OlderMiley Cyrus’ Vanity Fair Pictures Arrive
The Vanity Fair photo spread of Miley Cyrus has been released! As always, here are some of the interview highlights:
On Sex and the City: “It’s my favorite show! I love it! Obviously not the scenarios. But if you watch Sex and the City, like the way the friends are, the way that it’s dry and they all have distinct characters—that’s a thing we try to do on our show.”
On the infamous semi-topless shot: “No, I mean I had a big blanket on. And I thought, This looks pretty, and really natural. I think it’s really artsy. [And] it wasn’t in a skanky way.… And you can’t say no to [photographer Annie Leibovitz]. She’s so cute. She gets this puppy-dog look and you’re like, O.K.”
On whose career trajectory she’d like to follow: “Before, I’d say like Hilary Duff. But there can’t be a thousand Hilary Duffs. Then that doesn’t make Hilary special. And there can’t be a thousand Miley Cyruses, or that doesn’t make me special. That’s what a star is: they’re different. A celebrity is different. So, no, mostly I want to make my own path.”
On being well-adjusted to the fame and public attention: “That’s just my personality. I don’t get shaken or stirred up over anything. Which can be a problem sometimes. I’m just, like, so no emotions. I just don’t let things faze me. I’m very much like my dad. My dad’s like this.”
On being pals with paparazzi camped out of her gated home. “Sometimes there’ll be like 40. Sometimes 20, sometimes 30. Sometimes two. I’ll stop and I’ll do the picture. It’s really funny. They’ll buy our dinner and whatever. We’ve become friends.”

So lets see her parents or at least her dad was there. She was being photographed by one of the world’s premier photographers. Does she and her “people” think we are stupid? Leibowitz would never release pictures of an under aged child without someone’s consent. Signed consent at that. Parents or guardians fess up and that goes for you as well Miley. All of you knew that this would get her millions of dollars of free publicity. Some one gave consent period end of story.

The pose definitely isn’t appropriate for a 15 year old and honestly, that’s the photographer’s fault. Not exactly Miley’s all though, yes, she could have told her no but:

Otherwise, whether or not you think she’s attractive, is your perspective and opinion, but if you’re using this picture to spread your dislike for her, I’m sorry but that’s kind of… childish.
While the picture is inappropriate and I’ll admit, I’m not a big fan of her singing wise, she otherwise is a good role model who has so far only made ONE mistake in her career, which is agreeing to take this picture.

The photos of Miley are tastfully done. She is appropriately covered in the photos. She might be topless, but she is covered. All one sees is her bare upper back and her bare shoulders. Is the photo wrong just because she is 15? NO!!!!! You don’t see anything but her upper back and her shoulders.
As far as the photo of her with her dad, Billy Ray, and she is wearing a shirt that is showing off part of her bare belly……So what!!! That is not the point of the photo. The point of the photo is her and her dad. It’s been made very clear that they are very close. The closeness of the two is the focus of the photograph. As far as the style of the clothing Miley is wearing in the photo, that has been the style of clothing for girls Miley’s age ever since I was Miley’s age, and I’m 48 years old now. I don’t think Billy Ray would allow Miley to do the wrong kind of photos. And those are not the wrong kind of photos.
People of this country seriously need to stop thinking in archaic and purtitanical ways when it comes to the human body.

People need to stop harassing celebs about every little thing they do, it doesn’t matter, it doesn’t change the world, and talking about it is only promoting it, making it easier for children to get a hold of…and what we really need right now is a shallower kids. [Note the sarcasm]

I truly don’t understand why people after having such a fit over these “scandalous” pictures. She’s wearing more than most middle school girls wear at a 7th/8th grade dance! It’s like wearing a tube top and jeans…I really don’t understand why people consider these photographs ******, they are artsy and Annie Leboitvz is an artistic genius! And I can’t tell you how many people I’ve seen sit like that with their father. It’s like sitting on his lap but leaning instead! People really need to realize that 15 year olds aren’t going to dress in turtle necks and ankle skirts. The photographs are artistic and Miley and her father did nothing wrong!

i think this is perfectly normal. She is just taking a picture with her dad. nothing wrong about it. What makes it wrong is the people who use their sick minds and make things seem way different than what they are. I understand why she wants to take pictures for a very popular magazine, as miley cyrus, not Hannah Montana. She is 15 for gosh sakes. She wants to move on farther than just the kids show.
And by the way.. she is not even naked in any of these pictures. If you look at the vanity fair website, you can see she was defanitley fully clothed and it is very appropriate.
