Miley Cyrus has become the center of a media storm for a semi-topless photograph, taken by Annie Liebovitz for Vanity Fair’s June issue.
As you can see, the 15-year-old media darling made front page news of the New York Post with the headline exclaiming, Miley’s Shame.
The near-nude pic shows Miley clutching a satin sheet to her chest with her back bare exposed. In her interview with the mag, Miley said the picture is “really artsy,” but not “in a skanky way.”
She has since apologized to the public for the photos.
“Somebody needs to pull in the reins of this talented little gal before her career stampedes off into the sunset,” says the LA Times.

I didn’t mean let her do whatever she wants, I am just saying its just a photoshoot and its not like shes showing anything no ones ever seen before,! all you can see is her back and she had a blanket around her.
It’s just a picture its not like shes posing naked, that is a different story and I would probably find that disappointing. But it’s just a picture

I don’t think a majority of the people here are criticizing Miley or her decision. Yes, it is ART but it would more tasteful ART with an older “model” or maybe if her hair wasn’t rumpled and if she didn’t have that “post look” about her. That is where I think ART went south. Poor kid indeed. She is the one that is facing the backlash. All because some so-called “adult” in her life drooled over the thought of a Liebovitz photo shoot. Annie may have wanted to do a shoot like this for years with any of a number of other young up and comings and Miley’s family was the first be foolish/greedy enough to agree to it.
Everyday has a new escandle! It’s terrible! I don’t believe that people like V. Hudgens, B. Spears and Miley Cyrus can be like this! But it has a problem to… if they make a LITTLE thing it’s a national escandle…

Miley shouldn’t have had a decision in this. This is why children have parents. We are criticizing all involved. It looks like a kiddy p*rn ad.
I think that this isnt a big deal. Its not like shes going around sleeping with a bunch of guys and crap. She took a photoshoot with a blanket or sheet over her…is that that big of a deal? Give the freaking girl a break.
I support her totally, she is in my age and I think she is a strong lovely girl!! We can see just her back, whats wrong with that? I truely cant see the problem!! I support her!!

Thats her own fault. She deserves this. She made a choice and it happened to be the wrong one. I mean, kids look at her as a role model and this is not the kind of thing we want them to do in the future. So, this is her fault and she should take the punishment for making the worng decision.

I agree that the Miley should not have had a say in this. I put 100% of the blame on her parents and I use that term loosely. Even the posed picture of her and her dad was a bit “off”. Also, Miley should not have had to “apologize” for anything, She trusted the adults around her to make the decisions and take care that things were done tastefully and those adults let her down.

Okay, Miley is a 15-year-old who’s brain is not fully developed. If she made the decision to do this near-nude photo shoot, some adult in her camp should have stopped her. Are there any adults in her camp?

I think she deserves this kind of humiliation. Kids look at her like a role model and this isn’t the kind of thing they should want to be when they grow up. If she wants to run around “nearly” topless then fine, but she shouldn’t assume there won’t be some kind of punishment, no matter what form it comes in.
I know Miley could have said no to the pictures, but she’s not the only one to blame. Remember, in the pictures she took of herself she had clothes on (or at least a bra)…

And why did her parents leave? Annie Leibovitz probably told them to because she was planning on making their daughter take her top off! I don’t mean to be harsh on someone I know nothing about, but I do know something about Miley and I honestly don’t believe she knew it would look that racy- she was lied to and manipulated by someone.

Please, plenty of teens take even worse pictures of themselves and post them on the internet and yes they may not be famous but its still seems to be the common thing for some teenagers to do! WOW miley has a boyfriend and she took a picture with him, with her stomach showing…..get the **** over it!!!!! I mean come on look at vanessa hudgens, her naked pictures havent caused her to really lose that much buisness-she is still gunna star in HSM3!! i just think people need to get over the whole good girl act…no one is perfect….people should be happy for miley that she is going to be featured in this magazine..not tearing her down for it!!! This is a bigger problem than cozy pictures with the boyfriend or private pictures showing up on the internet. This is a “professional” photo shoot and the exploitation of a minor and the manipulation of that same minor by adults.
THE HUMAN IN WHOLE UNIVERSE ARE GETTING WORSE AND WORSE, THEY ARE NOT GETTING BETTER. BECAUSE OF THE MEDIA,TABLOIDS,BAD POLITICS AND ETC…..REMEMBER PEOPLE ARE QUIET BUSY WORKING TO BE ABLE TO LOOK UP THE FAMILY, BECAUSE THEY SET THE LIFE TO MAKE IT SO HARD AND EXPENSIVE, SO THE NORMAL WORKING PEOPLE LIKE ME, CAN’T AFFORD TO HAVE A LEISURE TO THINK AND ANALIZE WHY IS THE WORLD THAT WE ARE LIVING IN RIGHT NOW ARE TOO MUCH TROUBLE.
