The Vanity Fair photo spread of Miley Cyrus has been released! As always, here are some of the interview highlights:
On Sex and the City: “It’s my favorite show! I love it! Obviously not the scenarios. But if you watch Sex and the City, like the way the friends are, the way that it’s dry and they all have distinct characters—that’s a thing we try to do on our show.”
On the infamous semi-topless shot: “No, I mean I had a big blanket on. And I thought, This looks pretty, and really natural. I think it’s really artsy. [And] it wasn’t in a skanky way.… And you can’t say no to [photographer Annie Leibovitz]. She’s so cute. She gets this puppy-dog look and you’re like, O.K.”
On whose career trajectory she’d like to follow: “Before, I’d say like Hilary Duff. But there can’t be a thousand Hilary Duffs. Then that doesn’t make Hilary special. And there can’t be a thousand Miley Cyruses, or that doesn’t make me special. That’s what a star is: they’re different. A celebrity is different. So, no, mostly I want to make my own path.”
On being well-adjusted to the fame and public attention: “That’s just my personality. I don’t get shaken or stirred up over anything. Which can be a problem sometimes. I’m just, like, so no emotions. I just don’t let things faze me. I’m very much like my dad. My dad’s like this.”
On being pals with paparazzi camped out of her gated home. “Sometimes there’ll be like 40. Sometimes 20, sometimes 30. Sometimes two. I’ll stop and I’ll do the picture. It’s really funny. They’ll buy our dinner and whatever. We’ve become friends.”

I am 13. i have seven siblings, 1 little sis, who was in love with Hannah, Montanna. when i first saw her i confronted my mom about my little sister watching the show six hours a day. my mom was careless and thought that since the young pop star had a (supposedly) loving and caring father, that she would be a good role model. But I knew from the start that miley cyrus was going to end up like Brittney Spears. first of all she cant sing for her life. She doesnt have to, she has so many backround singers that you can hardly hear her voice. and most of the songs she records in the studios is computerized. The only reason she ever got a singing career was because her ‘daddy’ had plenty of conections and because he was a star himself. Second of all, I dont think she is pretty at all ! And the picture of her and her father makes them look like incests. One of the producers that happened to be at the photo shoot said “she looked more like his girlfriend, not his daughter.” The pictures taken makes you question child abuse and maybe a sexual relationship betwenn Miley Cyrus and her Father. And you probably keep asking yourself”why in the world would a caring father let his daughter take half naked pictures, considering the fact that they could posted in magazines, on the internet and on the news?”Miley said that she was embaressed and didnt know they would be posted nationwide?! thats a lie. She knows she cant even go to Mcdonalds with out having 20 paparazzis in there!
Ithink that miley Cyrus is traveling on the wrong path, and is taking a turn for the worst, like most pop stars end up doing.

Don’t fight. # 428 is so rite. We DON’T want someone like her as our role model, though she WAS mine. Now Selena Gomez is and so is Ashley Tisdale. I know some kids take worse pics. I think that it wasn’t Miley fault. It was the photographer’s fault. They should have known better than to put a 15 year-old in just a towel. I bet the parents thought that they didn’t have to worry about their daughter being “sexed up.” They probably thought that they could trust the company. And plus they only left for a half-hour, so really the parents can’t be to blame. Miley, I know it wasn’t your fault so I forgive you. (God forgives you too!)

I fail to understand why this is a mistake, although she is young, shes not nude, she looks stunning and they’re amazingly taken’ photos. She’s with her father for the shoot and I think if anyone was going to prevent this due to inappropriate-ness it would be Billy Ray himself. I would be proud to be in a photo like that with my father. Its beautiful. Keep in mind she’s also clothed in that particular photo..in case any of you forgot. I think the only reason she’s apologizing is to make the meda happy and good for her, she shouldn’t be sorry. And I say this not as a fan because personally I’ve never heard one song or seen her show. Also, some of you have mentioned what kind of fifteen year old would do something like this, well as an eighteen year old female who just recently left highschool I can honestly say pretty much all of them.
