OlderJamie Lee Curtis: I Wish Miley’s Parents Protected Her
Actress Jamie Lee Curtis, who recently herself got into some controversy for posing “topless” for AARP magazine, weighs in on Miley Cyrus’s semi-topless scandal with Vanity Fair. Here’s an excerpt from her opinion piece:
When these young people get all dressed up for award show red-carpet events don’t we all comment how beautiful, stunning and grown-up they look in their strapless/backless dresses and heels and tousled hair? None of this is new. None of this should be news. But it is news because it is a business. It is all Business. It is called Show Business. Show Abyss-ness! I call it Show-OFF Business. You throw a child onto the jaws of a business and they will get eaten.
I know how Miley feels. I too was a little embarrassed by my recent topless “scandal” and the subsequent parodies, but I am an adult woman. I protected myself during the shoot and I can take the heat. I only wish that her guardians had protected her.

i think that she makes a very good point. jamie is a very smart woman. very sophisticated. i could c her topless only covered in a sheet because shes older. shes a woman. i respect that and i agree with ms. jamie. A+!!!

yeah maybe some of you are right…I mean it`s only a pic soo calm down guys. I know she makes a mistake… she`s only 15 years old and she is not angel…but guys she is only 15 and she is famous. Miley is trying to grow up, maybe it`s too early but…this is a choice that she must do.

After seeing some behind the sceens pics that showed Miley in pants and the sheet was pinned around her, i thnk the pic was beautiful. As for the ones of her showing her bra and stomach, all i can say is this… to all u teen girls,you KNOW there are pics of you like that out there too (unless you’re fat) and to the adults out there, there are pics of YOUR 15yr old daughter just like the ones of Miley out there so GET OVER IT!!
