!

“I grew up watching Sex and the City and I know a lot of my girlfriends did as well,” says Fergie. “We felt like these characters were our friends, so to be a part of this project has been amazing.”

But her real wish is to create a music video for this song! Adds Fergie, “‘I would die to do a video with the girls.”

“Labels or Love” will be included in the film, out May 30, and in the Sex and the City: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack, out May 27.

Fergie - “Labels or Love” Lyrics

Shopping for labels, shopping for love
Manolo and Louis, it’s all I’m thinking of
Shopping for labels, shopping for love
Manolo and Louis, it’s all I’m thinking of

I already know what my addiction is
I be looking for labels, I ain’t looking for love
I shop for purses while I walk out the door
Don’t cry, buy a bag and then get over it
And, I’m not concerned with all the politics
It’s a lot of men I know I could find another one.

What I know is that I’m always happy when I walk out the store, store
I’m guessing Supercalifragi-sexy, nothing to be playing with
I love him, hate him, kiss him, diss him, tryna to walk a mile in my kicks

(Chorus)
Love’s like a runway but which one do I love more
No emotional baggage, just big bags filled with Dior
Love’s like a runway, so what’s all the fussing for
Let’s stop chasing them boys and shop some more

I know I might come off as negative
I be looking for labels, I ain’t looking for love
Relationships are often so hard to tame
A Prada dress has never broken my heart before
And, ballin’s something that I’m fed up with
I’mma do the damn thing, watch me do the damn thing
Cause I know that my credit card will help me put out the flames
I’m guessing Supercalifragi-sexy, nothing to be playing with
I love him, hate him, kiss him, diss him, tryna to walk a mile in my kicks

[Chorus]

Gucci, Fendi, Prada purses, purchasing them finer things
Men they come a dime a dozen, just give me them diamond rings
I’m into a lot of bling, Cadallic, Chanel and Coach
Fellas boast but they can’t really handle my female approach
Buying things is hard to say
Rocking Christian Audigier, Manolo, Polo, taking photos in my Cartier
So we can’t go all the way, I know you might hate it but
I’m a shop for labels while them ladies lay and wait for love

[Chorus]

she grew up watching sex and the city???? isn’t she like 34?

It’s a lot of ____ I know I could find another one.
It’s a lot of men …

Fergie “grew up” watching Sex and the City? She’s was born in 1975, and the show came out in 1998. That means Fergie was 22 if she watched the show when it first came out. I wouldn’t consider 22 the age of “growing up”…

Couldn’t she have sung a song rather than perform that awful rap crap? The theme to the SATC movie should be something more sophisticated yet cool, I don’t think rap falls into that vision.

is it called “labels or love” OR “labels and love”

on interscopes site it “labels AND love” but i think on TRL it said it was “Labels OR love”

wat is it?

cadillac* chanel and coach

I’m into a lot of bling, Escalade, Chanel and Coach — i think thats it

I think Hannah’s right–cadillac.

Thanks everybody!

That’s the stupidest song I’ve ever read. So Fergie probably wrote it herself.

This is music at its worst…wtf is this fergie?! at least she didnt teach us some kind of spelling lesson G L A M O R O U S! this is G A R B A G E!!!

wasn’t she too high to remember what she was watching back then

I think she has just ruined the SATC movie for me……

shes not spelling anything??

1. No emotional baggage, REPLACE it with Dior

2. A Prada DRESS has never broke my heart before (however, I’m still clueless as to the line that comes next)

3. Christian Audigier not “Christian, Herve Leger”

Why thank you, i.be.shoppin’.for.labels!

She's a sell-out @ 04/23/2008 at 10:00 pm

This song is deep…it has such meaning and thought put into it. She must have endured such emotional pain to put forth such art.

And we wonder why our society is turning to Sh!t. Thanks Fergie.
