OlderMiley Cyrus’ Vanity Fair Pictures Arrive
The Vanity Fair photo spread of Miley Cyrus has been released! As always, here are some of the interview highlights:
On Sex and the City: “It’s my favorite show! I love it! Obviously not the scenarios. But if you watch Sex and the City, like the way the friends are, the way that it’s dry and they all have distinct characters—that’s a thing we try to do on our show.”
On the infamous semi-topless shot: “No, I mean I had a big blanket on. And I thought, This looks pretty, and really natural. I think it’s really artsy. [And] it wasn’t in a skanky way.… And you can’t say no to [photographer Annie Leibovitz]. She’s so cute. She gets this puppy-dog look and you’re like, O.K.”
On whose career trajectory she’d like to follow: “Before, I’d say like Hilary Duff. But there can’t be a thousand Hilary Duffs. Then that doesn’t make Hilary special. And there can’t be a thousand Miley Cyruses, or that doesn’t make me special. That’s what a star is: they’re different. A celebrity is different. So, no, mostly I want to make my own path.”
On being well-adjusted to the fame and public attention: “That’s just my personality. I don’t get shaken or stirred up over anything. Which can be a problem sometimes. I’m just, like, so no emotions. I just don’t let things faze me. I’m very much like my dad. My dad’s like this.”
On being pals with paparazzi camped out of her gated home. “Sometimes there’ll be like 40. Sometimes 20, sometimes 30. Sometimes two. I’ll stop and I’ll do the picture. It’s really funny. They’ll buy our dinner and whatever. We’ve become friends.”

First of all, who are you to ridicule her, and secondly, the pics look fine…she’s posing with her dad! As for the one with the blanket, her family was there! Younger girls in generally wear less than she does on a daily basis! The picture was done tastefully and looks great, so back off!

Everytime a beautiful, talented and SMART girl comes on the scene, people all sit around waiting for something so they can call her provocative or shes not a good role model for their kids. Parents should just BE the role models for their kids instead of searching for one and then complaining about them later or when they see fit. If you teach your kids good values they won’t need to be like everyone they see on T.V.
Miley Cyrus seems like on good kid……I mean young lady and thats what you all don’t see. I have a 13 year old I don’t want her to grow up but its GOING to happen!! She may do things I don’t like or not argee with but I’m NOT going to blame a picture of Miley Cyrus or say it was because some Pop star was drunk………..I WILL look at myself and what I teach as she grows.

My daughter doesnot know Miley Cyrus personally so I can say that she can influence me except for maybe the cool shirt Hannah Montana wore on saturday morning.
Take reponiblity more and the world may be a better place, put all energy WASTED on worring about Miley Cyrus’ pictures and spend some time with your KIDS!!!!!
Even the picture with her dad looks risky. There are better ways to pose for a father and daughter picture without her laying on his lap with a belly top and low jeans. What about a glam picture with both parents? As far as the one with her alone, she didnt have to let them take it. Guess she coulndt say no just like her other pictures with her girlfriends. There is so much more worse stuff going on in the world whats the big deal with a few pictures? besides the fact that her audience is a younger crowd… Miley is going to grow up and out of the little girl stage we all do
At first she said she thought the photos were artsy, and then when there was controversy, she changed her mind….PLEASE!!!!
I think the worst photo is of her and Billy Ray with half of her midrif showing laying across his lap. That picture screams SEX, and if you didn’t know he was her father, you would think he was a pervert-which he may be.
She dresses very provactively most of the time, so this doesn’t surprise me. Have you seen the way she dances while “performing”? Totally inappropiate for a 15 year old role model!!!
Its ironic how a bare back is “******” and “provocative” while taking pictures of your naked 2 year old in a tub is just “adorable.” Lets face it, the pictures are artistic. The concerned parents who disagree need to stop relying on teen idols to raise their kids for them. You don’t like it… tell your kids not to do it. But remember…different opinions are out there and just because they arn’t your own…doesn’t make them wrong. I applaud Miley for being comfortable in her skin. Its a very difficult thing in today’s society.
It’s disturbing to see someone the age of 15 posing so provactively. What’s makes it worst is the fact that this 15 year old is looked up to by thousands of young girls. Awful role model. My comment has nothing to do with being perfect - everyone makes mistakes, but when your a Celebrity there comes a responsibility to the ones that follow you. I also think the photo with her father is border line to say the least.
I am a believer and follower of Jesus Christ as the Cyrus’ are as well. Would Jesus be saddened by the photos?
In my opinion this is a beautiful and classic photo. Yeah, she may obviously be lying to the press, but she’s 15! 15 year olds make mistakes. This phot only shows her shoulder and her back and I don’t find anything wrong with it. What is the difference if she did it now versus doing it when she’s 18. If old men are fantasizing about her it would have happened regardless!

So lets see her parents or at least her dad was there. She was being photographed by one of the world’s premier photographers. Does she and her “people” think we are stupid? Leibowitz would never release pictures of an under aged child without someone’s consent. Signed consent at that. Parents or guardians fess up and that goes for you as well Miley. All of you knew that this would get her millions of dollars of free publicity. Some one gave consent period end of story.

The pose definitely isn’t appropriate for a 15 year old and honestly, that’s the photographer’s fault. Not exactly Miley’s all though, yes, she could have told her no but:

If she means it like she says it, who knows, but it’s her word against ours. None of us were there.
Otherwise, whether or not you think she’s attractive, is your perspective and opinion, but if you’re using this picture to spread your dislike for her, I’m sorry but that’s kind of… childish.
While the picture is inappropriate and I’ll admit, I’m not a big fan of her singing wise, she otherwise is a good role model who has so far only made ONE mistake in her career, which is agreeing to take this picture.

The photos of Miley are tastfully done. She is appropriately covered in the photos. She might be topless, but she is covered. All one sees is her bare upper back and her bare shoulders. Is the photo wrong just because she is 15? NO!!!!! You don’t see anything but her upper back and her shoulders.
As far as the photo of her with her dad, Billy Ray, and she is wearing a shirt that is showing off part of her bare belly……So what!!! That is not the point of the photo. The point of the photo is her and her dad. It’s been made very clear that they are very close. The closeness of the two is the focus of the photograph. As far as the style of the clothing Miley is wearing in the photo, that has been the style of clothing for girls Miley’s age ever since I was Miley’s age, and I’m 48 years old now. I don’t think Billy Ray would allow Miley to do the wrong kind of photos. And those are not the wrong kind of photos.
People of this country seriously need to stop thinking in archaic and purtitanical ways when it comes to the human body.
