The Vanity Fair photo spread of Miley Cyrus has been released! As always, here are some of the interview highlights:
On Sex and the City: “It’s my favorite show! I love it! Obviously not the scenarios. But if you watch Sex and the City, like the way the friends are, the way that it’s dry and they all have distinct characters—that’s a thing we try to do on our show.”
On the infamous semi-topless shot: “No, I mean I had a big blanket on. And I thought, This looks pretty, and really natural. I think it’s really artsy. [And] it wasn’t in a skanky way.… And you can’t say no to [photographer Annie Leibovitz]. She’s so cute. She gets this puppy-dog look and you’re like, O.K.”
On whose career trajectory she’d like to follow: “Before, I’d say like Hilary Duff. But there can’t be a thousand Hilary Duffs. Then that doesn’t make Hilary special. And there can’t be a thousand Miley Cyruses, or that doesn’t make me special. That’s what a star is: they’re different. A celebrity is different. So, no, mostly I want to make my own path.”
On being well-adjusted to the fame and public attention: “That’s just my personality. I don’t get shaken or stirred up over anything. Which can be a problem sometimes. I’m just, like, so no emotions. I just don’t let things faze me. I’m very much like my dad. My dad’s like this.”
On being pals with paparazzi camped out of her gated home. “Sometimes there’ll be like 40. Sometimes 20, sometimes 30. Sometimes two. I’ll stop and I’ll do the picture. It’s really funny. They’ll buy our dinner and whatever. We’ve become friends.”

i think miley is going to regret all of this. if she doesnt thats on her. personally i dont like her. i did at one point and so did my 9 year old sister, who WANTED to be like her. but seriously, on a reality level, miley, grow the **** up, ur 15. not 7. to show urself out in public as a role model to 0-13 yr. olds then take pictures that are “sleezy” is beyond what a 15 yr old should be doing. i still respect you and all, dont like u but respect her, but my sister, dude i would not want her to do that. its to ******. im sorry, but grow up or lose ur fans. and make an actual appology, not a fake one, but mean it mayb. dnt b a prissy b****. ur not that pretty. dont try to look sexy, the ugly pouty lip thing dont work on u. really.. u look like a retarded dork on crack ok. not sexy, but scary
ok im not calling her names or anything i just think in my opinion i just didnt like the photo. to me she didnt look conformtable. but i do lik the photo of her and her dad looks more real. but the one with the blanket i just really wish they wouldn’t run it but how else are they going to sell magazines right. anyways i applaud her for taking care of it the best way she can i mean shes 15 and shes bound to make mistake but hopefully she’ll learn from them.
um,if my dad posed with me like that,i would be creaped out. I dont really think she knew how bad these photos were going to turn out.And what is the deal with all of her picture scandels???????She’s 15 for gods sake!!! She is by far the sluttiest 15 year old i know.
ok….so i am not a hannah or miley fan but that is only my opinion…sry if u don’t like it…she just seems like the kind of girl that will stab u in the back….i know its not right to judge people if u don’t really know them but thats just how i feel…and i would have to say that i agree with shrimp and tiffany they both make really good points….miley does need to grow up and realize that there are younger kids looking up to her and that she cant go around just doing anything….she needs to learn from her mistakes but she cant learn from them until she realizes she has made bad choices….i also cant blam her for lookin the way she does in pic(she is tryin to look to sexy though) its just the way the magazine is…..its not like ur going to see sumone posing in sweats for VF…like is said i have to agree with shrimp and tiffany….LOVE YOU TIFF!!!!
This morning the link from JJ took you to VF site and it showed about 8-10 pics. But, now those pics have been removed from the VF website. It shows one main pic on the main page, but all the pics from this morning are gone.

Am I the only one who finds the photo with her father to be more inappropriate than the one with the blanket? It’s the type of photo usually taken of lovers. Creepy.
She wasn’t forced to do anything by the photographer. She could’ve voiced her concerns. Her parents definitely should have voiced theirs.

I don’t understand what the big deal is about this picture. they way in which they posed her with her dad is a little odd but I really don’t think the “topless” one is scandalous at all. in the published shot, she looks more sad than sexualized and really what do we see? her shoulders. i am more concerned about this kind of pressure being put on a 15 year old girl than I am about her taking a picture in a blanket.

I just want to say……… she said in the interview ” you can’t say no to Annie” …..for Christ sakes.. she’s 15 years old… a MINOR…. i just find that wrong on so many levels that she’s THAT desperate for publicity she cant say no to something like that. AND now to go and say she is embarrassed by the photos, maybe next time she should think before she acts before she ruins her image that young girls look up to.

I think she is an excellent role model for young girls, at least her show is wholesome. How many of you hypocrites have actually seen her show? As far as her pose with her Dad, shes just laying on his lap, we should all be so lucky to be that close to our fathers at 15 years old, have you never layed on your Dads lap?

i dont find anythgin wrong with these pictures…. first of all shes almost 16… thats liek a sophomore in high school…. and yes, she does have a younger fan base but thats in her television show. she cant stay a disney star forever and she shouldnt have to act younger then seh is just because he fan base is younger. shes fifteen… let her act fifteen and not 8. your a teenager you make mistakes. half of the dresses you see on teen starts from high school musical, hannah montana and other shows are lower cut or more revealing then these photos. if she was in a bathing suit she would be showing more skin but would people have a problem with that. I think if a picture of miley in a bathing suit showed up in a teen/tween magazine no one would have a problem with it. I think the fact that its vainty fair (an older magazine) they are seen as more provocative then if they were in a magazine fr her age group. And as they said on teh view this morning…when you are surrounded by photogs, styleists and shoot manageers and everyone is telling you it looks good, then you think it looks good. you dont question it. and even if you look on the vanity fair website…the blanket sheet doesnt evencome down that low in teh back just because of the way the photo is cropped and the way she is angled it looks worse then it is… give her a break shes 15!
