Lauren Conrad, aka Us Weekly’s Celebrity Designer of the Year, works it out at the Redkens Real Control cocktail party at West Hollywood’s Warren Tricomi Salon on Wednesday.
Recently, L.C. was asked about her line, The Lauren Conrad Collection. She said, “I would not be able to have the line if I didn’t have the reality show first or I wouldn’t be able to have it so soon, but because I was on a reality show, you don’t get the respect that you want and … I have done everything to deserve it as far as all the designing and everything that I would’ve done, reality show or not. Because I got the opportunity so much sooner, people are quick to criticize.”

I love her outfit & her signature pony tail is back! She must have gotten extensions. Too bad. I liked her short hair. It just gave her a fresh look. The Hills was boring the other night. The whole Stephanie Pratt thing bugs me. I don’t like that girl & I think it is super weird that LC would be friends w/ her. If Stephanie was a good sister/friend she wouldn’t be friends w/ LC. It is fine for Stephanie to be civil & friendly to LC but to hang out w/ her is totally stabbing her brother & Heidi in the back. I guess I just don’t like Stephani - she is fake fake fake & needs to go away. I also miss Brody. He made The Hills fun.
She looks good but I still prefer her short hair. Being called just a celebrity designer would have to be frustrating but I’m glad she’s acknowledging what her reality show gave her and the reality of her getting a line so young.

I love the show and I think she is so pretty, but she really needs to use sunscreen or proper sunglasses or something….her wrinkles are prominent for someone her age- 22 (my age as well!)

She looks beautiful. She is right about her clothing line. She has a passion for fashion and has always wanted to have her own line. It’s not like she became a celebrity and then decided to come out with a clothing line. I like her line and I think it’s completely wearable unlike some freaky clothes you see on the runways.
Would she even have a career period, without the reality show? and she’s talking as if she would have but the show gave it to her “earlier”
I would like to see a reality show of her where she started from scratch and did the whole designing thing herself before she totes around that “her” designs deserve as much respect as any other designer out there.

i dont understand this girls reasoning. she admits that she would not have had the opportunity to start her own clothing line without being on a realtiy tv show, so shes admitting that the only reason why she was able to get this is because of her fame, not cause shes actually good at anything. her clothes are boring and horribly priced for something you can get at forever 21. she will never become a real designer. and shes a brat

Lauren’s line is awesome! And so is she!! Who cares what got her to where she is in her career/life!! she is doing better than all of us on this silly wall! I think Lauren is smart and awesome!! She does what she loves and she makes awesome money for it!! YEAH LAUREN !! your my favorite!!!!
