Tween Disney star Selena Gomez is all smiles on the set of a People magazine photo shoot in Los Angeles late last week.
Selena, 15, has kids spellbound as Alex Russo in Disney’s Wizards of Waverly Place. In 2007, she appeared in the second-season episodes of Hannah Montana as Mikayla, a pop star who is a rival of Hannah Montana, played by Miley Cyrus. But could there be a real-life rivalry between Selena and Miley?
E! recently reported that Disney executives are so worried about Miley’s semi-topless Vanity Fair scandal that, more than ever, they want to make Selena an even bigger star.
“Selena sings and acts and is really young,” a source reports. “She is going to be the next Miley Cyrus. [Disney executives] really want this.”

No I do not think that Selena is the new Miley….I agree with the person who said blame the adults in her life…..If her parents would have been doin what they were suppose to be doin none of this would have happened….Selena is very talented but Miley is great and i don’t think anyone can replace her….Selena can stay Selena and be equally as great or even better when the times come….I really think that Miley is changing her act back, atleast she needs to….Miley Lover/Selena Lover/ Demi Lover! so I don´t like selena Gomez
Selena Gomez is such a great person. She is like a role model to me also and I’m like 2 years older than her. I learn so much from her by just watch her talk in talk shows. She really knows what is right and what is not. Also she is such a intelligent speaker and great advice giver. Selena is like a nice, sweet intelligent person that wants everything to be peaceful and she work her way up as a great actress and singer with nobody helping her. She learn how to live and deal with bad situation around her and still do what she loves to do which is acting and singing. The great things about her is that she is not there to look good and glamorous, but there to do what she love, it’s to act. She is not there to replace Miley and she doesn’t want to, but everyone is making it happen.
On the other hand Miley is popular because her dad is poplar therefore she gets help from her dad, if she just have a normal family she probably wouldn’t make it.
Selena is better than Vanessa anyway, because she has a steady personality and Vanessa doesnt have the steady personality. She is just not as good after dating Zac. And Vanessa’s songs isn’t as good as the 1st album. That is just because she dated Zac and turn into a monster, but i like Vanessa when she was single, when she was younger.
I think selena is such a better rolemodel in general. She’s someone that all teenagers can look up to and become something positive.
I’ve hated miley since like day one. And that vanity fair pictures and the one with her laying across her then boyfriend then the one with her lacy green bra. Personally Selena is a better person in general. I think she could be the new miley.

Miley all the way.Wizards of Waverly Place is one of the lowest rated Disneychannel shows.Its not going to be a big thing like Hannah Montana.Hannah Montana is the highest rated show on Disney Channel.Matter of fact its the highest rated show in the world right under American Idol.Miley has an awesome singing voice,is an awesome actress, and is a huge rolemodel to me and my sister.Everybody makes mistakes and at least she apoligized.Selena isnt as far into her career to make mistakes like that.I dont think her career will ever get to that point anyway.Even if it did,she probably wouldnt apoligize.I’ve already seen some weird pics of Selena and Demi.
