Tween Disney star Selena Gomez is all smiles on the set of a People magazine photo shoot in Los Angeles late last week.
Selena, 15, has kids spellbound as Alex Russo in Disney’s Wizards of Waverly Place. In 2007, she appeared in the second-season episodes of Hannah Montana as Mikayla, a pop star who is a rival of Hannah Montana, played by Miley Cyrus. But could there be a real-life rivalry between Selena and Miley?
E! recently reported that Disney executives are so worried about Miley’s semi-topless Vanity Fair scandal that, more than ever, they want to make Selena an even bigger star.
“Selena sings and acts and is really young,” a source reports. “She is going to be the next Miley Cyrus. [Disney executives] really want this.”

They may be the same age but they are totally different kinds of girls ,miley started her career and Hannah Montana when she was way younger if you think of it this way, she wasn’t doing all these kinds of things when she started ,mainly because nobody paid attention to her and didn’t knew what she did. Even though i am a big miley fan …. those pictures she has gotten are not that appropriate for the kind of role model that she is…but she has to learn from her mistakes to become a better person…

Miley’s recent stunts goes to show that she’s not as sweet as everyone once thought. But Selena is different. She has amazing singing and acting talent. She is sooo sweet to all of her fans and started out because of her OWNNN talent! Not because of the inspiration of her Dad like Miley.
I mean, I’m a Miley fan, but Selena just worked harder to get where she was. She’s been doing this since she was 9! And Miley has too, but Selena has had bigger roles and has more talent.
The next Disney Queen? That I don’t know about right away. That’ll take a while. She needs to become more of a household name, then she’ll get bigger and be involved in lots more roles and appear at more things. Until then, people like Miley will be the “teen queens.”

what’s the big deal, about it, let’s let her be another 15 year old controled by disney, like most of them.. geez so just cause they want her to be big she is going to be.. won’t buy another cheesy girl album, that’s what I like about Miley’s voice and her music is not cheesy at all. Miley Cyrus made this role, and should remain in it. I don’t think that what she did was all that bad, and even if it was, then Vanity Fair should shoulder at least some (if not all) of the blame, and nobody’s pointing fingers at them!!! I think this is terribly unfair and unjust. I can’t even imagine anyone else in the role of Hannah Montana. Miley has already make such a big mark on teen popstar history that anyone who could be bigger than her would be a god/godess.
And no one as little as out of the blue miss selena gomez can pull such a huge deed off. I am a fan of both these sucessfull stars but in a way Miley took such an impact on teen viewers in such little time just proves to us all that Miley has something in her that made every young veiwer in America love her. As amazing as how fast Miley became a wonder sad to say Selena comes off as someone just trying to be like Miley,trying to be the next big star as miley did succeed to do and if you think that isnt true if Selena does sign with Hollywood records that will prove it. And besides all that Miley is about to release her new album ”Breakout” and she will once again be making millions, selling out concerts and be on major talk shows to talk about her new beggining. Miley has millions of fan sites all about her, hundreds of magazines with her face plastered on them, a billion dollars off merchandizing, a youtube show with her best friend and back-up dancer, mandy jiroux, and a official fansite that lets you know miley so close better than you could even if you knew her personally. Miley is big and took America by storm. Not to mention going to Europe at age 15 just to do a tour when so young and so early into her career. What has Selena done? Let us see. She has her own show ”Wizards of Waverly Place” and has made one music video of a song that was not even hers.And of course let us not forget her youtube show with best friend Demi Lavato. So think realisticly and line up the posibility for Selena being ”The Next Miley Cyrus”.
