Nick Lachey Hosts His Own High School Musical
Nick Lachey, 34, will host an ABC talent show based on Disney’s High School Musical franchise.
Tentatively titled High School Musical: Summer Session, the show will feature contestants between the ages of 16 and 22.
High School Musical: Summer Session, is launching open casting calls this weekend with a series premiere set for Sunday, June 20.
High School Musical 3: Senior Year is currently being filmed in Utah while a fourth installment of the hit series is being written.

No problem with Nick being the host but enough of the HSM stuff already. It’s getting old, boring and what one might term….”DISNEY OVERKILL”.
i think its cool nick will be hosting the show. I really like Nick so its good he will be doing the show.
When i saw you said he was 38 i was like :O cos i didn’t think he was but I looked i up and it said he was born November 9, 1973 which would make him 34 not 38. But its cool.

i’m going to the long beach auditions. i have no clue what it’s about but if you make it on the show, i heard the real hsm cast will make appereances (sp?) and that’s a chance to meet zac!
I guess its cool Nick will be hosting. I’m sure the show will do will no matter who hosts it, because of its popularity.
I think Nick will be good as a host. He hosted the tree lighting ceremony in Rockafeller Center last year. His new album is coming out some time this summer. I wonder if it will drop around the same time the show starts which is July 20th. They’ve been leaking samples for a single so that should be out soon.
I don’t think he will be able to take vacation from being on vacation with his lovely lady Vanillo.

WOW what exactly does he do for a career now? cuz he doesn’t sing anymore and i haven’t seen him in any shows or movies…. so now he has to be a host thats lame lol

I think he was chosen partly because he went to a performing arts high school. That might have something to do with it. He’s producing a show about his high school for MTV.
I don’t really care who hosts! I love HSM but it’s getting too far. They are killing it!!!! They have HSM EVERYTHING! Well except for maybe like toilet paper but that’s besides the point! Can’t they give it a rest! I hear they are making an HSM4! They aren’t even done with HSM3 and they’re already writing a script for a # 4! What the hell is it going to be?!? College musical?!?! OVER KILL!!!!!!!!!!!
