Miley Cyrus has become the center of a media storm for a semi-topless photograph, taken by Annie Liebovitz for Vanity Fair’s June issue.
As you can see, the 15-year-old media darling made front page news of the New York Post with the headline exclaiming, Miley’s Shame.
The near-nude pic shows Miley clutching a satin sheet to her chest with her back bare exposed. In her interview with the mag, Miley said the picture is “really artsy,” but not “in a skanky way.”
She has since apologized to the public for the photos.
“Somebody needs to pull in the reins of this talented little gal before her career stampedes off into the sunset,” says the LA Times.

Oh please, everyone who insists “it’s just her back” - it’s not always what’s ACTUALLY pictured that’s most important. Little girls whose parents aren’t going to buy this mag are going to see this picture in passing and think what everyone else thought on first impression - she’s naked. That affects people, especially if they like her. Besides, it’s not just her back - she looks extremely sexed up.
It seems like there ISN’T a line with a lot of you - if she had been completely naked you would have insisted “she’s covered in a sheet.” It’s inappropriate for any 15-year-old, let alone a 15-year-old who tries to present herself as a “role model.”
She needs to either dump her “innocent” image and embrace this “I’m grown up” phase or knock off the idiot pictures.

ok! this is being blown way out of proportion!!!! the photographer said it was artsy. and her grandmother was there when they shot it!!! so just stop making a huge deal out of it!!!!
Between this photo and the “sexy” pics of her and her boyfriend, I have lost all of my respect for her. She is turning into a trashy *****.

At 15 you are too young to fully understand the power you have over the opposite sex. When I was 14 or 15 my friend and I sat on the curb and we got silly and started waving and calling (just “hi”) to cars as they passed by. We lived in a small town and the curb was directly in front of my friend’s house and it was daylight. One of the cars drove around the block and passed us again and then stopped and lectured us. He told us we could give someone the wrong impression by catching the attention of the cars. It was so embarrassing because the passenger side of the door opened then and just as we were about to run screaming for the hills, my older brother (18) got out. He said his friend noticed some cute girls and wanted to drive by again and then my brother noticed that one of the “cute girls” was his little sister, so he wanted to teach us a lesson! This was many years ago and I have never forgotten the message. Maybe Miley needs an older brother looking out for her!

Smiley Miley ain’t smiley no more
Someone suggested that this photo has been done before and actually Angelina Jolie was the model and so I looked at that one. AJ is smiling and appears to be enjoying herself in her picture and not in a sheet but in a satiny slinky dress. Miley is not smiling and looks either scared or shy or just plain uncomfortable. Perhaps that was Liebovitz’s intent, to have that “reluctant lost innocence” look.
I dont blame her parents for this AT ALL bc she is 15 not 10 and she knows right from wrong. I am so SICK of hearing people saying “she is only 15″ well you know what she was posing for the pictures and she never what he fans though about the myspace photos that she had out so I think that this is just a comment sense thing on her part. I do think that she does this to get attention IMO. I really do and I think that there is a better way to get attention then to act like a ****. I mean at least whenever Britney was in Rolling Stone at 15 she and her family had sense enough not to let her take off her shirt!!! How stupid! And IMO to many people are giving her the attention that she so needs. SO STOP ALREADY!
Miley is quoted as saying, “you can’t say no to Annie”. Who put that in her head? Scarey! What was she told, “Honey, do whatever that nice Ms. Liebovitz tells you to do. She is the pro and you are so lucky to have such an artist want to photograph you. You will be envied and admired by all. We’ll just wait outside and count your money!”

I can’t believe people are actually siding with this sk.ank. She was naked for God sakes. It’s not so much the image as it is what is implied. All that’s covering her “goodies” is a small sheet. Otherwise, she’s baring it all. At 15, all a girl should be doing is hanging out with her friends and having a good, clean time. There’s no excuse for this kind of exhibition and there’s nothing artsy about this.
When some of you are older, maybe you’ll understand why this is so bad. But right now, I think most of you are too young to understand the affect this has on people who look up to Miley. It’s never ok to be naked and pose for a camera with the intent of the picture coming out when your 15. NEVER.
And I’m seriously laughing at all you Miley fans right now. I remember last year, when Vanessa’s pictures came out, you guys were getting on her case, calling her a s.lut and whatever. Who would have thought that in 8-9 months time, you’d be in the same position. Must suck huh, to read all these mean things being said about someone you look up to. Karma baby, and I’m enjoying every second of this. It’s her own fault for promoting this kind of image.

I don’t blame Miley I blame her parents. I know these pics aren’t that bad but when your 15, your fan base is mostly young girls and your a disney channel star you need to know that your a role model and you have to be careful about what you do.

I think the New York Post has no right to blow this out of preportion nobody made a big deal when Lindsay posed COMPLETELY NUDE (Take it she is older but still a child actor) and now Miley has a satin sheet pressed against her chest and it’s the end of the world. Oh my god. She’s 15 yes but as she stated don’t blame her for making mistakes, she’d a normal person, whether you believe it or not and if you have something to write bad about Miley then you need to look in the mirror and check reality their are people in the entertainment world that are doing stuff worse than having a sheet over their chests. This picture is beautiful and Miley is a very beautiful and artistic girl and she deserves all the support she can get. And as for any pictures posted on the web of her you can just hold you tongue because their are far worse pictures on the peoples myspace’s who write bad about a sweet young girl. So before you talk I say look in the mirror and don’t take something so harshley. Miley handles these situations very well and I respect that. And to Luvn_hollywood11 she did get grounded but this was for a photoshoot and if you would read before you talk her family left except for her grandmother and teacher and so Trish (her Mom) was there she probally would have put her foot down. And how do you know she didn’t ground her for this you don’t live with her. Miley was there with herself making the decisions and so she chose a wrong move. In the long run this picture is beautiful and Miley should respect that she has the ability to take such beautiful photos. Never blame someone for their opinion because some people make mistakes yes and I’m sure everybody has something they wish they could take back so next time read the whole story or don’t open your mouth. Miley is beautiful and will still make it far and thats that.

As if this is even a big deal! She isn’t even naked and she was manipulated into believeing that this photoshoot whould turn out arty and not ******. i think the media is making a huge deal over nothing. I’m the same age as her and i can’t even imagine what it feels like to be in her situation. she doesn’t deserve to be payed out for this. Obviously it was a mistake for her to trust this photographer but in quoting with her song “everyone makes mistakes.. and nobody’s perfect” People (being the media) really need to look at the way they are destroying this poor girl. she is only 15 give her a break and leave her alone. Anyone that her age as well bagging her think about how you think it would feel being in her situation. she is a strong person and i honestly believe she will get through it.
