OlderSpeed Racer is Raining, Ooh Baby, It’s Raining

South Korean actor/singer Rain, aka Jung Ji Hoon, poses with the “The Mach 5″ at a special advance screening of his latest live action film adaptation Speed Racer at the ImaginAsian Center on Friday in Los Angeles.
This will be the first appearance in a Hollywood film for Rain, 25. He’ll play Taejo Togokhan, a rookie racer.
Speed Racer will premiere on Saturday, May 3, as the closing film at the Tribeca Film Festival, and will be released nationwide on Friday, May 9.

It is sad that the foreign actors have to take up western names but they have to if they want to make it in hollywood….

Yes, I’m another who became addicted to Korean dramas through “Full House” and Bi (Rain) on AZN TV. Comcast Cable discontinued AZN TV from its channel line-up three weeks ago, and I am having terrific withdrawals as I don’t find most of television interesting.
I’m an over sixty woman (with a university student) who loves Bi (Rain) and, hopefully, things will work out for him in film in the U.S. and, also, be successful in gaining a broader interest with his music. He has an interesting life story and is multi-talented!
As with the previous poster, I want to see him with shorter hair though he must have it long for projects. Congratulations, Bi!

Colbert has challenged Rain to a “dance-off” and Rain has accepted, or so I’ve read. Supposedly, Rain will be on the Colbert Report on Monday (4/28).
Not a big fan of his current look (too fussy and fey!) but he can look incredibly sexy–no Jang Dong Gun, but still, pretty hot. And one of the sexiest singing voices ever–when he is singing in Korean.
Looking forward to having more Asians in American entertainment MINUS the martial arts! There is some incredible talent (and wonderful eye candy, for the gents and ladies! :-))

I just saw this movie and Rain was soooo freakin’ good! I couldn’t help it and almost scream out his name while sitting in the theaters packed full of people. Hahaha! Rain is the best…overall the movie wasn’t so bad even though I only went to see it because Rain was in it.

Okay, so far according to the box office poll Speed Racer is not doing so well..but I don’t feel sorry for that because we all knew that Speed Racer was not going to be a smash hit..and we all would’ve been a lot more thrill if Rain was cast in a better movie. It doesn’t matter anyway because he was able to step into hollywood and make a debut regardless…I am still proud of Rain and will continue to support him all the way!!! Besides for those of you who are quick to make fun of the flop please know that not everyone is able to become successful right away…look at most hollywood stars who went through several different films before they were finally notice. All that matter is that “Rain” made his presence known and with that said it will only grow from here..because ya don’t already know he is talented and is extremely determined which will ultimately get him where he wants to go…
All in all I just want to wish Rain the best and to keep fighting!!
