Jamie Lee Curtis: I Wish Miley’s Parents Protected Her

Yahoo just posted this today and allowed comments at first then pulled them. Interesting. So, I’ll say the same thing here. Vanity Fair should be ashamed. They’ve taken advantage of a young girl and her family and are still running the photos just trying to put a different spin on it. They have no care for Miley and will do whatever they can get away with to make a buck. Disgusting.

OK, all 15 yr old girls want to look sexy. That’s not the point. And of course she is going to lack good judgement about this. Surely any woman out there remembers being 15.
What I see here is a lot of adults who were either supposed to be looking out for her and failed.
15 is a difficult time for a teenage girl. She is still a child, no matter how sexy she can or wants to be/look. That is why she needs an adult with a level head looking out for her true best interests. These type photos and this type hype can cause her future emotional problems.
The photos would have been fine if she was 18 but not at 15.

Those of you saying she’s not showing too much skin so it’s not a big deal, are really ignorant. It’s not a matter of how much skin she’s showing, it’s how suggestive the pictures are. You can take nude photos and not be suggestive. Yes, Miley could’ve said no, but the parents are just despicable for allowing pictures like this to be taken of their 15 year old child.

before this photo shoot there were many racy photos of her on the internet. she made more than one mistake, and you would think that she learned from it the first time…she’s not very bright for a 15 year old who can’t learn from her mistakes

Mileys parents were there for most of the shot.. unfortunately.. as said they had to leave before the last shot was taken.. which was the one that has started this whole scandal thing. I think.. that it was planned !
They obviously tricked miley into believing that it would be ‘artistic’ + ‘beautiful’ but really they’re trying to set a bad image. besides did you know this shoot was February 8th. get some new news jared, this is old stuff, we all know now. she made a mistake.. move on already.

me: i thinks shes right (#16) i think they planned it so they can start a scandal about miley. and they tricked miley into thinking it was gonna be “artistic” and “beautiful” just so she can get in trouble with the press and get embarrassed. why would they do such a thing. mileys suppose to be a good role model but in return they turn her into a trouble maker! plus personally me and my friends dont even think the pic is so bad whens shes done she can just keep holding the blanket agenst her chest and go in her dressing room its not like they can see her half naked. So why its on the news and everything! Its like a step up for her so when she gets older she can get use to posing for that kind of pics. SO POEPLE SHUT UP! of u dont like her fine i guess your too old for her her music and shows r for like 9-12 year olds so if u watch disney idk why its a pre-teen show not a adult show.

Miley has a mind of her own, and if her parents okay it….well, that is just none of anyone else’s damn business! If you don’t like it, don’t look at it!!!

Everyone is more naked, when wearing a bikini. Its just a naked back.
I think there are going on more problems. She is only 15, behaves like an adult, looks most of the time like 20 years old and there are pictures in the public which are more disturbing. And there are these parents who are also in the public and who seem to like it and who remind me a lot of the spears parents and we know how this ended.
There is nothing bad about nudity, about funny pictures of teens but there is a problem when no adult seems to really care.

I agree completely! Hilary Duff wasnt doing topless photos at 15 yrs old when she was on Disney. I dont think shes even done one now at almost 21.

I never imagined I’d be discussing Miley Cyrus. I must admit I only recently realized that Miley Cyrus and Hannah Montana were the same person after hearing about someone wanting to hijack an airplane and fly it into a Hannah Montana concert. But I digress. I do feel the need to weigh in on this “controversy”.

Hannah Montana is product of Disney. Miley Cyrus is 15 going 16. People have a problem differentiated these two facts. So when Hannah Montana exhibits sexuality, people feel like their brand loyalty has been compromised. When Miley Cyrus exhibits her sexuality a nation’s anxiety about teenage sexuality is exposed.

This brings back memories of Britney Spears’ vow of virginity because she (or her creators) knew it would ruin her image. Next thing you know she’s marrying every man she has sex with, exposing her crotch, shaving her head, being put in a mental institution, and having her children taken away from her. I’m not suggesting one equals the other, but when people don’t let someone grow up, they don’t.

Let Miley Cyrus grow up.

You all with daughters are SO naive. If you think she is acting ANY worse than ANY 15 year old you are just stupid. Your kids going to church every Sunday and pledging their virginity are lying. How many of them have a cell phone with a camera? I’ll bet 90% of you parents have NO idea about how many high-school boys have your daughter naked on their cell phone. And God forbid your ignorance lets you tell me I am wrong. I am 16.5 and go to a school considered VERY conservative. Wake up America! You have made all of your daughters whores!

Question JLC ? Didn’t YOU do a nude photo shoot? Telling women that they should be proud of their bodies no matter what your age. I can tell you that at 15 I certainly did not feel good enough about my my body to a picture like that. It’s contradictory to say “love your body,” but don’t look beautiful, don’t show it off, they may as well wear a long dress and join the LDS church. You are being naive check out, you-tube videos, and photos, stop pointing fingers at celebrities, and look at the majority of teenagers parents who fail miserably. We need to look with-in and not with-out at the problems with society.
