Speed Racer is Raining, Ooh Baby, It’s Raining

South Korean actor/singer Rain, aka Jung Ji Hoon, poses with the “The Mach 5″ at a special advance screening of his latest live action film adaptation Speed Racer at the ImaginAsian Center on Friday in Los Angeles.

This will be the first appearance in a Hollywood film for Rain, 25. He’ll play Taejo Togokhan, a rookie racer.

Speed Racer will premiere on Saturday, May 3, as the closing film at the Tribeca Film Festival, and will be released nationwide on Friday, May 9.

ok. i know he has some enthusiastic fans.
but Many Japanese don’t know him very well.
because his singles and albums have never been reached the top 10 in the Japanese charts.
but other korean artist ( BoA TVXQ ) are widely known in Japan.
it’s true.

Ohh..I just wanted to say, who ever bashes on rain does NOT know who they are messing with..cuz Asian fans are the greatest (and craziest =P) fans EVERR.
LOVE YOU RAIN <33 So glad that hes getting recognized in the US ^_^ Only watching the movie for him. =)

he’s not that handsome in my opinion… but still very influential….
making fangirls go all crazy…..lol if it was Se7en…. then i’d go all crazy fangirl on him…. lol but still Rain is soooooo freaken popular…. my gosh… all the asian girls ever do at my school is talk about him….

“white” people usually are dumb when it comes to other cultures and their celebs….

People magazine has written a small article about Rain’s supporting role in Speed Racer.

However, they have attached someone’s else picture as being Rain.
Please send an notice to the Editor of People at …

editor@people.com and request their apology and recorrection.

We know Rain has worked very hard to get to where he is today.
He deserves to be recognized and identified correctly in all publications about him.

I just saw this movie and Rain was soooo freakin’ good! I couldn’t help it and almost scream out his name while sitting in the theaters packed full of people. Hahaha! Rain is the best…overall the movie wasn’t so bad even though I only went to see it because Rain was in it.

Okay, so far according to the box office poll Speed Racer is not doing so well..but I don’t feel sorry for that because we all knew that Speed Racer was not going to be a smash hit..and we all would’ve been a lot more thrill if Rain was cast in a better movie. It doesn’t matter anyway because he was able to step into hollywood and make a debut regardless…I am still proud of Rain and will continue to support him all the way!!! Besides for those of you who are quick to make fun of the flop please know that not everyone is able to become successful right away…look at most hollywood stars who went through several different films before they were finally notice. All that matter is that “Rain” made his presence known and with that said it will only grow from here..because ya don’t already know he is talented and is extremely determined which will ultimately get him where he wants to go…
All in all I just want to wish Rain the best and to keep fighting!!
