Scarlett Johansson - “Falling Down” Music Video
Here is the world premiere of Scarlett Johansson’s first music video to “Falling Down,” off her debut studio album, Anywhere I Lay My Head.
The cover song, which has David Bowie also on vocals, is originally on Tom Waits‘ album Big Time.
The album is set for release through Atco/Rhino Records on May 20. Watch the music video below!

You know that video was as God awful as her vocals. I sing better than that! Come on, Nico? I don’t think that she comes close to Nico, in the Velvet Underground. She is beautiful and talented as an ACTRESS, just not as a singer. Yeah, yeah, I know that a lot of people do, but what the F—- do they know? They form their opinions around what other people say. There are much more talented people than her in terms of singing, they just won’t get the chance to show it, lack of publicity. She was droning and boringly monotone, the lyrics were nice..
I didn’t think I would, but I loved the video. It was a beautiful commentary on what it’s like to be a star. However, I think the weird mixing of the vocals didn’t help it. It even sounds like they turned them down and turned up the instruments. Better luck next time.

I like this song. I think Scarlett has a unique sounding voice. I want to hear some other tracks from the album. If they are anything close to “Falling Down” I will buy the album. I always knew Scarlett would be a good singer based on her demenor. She is a neat girl, not like most actresses that are pretty, she seems to be a smart girl.
Is this a joke? Why would anyone even produce such crap? She has horrible voice in the movies, but it’s even more horrendouse in her song. Yuck!

It’s cool. Her voice is interesting and I like the style. The people who don’t like it can go listen to the bland sing-by-numbers voice of their favorite American Idol contestant and get fucked.

i loved the whole thing. watching this amazed me, its such a therapeutic song! i think scarlett is trying to describe the hardships of her career and life generally, and how hard it is not to go ‘falling down’ . haha great job girl!

It seems like most people here expect her to churm out some crappy pop songs because she is an attractive female celebrity. Learn to be open minded…it’s ok that this doesn’t sound the way you expected it to. I thought it was nice, regardless of who was singing.

Wow, this is truly god-awful. She’s a great actress, but she is obviously not meant to sing. Which exec at Warner Bros. Records thought this was a good idea? The video is lame as well. Tom Waits must be cringing.

Not to sure on the musicvideo either…. it seems so…. tacky, to a song like Falling down.

Its reminisce of the 60s when womens voices werent neccesarily pretty but she can hold a tune… I like it. But the segment in the video of the creepy lil girl in the pink dress freaks me out a bit

well, I have listened to it. And I am a musican who has played Tom W. songs. The problem is with the mixing, her voice is not flat , it”s just the watered down , sloppy mix!!! Bad drumming. And no concept of how to redo a song that was a perge to do anyway.Maybe she should have started with Spingfeild”s … Jessy”s Girl. Ha!! Ha!!!
This has got to be a sick joke that they are pulling on us! The only thing she is good for is to look at! She should start modeling, stop acting and NEVER, EVER, EVER…EVER sing again! My ears hurt!
I really enjoy and respect Scarlet’s acting skills however I did not enjoy this song at all. It has nothing to do with type, style or genre of music. I very much enjoy music from every category. She doesn’t have a voice to sing with. She has very little control of her monotone voice and it is very unpleasant to the ear. In my opinion she really needs to stay with what shes good at or at least stick with pop music where there are plent of tricks and voice enhancers to dull the pain.
Do you know the story of the King who was thought to be insane by all the people of his kingdom, yet he was the ONLY one who even came close to being sane? Majority is not always wise…
This song, video and Scarlet’s voice are RAW, REAL, AND YEAH IT’S NOT PERFECT BUT THAT’S WHAT MAKES IT BEAUTIFUL!
