Tween Disney star Selena Gomez is all smiles on the set of a People magazine photo shoot in Los Angeles late last week.
Selena, 15, has kids spellbound as Alex Russo in Disney’s Wizards of Waverly Place. In 2007, she appeared in the second-season episodes of Hannah Montana as Mikayla, a pop star who is a rival of Hannah Montana, played by Miley Cyrus. But could there be a real-life rivalry between Selena and Miley?
E! recently reported that Disney executives are so worried about Miley’s semi-topless Vanity Fair scandal that, more than ever, they want to make Selena an even bigger star.
“Selena sings and acts and is really young,” a source reports. “She is going to be the next Miley Cyrus. [Disney executives] really want this.”

I like selena and think that she’s a sweet girl and all, but I can’t see her ever being as successful as miley is. Miley has only been on disney for one more year than selena has, but she has acomplished about 10 times more. She has that star quality and for selena it’s just not there yet.

Well,I don’t think anyone could ever,ever top Miley…no offense,but Hannah Montana is waaaaay more popular than Wizards Of Waverly Place.I do think that Selena is gorgeous and a good singer,but I still think Miley is better.
Oh and by the way,to everyone who said that Miley’s a bad role model because of the Vanity Fair pictures,I have something to say: Maybe if Selena was as famous as Miley and had all the pressures that Miley has…maybe we would see more pictures of her.

“And then you don’t point out all the other sucky performances she had like the KCA awards.. Idol Gives Back .. She’s nothing special .. not that great .. ” Miley had a throat infection, and her CMT Awards perfonmance was amazing, even tought she was sick ,and you could hear it, she pull it off better than Selena’s “Cruella de Vil” remake, which is probably ther worse remake ever made. Selena may be sweet, but she’s got no real personality, she’s more like just another of those celebrities that pretend to be perfect, Miley at least doesn’t pretend, If all of the sudden to show your back in a picture is a bad thing, then everyone out of the water…. people does much worse mistakes, and you can’t know for sure that Selena has no bad pics none knows about, or is not gonna make the same mistakes, cause you don’t know her in person, There’s one thing to know what mags and blogs say,

i think selena is not the new miley. Selena is a wayyy better role model than Miley and Selena is actually dedicated to acting and singing, unlike Miley who has not talent and just loves the attention. I definitly think Selena is the new Miley(hopefully she won’t turn out like Miley) and Miley’s exit is way overdue.
