INDIO, Calif. — Sean Penn is fighting the war in Iraq, poverty, homelessness and saving the environment, all from a bus.

The actor, who baffled many when his name showed up on the lineup for this year’s Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival in Indio, plans to board a fleet of biodiesel buses and take about 300 people on an 1,800-mile trek across the U.S., ending in New Orleans.

Penn’s brainchild, the Dirty Hands Caravan, will take off Monday and is expected to arrive in the Big Easy on May 4 for the city’s annual jazz festival.

“I see this as a reckoning,” said Penn, who’s set to appear twice on Sunday at Coachella. “My generation and those that came before have to recognize the numbing of incentive that we’ve passed on to the change hungry, imaginative, smarter than us youth of today.”

Penn said he’s simply providing the wheels and the young people are leading the ride.

“The Dirty Hands Caravan seeks to empower young people to stand up for what they believe in, with its longevity based on inspired individuality and pride,” he said.

As the biodiesel buses make their way across U.S. cities, the plan is to have its members volunteer for local organizations or do whatever they feel inspired to do.

With the goal to “encourage individuals to take individual actions,” the caravan will stop at campgrounds where they’ll be joined by musicians, activists, artists, filmmakers and guest speakers.

“I invited Sean to speak at Coachella, and he took it one step further and came back to me with this idea,” Coachella organizer Paul Tollett said. “The entire Coachella team is excited to launch this journey at this year’s festival.”

She needs him as a father to her children, a provider to her and their needs, a producer who will give her leading parts long after no one else does. Why, she’s 33 this year and though this is a perfectly normal age out of Hollywood, it is a crisis point in the movie business. She’s no longer as hot as she was when she met Brad in Mr & Mrs Smith. Sadly, he is not hot, either, but she looks better because he does too much to help raise the children in their family.

Some people keep accusing Jen of manipulating Brad for 7 years but I don’t believe in that. All I can say is that he has never seemed more manipulated than now - with all the children who aren’t his but who he legally adopted because he is a decent person, Angelina will manipulate him for a lifetime. Even if he splits from her someday, he’ll never never get out of her clutches because he’ll have to work like crazy to pay child support even when he’s old and needs some rest. Golden years? I don’t think so.

I have no idea what he saw in this crazy, self-centered woman, who unashamedly admits she tried all known drugs before she was 20, but even the blind can see that Brad has no real partner in this relationship. Angelina is not a source of good advice and not the kind of friend who’ll say “stop” if she thinks that things are going too far. By doing everything he wants, she simply gives him enough rope to hang himself in her best interest. Why would she do the opposite if that helps her to control him in the long run?

Jen is lucky to be out of this. It’s a shame that Brad is drowning in a mess created by his own dreams, though. They are good dreams. How come they led to such a lifelong mess?

Brad and Angie have made wise choices for themselves as a family by being inseperably together, as actors with their films this year, Brad with BAR and TCCOBB and Angie’s The Changeling, Wanted and her voice over with KP, their Jolie-Pitt foundation doing good through MIR and Angie’s Education Partnership for children, notwithstanding being the most visible UNHCR ambassador. Overall, they are making it right whereas other celebrities are floundering and on the brink of extinction.
Their box-office status in terms of past, present and future will be scrutinized ad nauseum but as their fan, I believe in their star power world wide and the quality of the movies they do. To compare them to actors who do formula movies with the same themes of saving the world is pointless. That is part of hollywood and profit. Brad and Angie have the luxury of making movies they like and which direction they want there careers to go.

Atlas ShruggedSince last September, Vadim Perelman has been signed on to direct an adaptation of the massive, over 1,000-page Ayn Rand book Atlas Shrugged, first published in 1957. But as you may have guessed, it’s not a simple task to compact a thousand pages of story into — what I am assuming will probably be — a hefty 165-200 minute long film.

CS spoke with Mr. Perelman, who gave them an update on the project, saying that he’s just polishing up his rewrites on the script. It was last reported that Randall Wallace (Braveheart) had condensed the story into a 127-page script, though Perelman makes no mention of whose script he’s rewriting. Perelman also said that LionsGate would like to start filming in December, but again, it depends on the status of the script. I assume that they’re probably aiming for a Fall 2009 release for awards season or possibly even a Holidays ‘09-’10 date.

I’ve not read Atlas Shrugged, but from what I can tell, it deals with a society in New York City that basically abandons and even punishes creativity and independent accomplishment. The story serves as a platform for the Russian-born Rand’s individualistic philosophy Objectivism. While reading a description, I got a very “futuristic past” vision, where it takes place some time in the 1930s to the 1950s, but it has a lot of futuristic/science fiction elements going on. Maybe like a mix of The Rocketeer and BioShock? That’s just the visual I get, I really have no idea what it will actually be like.

Vadim Perelman also directed The House of Sand and Fog which was a beautifully tragic story and if all his films are like that one, I see a lot of success in his future.

As for cast and so on, last September Angelina Jolie signed on for the lead role as Dagny Taggart and is still attached to star.

Anistons true colors are shining through, yes even some are fans are starting to see it. This story/fling seems like a pr stunt.

Lets take a look at the past week:

1. Perez(yes I am sure her people read his blog) reports that Aniston has been linked to producer Stuber and thinks it is great that she won’t be SAD & LONELY.

OMG more poor jen stories..what can be done?

2. Cannes lineup is announced, whether people want to admit or not. Aniston seems hell bent on competing with Jolie. It is more than obvious now.

OMG that is not fair …jen’s movie got pushed back yet hers is showing at Cannes.

3. Out of thin air Brian B sufaces as an ex boyfriend confirming that he once dated jen but is no longer. Why did he feel the need to come forward.

Huvane in response to the story says he will no longer comment on her romantic life…lmao

4. Aniston and Mayer go to a ” private lunch” that opened early and have “fun” looking like a couple. That fine, however is it not strange that the manager decides to report all the details of her “private lunch” ! Strange for a woman who values privacy..that is what her fans say.

5. The smartwater ad is released the same day as the Mayer story broke.

OMG …Didn’t the same thing happen at the same time last year with the model.

6. Paltrow another H client is all over the news.

So what can “fans” expect:

1. More sightings for sure, this relationship/fling is needed for various reasons and should be public.

2. The tabloids will go crazy and by the time Brad and a pregnant Angie make their worldwide appearance. Aniston will be on all the covers as her hot new romance with a younger guy takes off. lmao

3. Jen and John might be pictured together soon if not already. John Mayer won’t mind the attention (ex: see jessica simpson). Aniston won’t mind cause unlike Paul, John Mayer is a celeb.

4. They will have their “summer romance” and will end as friends or John M will break up with her on his blog.

In my opinion:
Aniston is an amazing(lmao) human being that will do anything (even being linked/sleeping with a dirtbag) who has done nothing but shown public disrespect to his exes and woman in general. Yes this is how low she will go to stay in the game and it is a game. Her fans should ask themselves why would such a “strong woman/a list star” resort to such things to stay relevant. If family is truly where she is headed why spend time with a 30 year old who seems like he is still a kid himself.

Time wil tell I suppose if he is decent and makes her happy then good for her, however this looks like nothing more than two pr whores looking for atttention. Another notch on Mayers belt and more media attention for aniston. It is sad how low she has sunk as human being. Mr. Pitt was too good for her.

And he told her how he had become involved in Africa. And the interview where DS said that he was having a mid-life crisis. She also asked if Angie had caused the split. He answered no. I believed she asked if Angie was a home wrecker? He said no. She asked if it was because x didn’t have any babies with him. He said no. You know what - I really want to give props to Billy Bush, his relatives not withstanding - lol, he held that *****’s feet to the fire on Angie, because she has done interviews with people before and when AJ gets brought up, or the connection with what Madge is just now doing at 50 with what Angie has been doing for the last 7 years, gets made, she has kind of said things dismissively.

The bottomline, people want to know because Angelina is just THAT influential. She’s behind only Oprah and Bono in that Harris poll. Especially when it comes to Africa and helping children, helping African children and in particular adopting Zahara.

I think Madonna came across as slightly defensive in past interviews (recalling when Oprah asked her about Brad & Angie when she was trying to adopt David) - she wants to be the originator and she ain’t…not even close. When it comes to boxoffice stats, boxofficemojo is more accurate than the-numbers. The-numbers stops monitoring the foreign box-office take of a film when it drops out of the top 30 (or 50) international films for the week.

boxofficemojo monitors the dvd rental gross but it stops monitoring the rental gross of the film when it drops out of the top 50 DVD rental for the week.

the-numbers tracks the DVD sales of a film. I noticed, that although the film drops out of the top 50 DVD sales, the total amount of sales still gets updated.

Also, according a film financial expert (source: deadlinehollywood daily), boxoffice revenues only represent about 8% of the film’s total revenue streams.

$478m x .4 = $191 million - studio’s boxoffice take (only 40% goes to the studio and the rest goes to the theater owners)

$191 / .08 = $2,387 million = $2.387 billion - projected total gross revenues (boxofiice, DVD rentals and sales, pay per view, cable, tv licensing, etc) assuming that boxoffice represents 8% of the total revenues.

If your math is correct and the studio really did make $2.387MIL on M&MS…then Brad had one hell of a payday. His contract was $20MIL or a percentage of the BOX OFFICE GROSS, whichever is greater. I read 20%, but I thought that was ridiculous. But if these numbers are right and the studio made close to $2.4BIL, then giving Brad 20% of the BO was a hills of beans. That would have been around $95.6MIL. I knew he’d made more than $20MIL on M&MS…I just didn’t realize HOW MUCH more!

Also, if these number are accurate, then the Forbes list is a total freaking joke! I knew the Forbes list was inaccurate on Brad’s income, but I had no idea it was so far off. A number of other people on last year’s list they did get right - like Johnny Depp. They had his income at about $78MIL for the 2 Pirates movies the year before. And that’s about what I’d read he’d made on his percentage deal. But with Brad for 2005 they were WAY off the mark. Brad got BO percentages on ALL the Oceans movies, M&MS and Troy. He’s probably got the same deal for TCCOBB, too. Any big budget film he does he always gets that $20MIL or a percentage deal.

Doing the math makes me think about that hilarious story that both Star & NE did saying that Brad and Angie had a $200MIL pre-nup and Brad was worth around $150MIL and Angie at $50MIL. If the numbers for M&MS are right - $95.6MIL, plus his O13 payday at around $25MIL - plus whatever he was worth after he dumped X (and they kept their money separate…so what does that tell ya about that marriage!). The rumors were that he got $35+MIL for O11, $30+MIL for 012 and $35-40MIL for Troy. And don’t forget his foreign commercials at $3-4MIL a pop. Plus his properties and other business interests. Well…let’s just say that $150MIL for Brad is probably WRONG. Duh. The Star and NE need buy their staff a cheapie calculator because they apparently ran out of fingers to count.

Passing Through there was a poster on JJB who seemed quite knowledgeable that said Brad had $20 million against %20 of the gross OF EVERYTHING MaMS, whichever was greater. So I was estimating Brad’s take at closer to $210 (after his agent and management got there percentage) given licensing for Pay Per View, cable, etc. and DVD sales. MaMS has never left the top 10 list of the Netflix Top 100, since it was released

BTW - I’m throwing a bone to US for busting L&S…but I still wouldn’t plunk down $4 for their Shiloh exploitation cover…and believe me…I was tempted. The pix look great. They even have a few seemingly legit quotes from Brad’s grandmother - who said that all 4 of the kids were there and it was great to meet them; and that Shiloh is walking & talking and is the spitting image of Brad. OK quotes X as saying she’s never had any plastics work done (Who does she think she’s fooling? Nic Kidman?), but say she’s admitted to having a deviated septum fixed. Their paid expert plastics man said “fixing a deviated septum” is a codename for a nose job! LOL. He pretty much said X is a big arsed lyin’ ho.

So over to the side of the story OK has 4 pix and break down the elements of X’s face and what they think she had done -

- Nose: fixed that bulbous tip and narrowed the bridge. The doc said is “more refined”.

In PT-ese that translates to: “It’s pointy now and not spread all over half her face…which don’t mean it’s an improvement”.

- Lips: both lips “enhanced” with Restylane or some other filler .

In PT-ese that translates to: They’re still thin, but at least you can tell she has lips now. Before this she was gumming her smokes.

- Skin: Dermabrasion or laser treatment to resurface the skin, filled in brackets around her mouth with restylane.

In PT-ese that translates to: You can still see those big ass pores of hers from a mile away and the b#tch is stile a sickly orange color. There is not a laser strong enough to “resurface” the moon, let alone her face.

Angie has known Randall Wallace for years. She first starting looking at his “The Mercenary” project almost 5 years ago. There even pix of Angie carring around Wallace’s book of the same name because she was reading it and doing research. It was Angie who suggested Randall Wallace to write the Atlas Shrugged script that he completed last year and that Vadim Perelman used as a starting point for his own version of the book. “The Mercenary” got shelfved in 2003 when Wallace couldn’t get any financial backing for the movie. I mean a Catherine The Great epic just ain’t gonna cause too many producers to pant and drop $50-70MIL in someone’s lap. But Angie didn’t have the cache then that she has now and having her attached to the project could probably get it green lighted.

I know. People don’t really have a clue. I didn’t even list out the values of his properties that are usually listed -

- Santa Barbar Compound: $20+MIL
- Malibu House: $8MIL + $2MIL in renovations in 2006
- Los Feliz: $7MIL + $4-5MIL in recent renovations

So there’s another $41MIL in Cali property and I’m pretty sure that’s not all the property Brad owns. I think he owns land in the Springfield area, too, but the value wouldn’t be nearly what the Cali land is worth. A long time ago (mid-90s, pre-Putrid) I read he owned property in New Jersey, but I can’t imagine for the life of me that he’d still have that, but you never know. And of course now they’ve got the NO house which is supposedly worth $3.5MIL.

…and to top it off…he’s got a Plan B (pun intended) for if the acting thing plays itself out…

So I was estimating Brad’s take at closer to $210 (after his agent and management got there percentage) given licensing for Pay Per View, cable, etc. and DVD sales. Hehehehe. EVERYTHING? I had read it was just the BO, but that would be cool if it was everything. I love hearing stories of actors, writers, directors, etc., who MAKE the studios give them their fair share of the profits. I was reading a story a couple of days about about the new X-Files movie and the creator, Chris Carter, was saying the reason it took so long to make the movie after the show ended (6 1/2 years) was because he spent 2-3 years fighting with FOX over his fair share of the profits. Carter was saying the show has been in syndication since it’s 5th year - over 11 years - and FOX was hiding profits from him. They did the same thing to David Duchovny and he had sued them and won years ago. Duchovny left the show after the 7th season, but Carter was there the full 9 so he wasn’t able to go after his money until the show ended. But it’s always the same thing with the studios - they lie and hide profits and cheat people out of their money. So if Brad is really getting 20% of everything…I hope he’s on the internet everyday check those Netflix numbers!

Also - don’t forget he co-owns the rights to the Steven Klein W photoshoot. So he made a few mil off those pix, too. Woo-hoo…go Bradley!

Now Angelina Jolie is fighting back with some cleavage. A whole lot of cleavage and some bright colors. Jolie has ditched her usual favored colors for her dresses of drab black and brown for a bright yellow dress that reveals some Christian Aguilera type cleavage.
