New York Post Cover: MILEY’S SHAME
Miley Cyrus has become the center of a media storm for a semi-topless photograph, taken by Annie Liebovitz for Vanity Fair’s June issue.
As you can see, the 15-year-old media darling made front page news of the New York Post with the headline exclaiming, Miley’s Shame.
The near-nude pic shows Miley clutching a satin sheet to her chest with her back bare exposed. In her interview with the mag, Miley said the picture is “really artsy,” but not “in a skanky way.”
She has since apologized to the public for the photos.
“Somebody needs to pull in the reins of this talented little gal before her career stampedes off into the sunset,” says the LA Times.

It has nothing to do with being “puritan” - it has to do with a 15 year old girl too young to decide for herself, SELLING virginity & purity and “doing everything for Jesus” and then posing with that look in her eye. That look that screams burgeoning sexuality - fine 15 yr old girls are sexual - but most adults don’t market it for money.
You can’t play both the purity and sexuality card in the same hand - PICK ONE.
Hey #18 Britney did not do that when she was 15 and by the way her parents and grandmother were at the photo shoot. How come she cant take pictures and look like a fifteen year old? Because that wont sell shame on us all!!!!
This is the first time I have ever posted. I just want to say that Miley’s parents are responsible for her behavior, and they are kidding themselves if they think that they can protect her from herself and from the media. I think the sexy picture with Miley’s dad….says it all….He endorses her pouty sexy body draped over him. This is not how a little girl should pose with her father, it is suggestive. Shame on you Billy Ray Cyrus!!!!….All you father’s think of how sick you would have to be to join in a suggestive picture like this with your daughter. He is pimping her out. Miley Cyrus is a slow train wreck in progress….this will not turn out good. Women imagine yourself at fifteen having this “freshly fucked” picture taken for Vanity Fair, in the presence of your grandmother and teacher. Imagine posing suggestively draped over your father’s knee. We are used to seeing this kind of photo with twenty something women, and so it is not as shocking as it should be to see this with a child. Miley cannot protect herself from her parents and the media. Someday….pimping out your children in front of the world media will be recognized as child abuse. But before that happens we are going to see plenty more Britneys, Lindseys and Mileys drapped suggestively and invitingly for everyone to see.

Disturbing to say the least. I’m so sick of the “artsy” spin on semi-naked pictures. Give me a break. Would you let your 15 year old do this? I don’t think so. She can make just as much money for that magazine being phoographed appropriately.

The problem isn’t that she is showing her bare back, it’s the way she is posed and that she is holding a sheet. She looks like she just had sex and is looking at her lover. She is only 15! Her parents & Annie Liebovitz should have known better.
I like Miley but ever since she got really popular she looks like she is trying to be 18 not 15. My daughter loves watching Hannah Montana but if Miley keeps this BS up I will not let her continue watching. My daughter looks up to people like Miley and they have a responsability to be good teenage role models.
It sucks, I know Miley is 15 and wants her “freedom” and all the usual drama that comes with that age, but the fact is she chose to be in showbiz and so she has to live by it’s dictates. The same goes for Jamie Lynn Spears. You would think she …and her mother..would have learned something from Britney’s fall from grace. But no. So, Zoey 101 is banned from my house. As are any of her movies until she is 18 and her actions are considered those of an adult.
Anyway, after the myspace pics I absolutley do not believe Miley Cyrus is sorry or ashamed of these VF pictures. She probably thinks she looks sexy but sadly, she looks ******.

When I first read this story I thought that she actualy posed topless but she is wearing a big blanket on this picture which is not that big of a deal.

Those pics with her dad are disgusting. If you look she actually posed that way with the guy on her myspace pics as well. So wtf?
It looks really, really tacky and nothing says “I’m pimping out my daughter for cash” like the picture of Billy Ray Cyrus and Miley Cyrus.

The only thing wrong with Miley’s pics is the fact that everyone is making a bigger deal than necessary. Yes she’s 15 but if she was wearing a halter top would people be freaking out? When she wears a bathing suit are people going to freak out? I’m sure that if her dad didn’t find anything wrong with the pics then who are you to decide that there is. She’s obviously a smart girl who shouldn’t have to apologize for anything. I say, stay strong and let the people who have a problem with the photo shoot not buy the magazine. GET OVER IT FOLKS!!!!!!
I think it’s wrong that photographer asked her to take her shirt off for a photo only being 15. I’m surprised the photographer isn’t getting in trouble, that can be consider child pornography since she’s under 18.
I think it was wrong on both parts and I think her parents should have been there with her for the whole shoot. I sense something wrong with the photographer because she obviously waiting until her parents were gone. This just proves how naive and young she is, she has a lot of growing up to do.
