The Vanity Fair photo spread of Miley Cyrus has been released! As always, here are some of the interview highlights:
On Sex and the City: “It’s my favorite show! I love it! Obviously not the scenarios. But if you watch Sex and the City, like the way the friends are, the way that it’s dry and they all have distinct characters—that’s a thing we try to do on our show.”
On the infamous semi-topless shot: “No, I mean I had a big blanket on. And I thought, This looks pretty, and really natural. I think it’s really artsy. [And] it wasn’t in a skanky way.… And you can’t say no to [photographer Annie Leibovitz]. She’s so cute. She gets this puppy-dog look and you’re like, O.K.”
On whose career trajectory she’d like to follow: “Before, I’d say like Hilary Duff. But there can’t be a thousand Hilary Duffs. Then that doesn’t make Hilary special. And there can’t be a thousand Miley Cyruses, or that doesn’t make me special. That’s what a star is: they’re different. A celebrity is different. So, no, mostly I want to make my own path.”
On being well-adjusted to the fame and public attention: “That’s just my personality. I don’t get shaken or stirred up over anything. Which can be a problem sometimes. I’m just, like, so no emotions. I just don’t let things faze me. I’m very much like my dad. My dad’s like this.”
On being pals with paparazzi camped out of her gated home. “Sometimes there’ll be like 40. Sometimes 20, sometimes 30. Sometimes two. I’ll stop and I’ll do the picture. It’s really funny. They’ll buy our dinner and whatever. We’ve become friends.”

In a day when too many children avoid any meaningful contact with their parents and try to get away and stay away from them, I found the pic refreshing. Obviously, this father and daughter have an honet, genuine closeness that says,” I support and accept you, and you support and accept me.” Volumes of their pics in the past reflect it as well. Why do so many people jump to assume that any physical contact has its roots in something not quite right? Maybe we should be a little more concerned about what happens behind closed doors in Texas and a whole lot less concerned about this. Oh, by the way, check out any print ad and see what’s being sold for young girls to wear. Miley is dressing in what’s available and a lot more modestly than some.
Oh wow. In my opinion, I think these pictures are quite classy. She’s 15, she’s no Brittany spears or Lindsay Lohan, Back off of her. She’s a gorgeous girl who’s just exploring and learning her limits. She shouldn’t be embarrassed. These photos are amazing. She’s not fckn naked people. this isn’t the first time she’s done something dumb for a camera. if she’s not taking the picture herself, she’s gladly posing and showing her stuff for someone else when she knows it’s gonna end up on the internet. in the june 2008 issue of tiger beat magazine, there’s a quote from miley in the bottom right corner which states: “i like to look like what girls want to look up to.” page 37. look it up. all this ***** is doing is begging for attention and teaching her poor little fans to become prostitutes! pssht. then she apologizes when things get out of hand. what did she THINK was going to happen?? and there are like……6 different inappropriate pics of her on the web now! she’s not sorry if she keeps doing it! disney needs to fire her sorry ___ just like vanessa and jamie lynn need to go because they’re not any better examples to the little girls that look up to them! she posed in every single one of those pics, knowing that there would be a big controversy when someone saw them. and seriously, that pose with her and her dad like that- GROSS.

Well not saying anything about wether or not i like miley cyrus BUT
I do not think it was wise of her to do this photo shoot
because there are millions of 8 to 12 year olds (mainly) who look up to her. Now what type of message is she sending to them??? It’s just a sad day in our society when people question the pose between her and her dad, its not like they are trying to be sexy and it just shows how society has gone OTT with PC bs.
It’s me again…the nudist…the one that was defending Vanessa Hudgens about her nude photo. Well, it seems I gotta defend Miley now. First of all, Miley’s photos are not bad. Heck, Vanessa was more natural and Miley’s not even nude. Now…obviously this debate will never end. There will be those that defend her and those that bash her. But, let me explain nudism in greater detail. Nudists are not exhibitionists. They do have sex…behind closed doors! Nudity and sex are two very different things. Sex is done behind closed doors, but nudity is natural and should be free for everyone. In fact, kids that are raised by nudists grow up and have healthy relationships along with respect for themselves and others. Try finding that here in this country that frowns upon natural nudity! Nudist kids don’t have the desire to play doctor with members of the opposite sex. Boys don’t look up girls’ dresses and skirts in a nudist environment, aside from the fact that they are nude and see the differences with each other. Nude is not lewd in a nudist environment. Any of that here in this “textile” environment? Hardly likely. And, kids are nudists from the moment they are born until the moment when prude mommy and daddy teach them that it’s wrong to be nude around others. ‘Nuff said?
