The Vanity Fair photo spread of Miley Cyrus has been released! As always, here are some of the interview highlights:
On Sex and the City: “It’s my favorite show! I love it! Obviously not the scenarios. But if you watch Sex and the City, like the way the friends are, the way that it’s dry and they all have distinct characters—that’s a thing we try to do on our show.”
On the infamous semi-topless shot: “No, I mean I had a big blanket on. And I thought, This looks pretty, and really natural. I think it’s really artsy. [And] it wasn’t in a skanky way.… And you can’t say no to [photographer Annie Leibovitz]. She’s so cute. She gets this puppy-dog look and you’re like, O.K.”
On whose career trajectory she’d like to follow: “Before, I’d say like Hilary Duff. But there can’t be a thousand Hilary Duffs. Then that doesn’t make Hilary special. And there can’t be a thousand Miley Cyruses, or that doesn’t make me special. That’s what a star is: they’re different. A celebrity is different. So, no, mostly I want to make my own path.”
On being well-adjusted to the fame and public attention: “That’s just my personality. I don’t get shaken or stirred up over anything. Which can be a problem sometimes. I’m just, like, so no emotions. I just don’t let things faze me. I’m very much like my dad. My dad’s like this.”
On being pals with paparazzi camped out of her gated home. “Sometimes there’ll be like 40. Sometimes 20, sometimes 30. Sometimes two. I’ll stop and I’ll do the picture. It’s really funny. They’ll buy our dinner and whatever. We’ve become friends.”

i used to hate miley but love her at the same time, but now i dont hate her anymore because everyone is treating her like a **** when shes just being a normal teenager, ive seen some of my friends take worse fotos. i mean at least this time she is covered up and if everyone would realised she was wear a top and pants under the sheet!! and also the bra foto is bad i mean she was just havin a little fun i mean heck ive taken fotos with a friend in just my bra and undies and im a year younger than her so give her an f-ing break shes trying to live her life they way she wants and is trying to be a regular tenn!!
i think miley is a great role model and shes just made a few mistakes on her way, i mean heck like her song says nobodys perfect.

Oh where does one start?…..So many opinions…I have a 15 year old
daughter and she feel she would have had enough brains to say
“no” to removing any clothing and I can guarantee my husband would
not have posed with our daughter in that manner. The one’s to blame here are the parents. They were aware this photo shoot was going on
regardless of the statement made that Billy Ray left the photo shoot
early…that is unbelievable…and grandma was supposedly there but
she could not stop it?? This is all a joke as it is obvious that all
of the things Miley is doing have been strategically planned…the website photos and the Vanity Fair event..probably all a ploy to see
if she could annoy Disney enough as she no longer want to be
Hannah Montanna (her show) so why doesn’t Disney finish the job
and boot her out already…what happened to Disney being about
family??? and for Heavan’s sake, I hope the Jonas Brothers no longer
support Miley as this nice Christian family is going to be brought down
if they hang with Hollywood Diva’s like Miley and her insane dad too.

I mean who would let their 15 year old daughter take topless photos for a magazine????????I repeat they just want the millions of dollars that girl makes a year.The Brittney train has got a NEW passenger.Plus they had her 8 year old sister watching it. She’s 8 and she already seen her 15 year old sister take these pictures.In about 7 mores years little miss Noah is going to be the new passenger on the train.She looks like a zombie!!!!

Okay, having said all that, I’ve just dug up this snippet; Brooke Shields acted in Pretty Baby in 1978, complete with frontal and rear nudity, at a tender age 13. Then at 14, she acted in the controversial Blue Lagoon, although a body double did her nude/semi-nude scenes. No one seems to remember those 2 movies with an under-age actress acting in neo-erotica films. Sooooo …. could be, no one will remember this episode either (shrug) ….

A little bit of a strange photoshoot. I wouldn’t pose with my dad like that but….It’s not necessarily inappropriate just a little wierd. The bedsheet picture looks worse then it actually is. It’d have the same effect if she was wearing a tube top. It’s not that big of a deal, I think it’s just that they tried to make her look sexy and a fifteen year old doesn’t need to look sexy. That being said, I don’t see anyone all up in arms about how the girl dances on stage. Now that’s inappropriate for a fifteen year old.
I can’t believe her parents were there at the shoot. She shouldn’t have given in when she didn’t want to. She is a horrible role model.

Everyone should just calm down. Most 15 year old girls love to
pose and act older than they are and Miley does it in the public eye.
The photos are unfortunate and definitely don’t define “art” in my opinion. However, the choice was made by her and her parents to do the shoot. And they will live with the consequences. None of that makes her any of the names she is being called or alters her character. Don’t buy the magazine and don’t watch her program

Let’s address the picture of Miley and her dad. Doesn’t that photo look a little too sexy for a dad and his daughter to be taking together? I don’t know. Maybe it’s just me. I wouldn’t take a picture with my hand on my dads thigh. Nasty! OMG!

After a good night’s sleep and after listening to Donny Deutch this morning on the Today show, i’d have to say that Miley is just trying to cash in while she can. it’s obvious her talent is very lilmited and she’s trying to get as much limelight and money as possible before the next young thing comes along.
Shameful.

I used to be a fan of Miley, not any more. Although I still like her music (no doubt she’s a talented singer) I DO NOT LIKE HER.
I, like so many of my friends, have totally lost respect for her.
To all those who have said she’s the next Britney - I’m afraid you’re right. Have a little respect for yourself Miley, please stop and consider what you’re doing to your career, you’re alienating your fans.

i know why the hell is she talking about sex and the city. i dont have a problem with her watching it i mean what she does on her own time is her problem.i def didtn watch anything like that when i was 15. but you cant stop kids now a days from doing what they are going to do. my problem was how she anounced it. i think she should have kept that to her self. it made her look bad. i dont know in my eyes it just sounded tacky to say. i dont have a probem that she watched it. my problem that she said it just didnt sit well. and why is she watching it anyway. half that stuff shoul be going way over her head!
