I like Miranda Kerr. But it’s true she has become a lot more popular due to dating Orlando Bloom. But she is a beautiful, sweet girl.

I watched an interview of hers this morning from The Today Show.
What i found weird was when, they introduced her. They introduced her as this Top World Supermodel and named all these other Aussie succesful models, but there was no mention of Alice Burdeu (another Aussie model, who to be frank is doing better on the Catwalks in New York, though i suppose Miranda has a more commercial look, as opposed to high fashion, plus she’s dating orlando now…so the poor girl will get noticed more that).

Whilst on the Today Show, I think Miranda got a little annoyed about all the questions they had for her about Orlando. And i dont blame her.

“Will Orlando be attending?” “What’s Orlando up to?” He met your father?”.

Let me tell you all a little secret. If Miranda didn’t want those questions about Orlando to be asked all she would need to do is have her publicist tell them not to ask them. Period. End of discussion. These questions are all pre arranged. That is how interviews are done. And if somehow they asked and she felt so bothered all she needed to do as soon as they mentioned his name was say, “You know, I am here to talk about modelling and David Jones, so let’s keep it to that.”

you are so right. That is what Orlando does before interviews. He tells them flat out not to ask those questions. She WANTS them to be asked.

It gets them noticed too to be able to put his name in print with their store. So why are you surprised that they really aren’t interested in you? In fact I’m baffeled as to why they are interested in him either. No accounting for taste I guess.

His career? His career won’t be hurt by being linked to her in any way, shape or form. Remember, studio honchos and producers are mostly male. Orlando banging a sexy lingerie model does nothing but earn him points in the boys club. they would pat him on the back if they could. Plus, it gets his name out there too. He is going to disappear from the scene again when he goes off to Hong Kong to film his movie, people need to be reminded that he exists. The only way that she could hurt his image is if she had a p orno past. And no, I’m not talking about those tasteful nudes that have come out. Those are beautiful.

I also saw the interview, and typically they do go over what questions are alright to ask.
Though in the interview Miranda did say she doesnt like to talk about her personal life, but she seemed happy to answer the questions about Orlando. Though toward the end of the interview it did seem to be a fair bit about Orlando, and i suppose she did look slightly uncomfortable at the end.

She has been on all of the entertainment shows promoting the new bra, as well in their newest commercial.
The press day in LA will most likely focus on the introduction of the new perfume. She is already in print ads for it.
I would make a pretty safe bet that she will be the one in the fantasy bra for the next runway show.
Not only will they renew her contract, it looks like they are setting her up to be the new face of VS.

I don’t understand all the commotion about her. Sure, she is moderately pretty, but she is only getting all this press for being Australia’s first Victoria’s Secret Model and for dating Orlando. She musn’t really be hitting the bigtime that much in order for her to promote one of our Aussie Dept stores. The quality and range of clothing here is far less superior than in the US. I guess it is a step up from Portmans (expensive but crappily made ladies clothing chain store) which she used to advertise.

I watched the YouTube clip, and I think she conducted herself well. She seemed sincere and very grounded for a 25 year old. I watched the interview and I thought she handled herself with poise and came across as very honest and sincere.

There is a picture of her holding a cigarette over at The Fashion Spot in her thread on page 141.

There is nothing normal about the way this girl uses this relationship.
No one who cares about another person would do something that crass. I think it was in fact pr-at least for a portion of it-but this girl has no savvy and had no idea how to play the game. She went way way overboard and made them both look like idiots. I have a gut feeling he is really embarrassed about all of this now.

I think its all for PR and I hope it all comes out in the open and embarrasses the living tar out of this girl. She is so smug about her pretend boyfriend it’s really sad to watch. I wish there was a way to get someone to look into it all and write about it and expose it. It would be hard to prove but there is always someone who knows and someone who is willing to talk.

Not sure how long you have been following this story but there is much more to it than that.

I agree that Hollywood has its own rules and that there’s a lot of pressure to conform to those rules. It was also good to point out that we don’t know what Orlando is going through. As for Miranda, I would go a little easier on her because you don’t know what it’s like to be in her shoes either. I think their relationship (whatever the nature of that really is) is mutually beneficial or Orlando wouldn’t want any part of it.

The name dropping was heavy since before Xmas. Check your facts.

I would like to say something. And i hope those you like the couple and think they are a real couple don’t get it wrong.
You say that people who don’t like the “relationship” (basically because they think Orlando is being used for her own purposes and even those of her family -remember the role her parents played eventually when they wanted to make a star of their 13 aged daughter- ) are almost crazy and jealous and they even believe in a conspiracy theory, reason for which they are out of their heads.

Well, I am not stupid either. And conspiracy theory may be a bit exagerated, but Hollywood has its own rules about how things must be. He belongs to that world and he maybe “compelled” to bow to circunstances. Many relationships are just business. LUnch business and “relationship” business. if Hollywood thinks this “circus” is good for business that will happen unless Orlando is willing to go without acting. that is the way it is.

if this was a true love story at some time, and If I were Orlando, I would split. I simply can’t stand being used.
But we don’t know what Orlando has to cope with and the price he has to pay for becaming the actor you want to be.
it may be neurotic to think of a conspiracy theory, blackmailing and so on… but it is really naive to believe that studios and producers, all the hollywood industry let stars like Orlando do as they please. Too much money at the stake. if there is no reason to think this relationship is a put on, there is not either a reason to think quite the opposite.

I have to say up front that my opinion has nothing to do with jealousy. I have no delusions of grandeur of hooking up with Orlando or anyone famous for that matter. It’s fortunate to be pretty and nothing more.

I do see a lot of peculiarities in this suddenly VERY public relationship as have been mentioned by several people earlier. I got a chance to do some PR in my early career, all questions are submitted and/or approved pre-interview. I’ve never seen it done any other way. So, I think it is fake when she acts like she isn’t delighted to name-drop Orlando. This is good for her. Publicity is good–period. I’m not sure what he gets out of this since it does seem to be damaging his popularity with his fan base. The whole derby bit was tacky and way over-the-top. I can only hope that his PR folks reign in the MK/OB parade of pda. It just makes him look used whether he is or not. It also makes her look like a manipulator whether she is or not. Discretion can be a good thing at this point.

Maybe they do have a great romantic relationship. Who knows? But it certainly comes across as less than authentic.

I like that people can come here and say what they think. Yes, there is some hating, and that’s not fun, but I skip those and read what people think. It’s fascinating.

The only reason a Hollywood studio would setup a matinee idol like OB with a pretend gf, would be if he were gay. They used to do this in the olden days. I suppose I think they’d be beyond such things now, but who knows. It doesn’t sound like OB is gay, so I think we can scrap this conspiracy theory as well.

Of course, it is good to be skeptical about some things: when confronted by a politician (most things said by George Bush with respect to 9/11, Iraq, etc), while speaking to a used car or mobile phone salesman, everyone should be skeptical about all forms of advertising, and so on. I do not understand you ****** people. How can you sit her all day long, judge, argument and dig in other peolpe lifes. And then try to find your own truth about it. Both she and Bloom is living by the rules of and are followers of Nicheren Buddhism. This together with health and nutritions is Mirandas big passions in life. She has hundreds of Nicheren books and she reads them daily. One of the messages in Nicheren that she lives by is “treat people like you want to be treated yourself, and if people treat you bad, do not give back, its just part of their journey in life”. She has never been mean or manipulated to anyone.

All the agentures and magazines that shoot her has always wanted her again. They’ve said that she is such a breath of fresh air in compared to other models. In between the shoots other models often smoke and sipping on cocacolalight, but miranda sings, drinking water and does her yogaposes for energy and talks to everybody.

And all of you who said that her parents used her when she was 13, wrong! It was her friends that entered her to the competition in Dolly magazine wich she won and that started her modelcarreer. First they asked her mother for permission and photos of her to send in, but her mother didn’t want her to become a model so she picked a photo where you could see her then very ugly teeth (she later on had braces for several years) but she won anyway. And she complited school, wich she found the most important thing. Most model doesn’t complete school but she did.

She’d always said that the modeling was just a hobby, what she really wants to do is help people to feel god about themselves and help them find a healthy lifestyle. To mindfullness. Why she is modelling now is because she finds it a good way to travel round the world and meet interesting people, she’s not that into the business itself. That’s why she’s trying so hard at the moment, so that she can make plenty of money and then quit and do her passion instead. That’s a very smart choise and noone can blame her fot that. You would do the same if you could.

And right now she is writing a book for young girls, called “treasure yourself” wich contain a summary of all that she learnt on the healthy living academy school, how to be healthy and thin without starving yourself as many model does. and its also about what she learnt from the buddism, about the mind, how to feel good about yourself and your body, hpw to find the inner peace and be happy. I think this book is just what the world needs today, with so many girls that feel bad about themselves and thieir body and have a wrong, bad picture about themselves. She does this because she wants to help people. And what do you do? Write this stupid and disguisting thing about her. Sometimes I just cant believe where the sympahy for our fellow beings disappeared. Over and out.
