OlderClay Aiken is an Easter Bonnet
Clay Aiken and Spamalot’s Hannah Waddingham depart from the 22nd Annual Easter Bonnet Competition, held on Tuesday at the Minskoff Theatre in New York City.
It was announced that over $3.7 million had been raised for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.
In his new album On My Way Here, Clay has a track called ‘The Real Me’ which was written by Natalie Grant, a singer-songwriter in the area of contemporary Christian music.
In an interview with Billboard, Clay said of the track ‘The Real Me,’ “We first looked at that song as one of four originals on the last album. The thing I love so much about ‘The Real Me’ is that when I listened to it, I thought, ‘It’s about God.’ Jaymes (executive producer) heard a romantic song. Other people think it’s about their mom. Everyone is able to take their own message. Natalie was kind enough to change a little bit of the lyric so that it fits my life even better.”

I was in the audience, too, and you’re full of it. It was a gorgeous performance and their voices blended together beautifully. Hannah did not steal anything, because unlike some other singers, both her and Clay can sing in harmony without trying to outscream each other. In any case, I’ve heard that the entire show was recorded and will be available for sale, so everyone will be able to hear it for themselves.

Clay has has so much success in such a short time. And now actor and dancer in a major Broadway show getting fantastic reviews. Even tho I’ve been a fan for four years and have been to every one of his eight tours, he blew me away in Spamalot–even I was amazed. He was simply brilliant. He’s such a beautiful human being-inside and out. What the hell is wrong with people who feel they have the right to say nasty things about this great talented guy. Do they need to take out their frustration for their own lack of importance and accomplishment on him? Aren’t there more worthy victims for their vicious attacks? It’s a shame they get a voice here for this tasteless crap.

Renee, I am full of what??? The TRUTH. Have you forgotten how Clay at one point dramatically pulled back his microphone as if he were going to unleash some rafter raising note like Celine Dion and then no sound came out ??? Ms. Waddingham had flawless mike technique and posses such a well trained instrument that there was no need for her to scream or engage in uncalled for theatrics. I do hope they release a recording of this event because unless Clay’s track is digitally enhanced by a highly skilled producer like David Foster. I think his fans will be forced to concede that performing alongside Hannah Waddingham Mr. Aiken was entirely out of his league.
Wow, they look fabulous together. Two gorgeous people, for sure. Bet their babies would make beautiful music. I’m not sure what the ‘headline’ means. Clay is an Easter Bonnet? Ohhh, wait - it’s a gaaaaaay joke. How original.
I understand the ‘Claymates’ defending their man - they love him. I don’t get all the time spent by those who claim to ‘hate’ him though. Curious! Methinks y’all protest too much! Maybe you should wonder why, hmmm?
Jonathan you obviously know nothing about the Clay fans you wish to bash. Audio is ALREADY out there for the performance and they BOTH sound fantastic. By all means run back to watch Mario again in his program — I think you actually said quite a lot in just that statement alone. And BTW Clay’s fans adore Hannah, so it is NO contest or issue to them that she is fantastic. It may be one of the all time best duets he has ever performed in because it was with another singer who DOES know how to sing that way, as opposed to some from AI and elsewhere in the past that think the idea is to be the loudest of the two.
For those who claim they are “only” costars — yup, talk to her. She definitely does NOT hide that she flat out loves her some Clay Aiken. They have been out together many times away from the show. Could be as just great buddies with matching personalities or something more. But she has RAVED about him every since arriving here in the US and meeting him.
I say whatever it is, more power to them. He seems to be collecting beautiful women lately — Tyra Banks was raving about him on her show today on TV. Too bad you guys can’t just “make someone gay” because you want them to be. Ain’t happening with Clay and never will.
Jonathan needs to get a grip. I doubt that he was there or even heard them sing. I just now watched a video and listened to the duet and it was absolutely stunning. Hannah has a beatufiul powerful voice.
Clay first sang in his lower tenor which just resonates. He doesn’t only have glory notes to rely on as he has quite a vocal range.
Now that duet was the way a duet is to be sung.
It’s pretty obvious that Jonathan did not attend the show, and watched the performance on a grainy bootleg he swiped from a Clay fan site. There was no missed notes, no silent notes, and no need for digital enhancement whatsoever.

Hannah gushed to a reporter shortly after they met in mid January about how she didn’t expect him to be so tall, handsome, and “strapping.”
Hannah loves her some Clay; she slipped up behind him at the stage door one day last month and grabbed his butt as he was signing autographs right in front of a large group of his fans.

BTW, he started wearing his hair like that in December.

HEH, actually word arond Broadway is that Mario is a bit of a stiff in his role, the resuraunt I ate at the waiters were tallking that people seeing the show aren’t impressed. but hey I never thought much of Mario.
I do like Clay though, and he has very pretty women to hang out with, ( tyra even callled him one of her very best friends) no matter what Clay is, he’s not crying over having to “do lunch” with supermodels and pretty blonde co stars.
Great pictures although I’ve already seen them. I wish that Hannah had worn those things, I don’t know what they’re called, that would have lifted her breasts some. Clay is as gorgeous and hot as ever!

and I just love him!!! And all you idiots, he is not
gay!! It makes me wonder at the people who are
always saying he is whether you are yourselves

However, Clay is NOT GAY!!!! so get a different subject, and stop being jealous! After all, there are many other singers out there!!

If you people don’t like Clay go find another site to visit. Clay and Hannah are both very talented people who are working together and hanging out together. You people who want to go on and on about him being GAY, go get a life! If anyone has ever followed Clay at all, he really does not like all that make-up or his hair fooled with, but it is something he has to do when performing. He has a very freckled face and his eye lashes are very light with beautiful green eyes. eave the guy alone!!!
I saw Clay Aiken on Idol and always thought he got robed. Some of my friends saw him in Spamalot and thought he was great. The same friends gave me his new album “On My Way Here”, really good. I’m not sure why you mentioned “The real Me” Just Jared, because the best song on that album is “Ashes” and “Everything I Don’t Need” is very unexpected and My favorite.
